when the ori assembled a fully functionall supergate, they should have gotten a stargate and placed it next to the supergate and dialed the blackhole or the water lifeform planet, and thus could have prevented the ori from dialing in because two wormhole cant be active right next to each other. it would have been a lot easier than doing the hole pegasus project thing. or they could have done that after they sent through the san gral. it would have prevented the ori from coming back through.

i dont think so because the ramp on the sgc gate goes through the center of the gate yet it dosent make the gate act like its buried. and yet it dosent disentagrate either, theres another of those "why dosent it" , questions.STARGATE ROCKS

i agree, it would be stupid to get vaporized trying to bury a space gate with ships. even though the hat'ak only lasted 1 shot a piece, but without them who else would have drawn their fire away from the 304sSTARGATE ROCKS

im guessing from the fact that they moved pretty fast out of the gate, and they even plowed through and destroyed a hat'ak, that they have pretty powerful engines keeping them in place that would proboly resist and win, in a fight to move the gate from its pre programed position.STARGATE ROCKS

What about clogging it with asteroids or just random crap then? We know that on principle there's some threshold you can reach where disrupting the formation of an event horizon is possible.
Doing it that way would of course take longer than clogging/disrupting it with ships though.
So long as we're going to spend a lot of time though we mind as well spend it by just linking a bunch of Ha'tak/Asgard shield generators together and creating a scaled up version of the Atlantis gateshield.
That'll come as a nasty surprise to the next wave of Ori reenforcements.

Its a nice thought, but we cant make a shield, powered by the black hole, we're not ancients. There are basicly 2 problems with all the ideas proposed:
1) Very limited time. After they found the supergate, the ori arrived very quickly, we didnt even manage to dial out in time, let alone set something elaborate up.
2) After the ori passed through, seing how they decimated our defense fleet, any such atempt, like puting a rock, a ship, or a dialed gate inside the supergate wouldnt be worth the effort, as the ori toilets could easily destroy any of that.
