How many Alkesh do we have?

We must of captured loads. We took the reactor out of one to help out the Prometheus and there was the one that Baal crashed on Earth. There must be more? We should use them instead of designing and building a new type of escort cruiser.

I know people have suggested such a craft as the next 305.

i don't think its so much a phobia, as it's we use it and it gets destroyed...just about every single one has been unlucky enough to get destroyed.
That's the plan?!? That's the plan. That plan sucks!

did someone say unlucky? , yep i think we should call it the comandeer curse, lets make a tally:
we captured 1 hatak in late season 4, then lost it in the season 5 priemere, we got another at the begining of season 6, then it got destroyed, got the scout ship and inhanced it but it got destroyed, we captured a wraith dart, it got destroy, we captured an ori mothership, twice and they eventually got it back, captured a hive ship, it got destroyed also, the aurora got destroyed too, and many more....

can anyone think of any ship we've captured that hasn't been recaptured or destroyed?

It would be a lot better to make more of our own ships instead of using Alkesh- just all of the Goa'uld translation for the computer systems would be a hassle for most Earth teams. Not to mention the fact that Goa'uld weapons, shields, and engines are all inferior to Asgard tech.

I agree, for non-combat supplying missions you could easily use an Alkesh instead, as long as its intragalactic. But a mission to Pegasus would be completely out of the question- Spoiler for SG-1 season 4.

                Spoiler:
In the SG-1 episode "Enemies" SG-1 was stranded in a different galaxy with a ha'tak. Carter estimated that it would take a hundred years with the hyperdrive to get back to the MW.

So can anyone estimate the number of Alkesh that we have? We might as well use them, it's not like we can turn them into restarants in Dubai. As opposed to using the QEII.

i believe you mean interstellar, which is travel within one galaxy which is what you were describing. intrgalactic would be travel between galaxys.

Hes correct too. Intragalactic means within a galaxy. Its the same as intersteller. Your thinking of intergalactic which means between galaxies.

I can't really think of any that we've managed to keep our hands on.

Well, theres the Tria, from "the return", which was, you know, just forgoten

Personaly, i'd say tauri have just 2-3 alkeshes, prehaps less, that probably are being studied in area 51.

Isn't it funny how the word 'politics' is made up of the words 'poli' meaning 'many' in Latin, and 'tics' as in 'bloodsucking creatures’?

You don't need to put that in spoilers, it's at least 6/7 years old!

I figured that someone on here may be playing catch up with SG-1 because they started watching Atlantis when it came out. Besides, how hard is it to click the spoiler button?
