The Stargate Home Theater by Visual Concepts

Sci-fi addict enjoys intergalactic experience with Stargate screen 10 feet in diameter.

The screen in the Stargate Home Theater is 10 feet in diameter and is modeled after the popular Stargate Atlantis TV series and movie.

06.16.2008 — Home theater designer Phil Chaney and sci-fi addict Andrew Caldwell teamed up for this Stargate Home Theater that's ready for intergalactic travel.

Caldwell, a huge fan of The Stargate Atlantis TV series and movie, went to Chaney, president of the Louisville division of Visual Concepts, with the idea of recreating the Stargate Atlantis for his theater.

The theater features the iconic round "Stargate" as the frame for the screen that is 10 feet in diameter. There's also dual projectors, with one projecting a round water-filled scene.

Check out this Stargate Home Theater (http://www.cepro.com/article/the_stargate_home_theater_by_visual_concepts/) from Visual Concepts.

It has the iconic round "Stargate" as the frame for the screen that is 10 feet in diameter. The also has a StarDome with a sky mural and lights that dim.

It also features air-piston driven pocket doors that open by a hand-swipe motion sensor and acoustic sound panels that replicate the wall panels used on the Atlantis TV series.

It was owned and partly designed by Andrew Caldwell. He's a sci-fi addict and drew his inspiration for this theater from the Stargate Atlantis TV show and movie.

Looks interesting, but I don't think I would want to watch something on a circular screen.

Stargate home theater gets us all geeky inside

excerpt:

Here’s somebody with a Stargate fetish and lots of spare change in his pocket. A guy by the name of Andrew Caldwell apparently contracted a home theater outfit called Visual Concepts to build him a Stargate-themed home theater room. Sweet!

You gotta SEE the photo of the theater….

Well, it's not like it's merchandise. It was special order/designed, so this really belongs under FANDOM, not Merchandise. You can't go to Best Buy or Home Depot, so, if you have to ask .... ;)

Stargate Theater

http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/06/18/stargate-themed-home-theater-saves-you-a-trip-to-space/

Designer Phil Chaney teamed up with science fiction addict Andrew Caldwell to create a Stargate-themed lair
that could probably lift off at any moment. The room is decked out with
stars, ambient lighting, Atlantic Technology in-wall speakers, a
Control 4 system and an elusive Blu-ray player to boot. Nah, it won't
be easy to recreate this one without some serious cash (and space), but
those still waiting to receive SciFi HD can torture themselves further
by checking out the slideshow in the read link.

The only thing that would make this any more cool would be simulating the gate activating.
