    stargate event horizon

hi, i was reading a previous thread on what would happen if you threw a stargate in the ocean, will it go through.

well i have a question, an add on to it if you will

lets say the stargate is under water.
we all know at least from very sentient water that water dosn't rush in the stargate. and the gate can tell what is passing through

but what if you were underwater, and went through it.
wouldn't the gate notice there was somthing else other than the water, and allow the water, and the person through

The stargate doesn't pull all the air from a world when a person passes through under normal circumstances (stargate in SGC, open air in field/where ever it happens to be on other planets).. I imagine the same would be true of water. It would only allow the person/object trying to enter the event horizon to actually pass through it.
