Dear PTB,

Today it's the 28th of July.

I think it's the perfect date to say something profound. To... do something big. I feel like 'we the Shippers' can take on the world and make a difference.
But we won't.
The reason for that is that we're having way to much fun doing what we do now. We're glued to our screens and stuck on our seats. Yes, PTB, this is what makes Shippers in general peacefull beings.

Now, let's talk Ship.
In my last letter I wrote about the PTB/Shippers Ship. And I still think it needs a proper resolution. I'm willing to work on that, so how about lunch? Just the...100+ of us. Nice and cosey in a dark little restaurant where we can light some candles and stare at eachother. It's been eight years since we first admitted we cared about eachother, do you remember?
We were standing and looking at our TV's... You were sitting in your chairs telling us that you cared a lot more than you were supposed to...
I know D&C was a way to get closer to us and that ''The Room'' was a metaphor for ''The Shipthread''. We ARE Sam and Jack!

Here:
-Eleven years and counting
-Other parties who cannot find out about our feelings for it will lead to battle and envy
-We have closet Shippers, too (Delurk already!)
-Our families may not understand our choices, but they support them because they're happy when we are
-We share Shippy hints
-We know what the other likes to eat, what sports the other likes and more...
-There are Pete's and Kerries
-...

Need I go on?

I think this date is a perfect one to tell the world we love eachother!

Anyway, I posted this before a couple of weeks ago (after the premiere of Search and Rescue) but I wanted to post it again? (Does anyone know where the list is?)

I wrote this as a shippy ending to Search and Rescue, and also made it a song-fic to Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles". Bear in mind, I wrote it BEFORE the ep aired, so many of the details are different from what actually happened. As always, reviews are always appreciated!

Oooh....today's Skiffy episode was End Game. I always felt so badly for Jack in this episode. It just showed how much conflict he was going through in Season 8. In the first part of this episode, you can tell things are a little strained between him and Sam (because of :eek:, of course).

But when his team's lives are in danger, and he couldn't find it in himself to go ahead with the orders he knew were right...even though it would probably cause their deaths...now there was a man truly in conflict with himself!

Although Hammond had held off on similar decisions in the past for SG-1...and although on some level, Jack must have realized this...he still felt weak for not being able to give the order he knew would resolve the danger quickly and cleanly.

But it wouldn't have been clean for him, would it? To have given the order that caused Sam, Daniel and Teal'c to die would have torn him apart. Not giving the order was his only way to protect them, and it was clear he would have preferred to be with them in the field, rather than back at the SGC.

Sigh...whoever said RDA phoned in S8 just didn't understand why Jack O'Neill was different! He was different because of his new role. Gone was the snarky Colonel who had only his field unit to protect. Instead, in the role of General in charge of the SGC, he had other priorities he was supposed to consider. But he was unable to do what his instincts told him he should, because his heart was still with his team. He didn't want to be "The Man," and this episode clearly illustrated it.

Poor Jack!

Have you ever read BadFic Pete and the Temple of Doom? Just google the title, it's the first thing to come up. Pete is written in the way we all wish we could see him--one dimensional and horrid. The rest of the characters are spot on. It's a really fun, long fic on how Pete could have gone bye-bye and Sam and Jack could have admitted their feelings.

I first noticed the ship in: That's hard for me to say, because thanks to friends and fanfic, I was a shipper before I ever saw an episode. I think I enjoyed the chemistry in COTG though.

I was hooked as an S/J shipper in: Emancipation. I love the way he looks at her when she's in the blue dress.

My favourite Sam/Jack moment: Oy, that's hard to answer... I think... uh... I'm not sure! Favorite moment is so much more difficult than favorite episode. *ponders* I think I might have to agree iwth Rachel again and say the WoO kiss. It's the only one where at least one of them was really themselves, and conscious, and not in an AU. Sucks for Sam that she doesn't remember it, but I think it's really sweet that if Jack could do anything without consequences, he'd be with Sam. Plus, it was early in the relationship, so there was an innocence to it.

My favorite Sam/Jack episode is: Huh. Earlier today I said Moebius, now I'm going to say Beneath the Surface. I love that their feelings were so core to who they are that not even a mind stamp could erase them.

My worst moment as a Sam/Jack shipper: Keeping in mind that I've really only watched through the end of S8, I would say the conversation in the lab when she shows Jack the ring. I watch the expressions on his face and I just hurt so much for him.

My best moment as a Sam/Jack shipper: Did I just say this would be an easier question to answer? Huh. Dagnabit. The best moment for me as a shipper... would have to be watching the intro to Threads and knowing they were finally going to do something with all the hints they'd given us in previous years.

Why I love Sam/Jack as a ship: Because I'm a romantic at heart.

Whoo!!! To contribute to the post count, I'm quickly adding more projects:

Jess's Top Ten Favorite S/J episodes

1. Threads (All time favorite! It's angst, fluff, resolution, and ship all rolled into one ep!)
2. Divide and Conquer (Which premiered 8 years ago!)
3. Lost City (I just love the S/J interaction, as well as the team interaction.)
4. Entity (Oh, the ANGST! So beautifully portrayed by RDA and AT.)
5. Window of Opportunity (I think someone needs to post some pics for THAT scene!)
6. Metamorphosis (Again, loved their interaction, and I love when Sam cuddles up to Jack when she's trying to sleep! Pics someone?)
7. Out of Mind (When I think they first realized their feelings went deeper)
8. Beneath the Surface (Even when their memories are gone, love still draws them together (like MAGNETS!!! LOL!!))
9. Grace (the best kiss EVER!!!)
10. Point of View (very ANGSTY, but it kinda brings Sam and Jack's relationship into a whole new light!)

Whoo!!! To contribute to the post count, I'm quickly adding more projects:

Jess's Top Ten Favorite S/J episodes

1. Threads (All time favorite! It's angst, fluff, resolution, and ship all rolled into one ep!)
2. Divide and Conquer (Which premiered 8 years ago!)
3. Lost City (I just love the S/J interaction, as well as the team interaction.)
4. Entity (Oh, the ANGST! So beautifully portrayed by RDA and AT.)
5. Window of Opportunity (I think someone needs to post some pics for THAT scene!)6. Metamorphosis (Again, loved their interaction, and I love when Sam cuddles up to Jack when she's trying to sleep! Pics someone?)
7. Out of Mind (When I think they first realized their feelings went deeper)
8. Beneath the Surface (Even when their memories are gone, love still draws them together (like MAGNETS!!! LOL!!))
9. Grace (the best kiss EVER!!!)
10. Point of View (very ANGSTY, but it kinda brings Sam and Jack's relationship into a whole new light!)

Oh my goodness. This just cracked me up... I love it! I don't have a Sam doll, so I just say my Jack doll just stands there pining for the day that Sam arrives. Well actually he said it walked the line between close friendship and flirty...so see it as you may according to RCC but see it as siblingy according to JM - and I'm quite happy with that. :)

I was hooked as an S/J shipper in: Broca Divide - OK so alien influence but come on! They kissed!

My favourite Sam/Jack moment: Tough choice but I'm going with the WoO kiss - our Sam and Jack and just underscored that Jack really did admit to loving Sam in D&C.

My favourite Sam/Jack episode: Beneath the Surface - when everything else about their lives is gone, their love remains.

My worst moment as a Sam/Jack shipper: Tough choice again but I'm going for Ripple Effect and the almost-kiss with Martouf - it was almost enough to make me walk away from the franchise completely as I saw it as a break of trust between TPTB and the audience.

My best moment as a Sam/Jack shipper: 'Always' although if I ever get unequivocal confirmation that may beat it!

Why I love Sam/Jack as a ship: Because it's all about soul mates; it gives me hope.

What I love about the Sam/Jack Ship Day: It celebrates love

I was hooked as an S/J shipper in: I was crossed between Emancipation/Broca Divide, I just loved the way Jack looked at Sam in that dress and then the way he teased her and was relentless in getting her back and damn well before Turghan could 'sample his latest buy'. And then Broca just reaffirmed my love for Sam/Jack! :)

My favourite Sam/Jack moment: D&C, the entire confession scene. Hands down, I just love it - just so touching and moving - everytime I watch I'm hit the same way as I was the first time I watched it.

My favourite Sam/Jack episode: Entity probably...as it had ship through out, just so angsty and you could see how much Jack cared for Sam. Heartbreaking.

My worst moment as a Sam/Jack shipper: I'm just going to copy and paste your answer here because I absolutely agree. Are We Obsessed?
Around our computers we huddle and pray
that Jack and Sam will be together someday.

We really miss Jack, we all agree,

Oma, I just read the next installment in the Laundry Wars, and I loved it. Perhaps chapter three could come in time for Thanksgiving? (what do we call that holiday around here anyway?)
