    Story in a sentence.

Heyho. If you're just coming across this thread for the first time, don't sweat it. Read the below instructions and get stuck in. The more the merrier/randomer/sillier/perfecter. Continuity doesn't matter too much, you only really need to read the last few posts and go from there!

Anyway the premise is simple. Each person posts a sentence that continues from the last post and cumulatively we should have a rather brilliant story. Personally I think this is probably how Shakespeare worked. The posts can be as serious/silly/wild/random/mundane/emo as you like, as long as they bear some relation to the post before. Any and all pop-culture/completely made-up references are welcome, as long as they are also somehow Stargate Atlantis related (you can also include SG-1 characters if you like). Post-length can vary from a single word to half a sentence to about 3 sentences but remember, if you try and control where it's going too much, you ruin the fun, so in general try to keep it to one 'event' per post. On that, people have been replying to their own posts. Ruins the fun, and is just a little sad. Please don't. Also, to potential buzz kills, please, no 'and then they all died the end.' You will just be ignored. And of course, it goes without saying, it has to be clean. Lets see how this goes

Edit - if people could, where possible, put their story sentences in bold, so it's easier to differentiate between them and general comments. I am getting well confused...

    Sentence one:

Ronon took a breath, glancing at Teyla and tightening his grip. 'Are you ready?'

Science fiction movies are weak just where the science fiction novels are strong - on science. But they can supply something the novels can never provide - sensuous elaboration by means of images and sounds. Science fiction films are not about science. They are about disaster.

Brilliant! I hope this doesn't get moved either! Should there be some sort of time limit (days or weeks, something) to how long this goes on?

    Sentence Two:

"I am if you are. Let's do this." She replied with an alarmed tone.

    Sentence Three:

The Jumper door slowly lowered, then hit the floor with a dull 'thud'.

Sentence Four: And they went to celebrate the death of Dr. Elizabeth Weir.

...science/physics/universe can't tell good from bad, which means that both concepts are abstract and don't matter... don't be afraid of acting on this knowledge...

Sentence Four/Five (since four doesn't really fit):

As they stepped off the Jumper's ramp, they both raised their P90's, each fitted with a modulating energy weapon attached to the side.

        Sentence Five/Six:

The first Kull warrior went down without a hitch, but the second one proved quite a problem: it took six shots to kill; they where off.

I'm thinking until it's at least as long as the Divine Comedy. I reckon that's a reasonable literary comparison.

Also, can people stop putting two sentences in a post? The point of the game is that you can't control where the story is going to go. (Speech marks are an exception)

Suddenly, Sheppard came in on the radio. 'I think Mckay's been possessed and he's disguised as a Kull warrior! Watch where you shoot...'

yeah didn't see that one coming...

As Teyla and Ronon share a look of bemusement a small figure fastly approaches, with a barrell roll and a warrior cry of 'Yee Har,' Mr Woolsey opens fire!!

In fact, an alternate dimension where Woolsey had not just one heart, but thousands. Woolsey had become king of a cannibal planet!
