    Two way wormhole?

Ok I didn't recognize this when I first started watching the series but in the very first episode of Stargate SG-1, Children of the Gods, Apophis, Teal'c and other Jaffa came through the Gate. The grabbed that girl and headed back through the gate. This means that the Gate must have been a two way wormhole because they never shut down the gate and even if they did there was no way to dial back home as they did not leave the embarkation room.

I was wondering if anybody else seen this mistake from the directors?

No if you watch it more closely after he comes through in a later scene it shows Apophis and in the background the wormhole is gone, in a scene a few min later it is then back meaning he remotely activated it to send him back. Probably used a device to activate it without the kawoosh effect and the sound. That kind of device has been seen before on the show. Please use the search option too because this has been covered so many times.

Either that or the Jaffa are really quick studies of Earth computer technology.

It's like the device that Cassandra has in the future in the episode 1969.

          Spoiler:
a device capable of dialing the gate

And yes, this topic has been done to death. You've got to keep in mind, this was the first episode, TPTB were still ironing out the kinks.
          Meh.

              The jaffa manually dialed it.

And powered it with sheer fiercitude.

The gate was still connected to the powergrid for some reason (those clamps) so wouldn't the base provide the power?

Most likely. I was just being facetious.
