how do you folks think the last scene of sg-1 should play out, personally id like an open ending with the four of them walking through the gate like at the end of 'the enemy within'

plus: i doubt it would happen but i dont want this thread over run by shippers who want to see jack and sam fishing. not that im against freedom of speech but if the thread gets dominated with REPEATING shippy ways to end it i may be forced to zat someone

A chorus line; definitely a chorus line.

IMO, there should be a last minute crisis, everything slips into slow motion, armies of Earth are battling the alien menace. There are 5 minutes before the a bomb that will save Earth will detonate, and SG1 are the guys to do it. Troops of soldiers pour out of the gate and into the SGC, then we see on the other end SG1 "slow motion" rushing towards the gate. Back in the SGC, everyone looks on anxiously. People in their homes are watching on their TVs, they see the gate on their screen, nothing comes out of the wormhole...

Then victoriously SG1 emerge triumphant! And the world rejoices.

Ok ok.... so its cheesy, but I want something that gives you a sense of pride in humanity. No ofence to Americans here, cause frnakly I think Americans rock!

But im sick and tired of TV producers always making America save the world, Independance day wasa primary example. I'd like to see a world effort where every body was nessacery and important, from, the Russian forces, to the RAF regiment and the SAS, to even the Chinese troops. I wnat a world victory. I wanna see EARTH flags on the teams arms, not nation flags, I wanna see Earth flags used when we go to Mars, not Chinese, Russian or American...

.How about the Asgard stepping up against the goa'uld

Finally ;)

The power vaccum of the defeat of Anubis would surely lead to the downfall of them. The asgard bottling up the replicators it would now be the time to strike, unfortuate about the insident at the begining of s8 :S

I think the best way to end it(if it must :( ) would be to have a big finale that gives some closure to the war with the Goa'uld, but doesn't close it up completely. Then wrap it up with a shot of the four of them heading through the gate like normal. I think that's the best way because it would have enough closure that if they didn't do anything else with it, you wouldn't be left hanging, but would still leave it open for anything down the road. That's just my opinion.

Until now I'd always have said that the most likely end would be the four of them striding into the wormhole. But if Jack is a General now, and hence no longer going on missions routinely, I'm not sure that it would make sense for that to be it.

I'd quite like an arial shot that pulls back from SG-1 & General O'Neill standing at the foot of a stargate on an alien world having just completed The Mission that rounds off the series, that keeps on pulling back until it shows the world from space, and then tilts up to show a starscape before moving off towards the stars.

I like the idea of them walking up the the gate, and having a chorus line. So maybe as they are walking up the enter the gate, O'neill breaks out into "We're off to see the wizard..." :D

I'd like it to end with a bit of closure to all the major story lines...e.g the goa'uld being defeated etc.
And personally I think it would be great at the very end to give us some flashes into the future...what SG-1 are doing after the threat from the goa'uld has gone, e.g seeing Daniel settle down with Sarah(ex.osiris), seeing Teal'c get his own house on earth with Ryac and (I'm gonna take the risk, if you diecide to zat me thats fine...) see Sam and Jack together (getting married or just being together, as long as it's something....) :p *Runs to hide from the_fours*

I really think that would be a great ending but I doubt it will end like that, it will probably just be SG-1 walking back through the Stargate after saving the world once more..

I don't know how, don't have the intricate details, but it should end with ALL FOUR together. Walking off the screen, or something. But, no locking two team members out and making it seem like the show was all about the other two. No, no, no way.

Any thoughts as to the involvement of Jonas "Jackson rip off" Quin?

SGSlugger
May 8th, 2004, 07:19 AM
I'd like to see more of him in season 8, but have him walking off with the team....naw. He wasn't part of the original SG-1, so he should walk off with them. But having him run after them after they had entered the gate would be alright.

I'm hoping for a four-strong SG-1 - Sam, Teal'c, Daniel and Jonas, if only to lay to rest the accusation that Jonas is a Daniel rip-off. He's technically more capable but a learner not a researcher; he's more innocent, yet angrier than Daniel, even more impulsive. He was an utterly distinct personality, and if he did have a really bad do in Season 7 then he wasn't the only member of SG-1 to have a bad hair day.

I'd just like it not to be something too predictable. Something more unexpected would be what i'd like.

The last scene, and IMO most of the last story should involve THE TEAM, and Jack, and I'd wouldn't be opposed to see Jonas in there somewhere, and Gen Hammond should be in the last scene even if it's just a pan from him to the last shot.

I'd really like to see another team scene similar to the one they did in TLC p1. :)

BTW any potential shippy ending should have occured before the last scene, so there was very little need for the warning IMO :p

In the final minutes of the last episode, Anubis returns and takes over the SGC with waves of Super Soldiers, but he is thwarted at the last minute by Cassandra, her boyfriend, her frumpy yet brilliant friend and the slacker athlete they hang out with because he knows where to score pot; and of course the dog Jack gave her.

In the final seconds, they remove Anubis' mask to reveal Old Man Smithers, the janitor.

"And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you meddling kids," he snarls.

I don't know why but I see them walking down the ramp rather than up.
I would prefer to see them think that there is no threat so that they can have a bit of a life outside the SGC and enjoy the life on Earth for a while until the movie. ;)

And Sam( dressed in black leather) and Jack(leather too) together prior to the finale scene with some good nookie by the fishing lake .....with Sam's bike nearby . :D My guilty pleasure....both of them coming back from a ride on the bike.heheehhehehehehe :D

Jack and Teal'c crash on an alien world during a pitched battle with this season's Big Bad. They have survived (barely), but the world itself is hostile and the Enemy is closing in.

Daniel disappears without a trace while on a routine mission offworld with SG-13.

Carter refuses to accept that Jack and Teal'c are dead and is frantic to find them and Daniel, but the political scene is rapidly shifting in Jack's absence and she may find herself reassigned away from Stargate Command. As a last, desperate effort, she contacts Jonas for help. Jonas is thrilled at the chance to get away from the rapidly declining situation on Langara, but there are some problems you can't escape and his decision could prove cataclysmic...

Final scene is in the control room. There's an unscheduled offworld activation. Lights are flashing, sirens blaring. Sgt. Davis is staring slack-jawed down into the Gateroom. He stands, backing away slowly. "Oh my god..." Scene flashes to white.

The End. http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/scorchio/sevil.gif

Imaginary fish are the most dangerous kind.

Hey, maybe they all get swallowed by a giant fish. Or they all turn INTO fish! Or we find out the whole series has been the dream of a fish living under the dock in Jack's pond...

Well firstly I think...Jack/Sam relationship must stay as it is, they might want to put them together in the movie, or leave them alone as it is...it just makes Stargate much more interesting, IMHO
Secondly, an offworld ending would suck, because it's all about us, ppl, that came from Earth, so it must end on Earth after some big battle, but that would be similar end as to all sci-fi seriese. So may be the last episode will be about SGC working together, and explonation of how SG-1 is a family, or something like that, you know...

Let's do the Blake's 7 ending:

Langara is occupied by Anubis. SG-1 launch a sneak attack on Anubis' new base, following intelligence brought by Jonas. One by one they get gunned down until only Jack reaches the control room, where he finds Jonas standing by Anubis' throne. Before Jonas can explain himself, Jack shoots him dead. Fade to black to the sound of staff weapons firing.

Or the Butch Cassidy ending:

Jack: How many Jaffa, d'you reckon?
Sam: Five or six, maybe.
<Outside, the entire Army of Anubis lines up and takes aim>
Daniel: Oh...good. For a moment there I thought we were in trouble.
<Teal'c raises an eyebrow. SG-1 dash out; fade to Sepia as staff blasts sound.>

This is getting gloomy; what about the Scooby Doo ending:

Sam explains to the sheriff how they worked out that Anubis' command ship was actually a balsawood mock-up designed to keep the work scared and make them think the SGC couldn't protect them. Teal'c rips off Anubis' mask to reveal...

Gasp!

...Senator Kinsey! Who would have gotten away with his plan to frighten the world into making him its absolute ruler if it hadn't of been for that meddling SG-1.

Jack makes a big bowl of ice cream; Teal'c steals and eats it.

I can see and agree with your sentiment, but:

I just don't seeing the just turning the lights off on the Stargate and calling it quits. Some really strange things would have to happen before TPTB could write that into a script...a lot of things.

It depends. If they've gone public and moved the Stargate to a new facility, they could be bidding farewell to Cheyenne Mountain and the SGC as was.
