when jack and carter set up the whole, destroy anubises superwepon and they lured him to the planet as planned. i forgot which episode it was but anyways. well, they were planning to hyperspace past the shields, and have daniel and jonas get info where the ventilaion for the wepons powercore is so they could blow it up by using the hyperdrive on the 302 to bypass anubises shields and destroy his only advantage over the other system lords.


well overall this plan put every member of sg1 at risk when they could have done this: lure him to the planet, then load the 302 with 4 nuclear missils tiped with naquada and bypass his shields and launch the missils and get the hell outta there, then they could have just detonated them thus killing anubis as opposed to just getting rid of his special wepon.

A good thought, although i suspect the "getting out of there" part would be problematic if dealing with nukes that could severely damage anubisis huge ship. Besides, werent they planing on sicking the system lords yo kill anubis, after his weapon was destroyed?

Its a very good point, but its just one of a number of plans that could have worked. The main point abotu that plan was to destroy the superweapon which gave him the advantage over the systemlords above and beyond what a large fleet and flagship would have given him.
The whole missile impact and getting out of there isnt really an issue, we could have put it on a timer and made sure the nukes were in some kind of protective shield. The most important question to ask, is why did they even use the 302 atall. They ringed aboard...they could have put a naquadah reactor on overload, ring it up, and blwo it by remote.

getting out of there wouldnt be that much of a problem. you just fire the nukes into his ship, retreat and once your a safe distance away, detonate them.

and the origional plan was to stick the system lords on him but that plan put teal'c, daniel, jonas, jack, and carter at risk. this one only puts jack and carter at risk. and it would be much less complicated.
