Whats your fav episodes?

Mine is travelers and THE DAEDALUS VARIATIONS. i loved these 2 episodes because that had a new enemy/race and cool peeps with ships. i wish there were more races of aliens/beings in sga. Too many humans. One of my fav things about Star trek NG and starwars was the many races of aliens and what their cultures are and how they affect everyone

Sorry, but I must respectfully disagree. The thing that made Stargate (SG-1 and Atlantis) interesting was that it was different. Turning it into a Star Wars/Trek rehash just makes it unmemorable. Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against the new-alien-a-week philosophy but we get enough of that in Trek without it spilling in onto other shows.

With that said, I mildly enjoyed Travelers but IMO on the whole it was poorly written. I did not enjoy Deadalus Variations in the slightest, I found it to be largely unimaginative and predictable. To me, SGA shines when it focuses on the unique premise that the show was all about in the first place.

Loved DV
And loved Broken Ties.
Although. On the side note. Gate being different from Trek in that regard is a good thing. For one it does save money. And for two, it makes the series different, and unique.

I don't like the Aliens of the Week on SGA either. It doesn't work, at all, for me. It didnt work on Trek either (for me). I tend to like it only if the show goes all out with the other races (a la Star Wars and Farscape).


As for fav SGA eps:
Tabula Rasa, over all. I like the way it was shot. And though memory loss and story reveals through flashback are not a new idea, I felt like the episode subtly investigated each character's null state (so to speak). Plus, there were some clever bits.

I'm also fond of Letter From Pegasus, Michael, Common Ground, Sunday (despite exploding tumors), Adrift, and The Last Man.

And for this season so far: Search & Rescue. I love good Ronon and Sheppard interaction.

Question is, what are aliens of the week? Can Daedalus Variation really be considered as one?

At the end of the day, what we have is a couple of scenes with unnamed unknown people in weird prosthetics/ make up shooting at Sheppard's Team and having said heroes shoot back at them. That can hardly be considered the same as the complicated Jaffa society, Asgard, or even - as undeveloped as it is - wraith society.

As for favourite SGA, for me it's Sunday, The Real World and Tao of Rodney.
