Lets face it, the Ancients were overrated, sure Atlanits is a wonder and all but in terms of weapons the only really powerful thing is drones, limited to their numbers.

I Agree! The asgard are wonderous. the ancients have no regard for non-ascended people. completely pathetic. and not that powerful.

They were too uber so the writers stopped them from participating.
Also you're forgetting the Ancients died out hundreds of years ago, they technologies more advanced just outdated.

But the Asgard have been around for but a fraction of time the Ancients have been around, even though the Ancients died out/ascended, the Ancient weaponary and technology should be still far more advanced than the Asgard.

OOO, and the Asgard show some respect and lend a helping hand to the species that the Ancients would deem 'below' them.

Look at it this way, the Asgard, who aren't even from this galaxy took it upon thwmselves to form the treaty protecting over 26 planets from the Goa'uld, the Ancients abandoned the Pegasus Galaxy's human population to be fed upon by the Wraith.

The Asgard, if they were around for as long as the Ancients would be far more technologically advanced, oh and still have morals...

I would think that any other advanced race would learn by now. Both the Tollan and the Ancients thought they were 'superior' and neither of them are around now to tell their story. Whereas the Asgard were just very unfortunate with there genetic disease and all.

The Asgard surely beat the Ancients. An Asgard fully powered hyperdrive is hundreds if not thousands of times faster than the fastest Ancient Hyperdrive. The Asgard beam transporter is more advanced than the Ancients rings and Eye of the Gods transporters. The Asgard holography is as advanced as the Ancients (except Merlin's but it was created with ascended knowlegde). The Asgard shields are superior to any ancient ship shield (after unending). Only the city shield is as advanced. The Asgard power source can do anything an ancient powersource can do. The Asgard Plasma Beam Weapon is as advanced as any Ancient weapon. The Asgard have internal dampening fields that prevent any explosion (even naquadah enhanced) from occuring. The Asgard can project holograms from lightyears away and still allow the people that use the hologram to see the enviroment. The Asgard can scan the area around earth for hyperspace activity from their distant galaxy. The Asgard can project a timedialation field with a radius of 0.16 lightyears. The Asgard ships look way cooler than the Ancient ships. The Asgard can dial another galaxy with a small stone and dial it very quick. The Asgard can collapse a sun in a blackhole even though naturally the sun would never have become a black hole. The Asgard are polite (The are never like you are lowers, we are superior) and are always ready to help people.

This should be enough to praise our favorite race.

exactly, they are better than the ancients because they could make there technology better than the ancients themselves.
