Good list! I'm hoping Blink (tough choice between it and Human Nature/Family of Blood) and Stardust win, and I was pleasantly surprised to see Captain Jack Harkness up there.

Must read some of the novels listed.....sadly don't know any of the short stories either.

I'm torn between "Blink" and "Human Nature/Family of Blood" as well. I suspect that Human Nature will win this time, but I prefer Moffat's work.

For film, I think I'll cheer for Enchanted. I like Stardust, but I prefer the book.

Thank the gods I'm not the only one surprised by that. People seemed genuinely happy about Torchwood's existence so I checked it out and I was appalled. It's not award worthy.

I enjoyed "Blink", one of the best episodes of Who I've seen.

Thanks for posting this! I was wondering when the nominees would come out.

Out of the five novel nominees I've only read Brasyl. For the life of me, I don't know why Scalzi keeps on getting nominated. Sure his books are a fun weekend read, but they're largely "homages" of Heinlein and Haldeman, and those two did it far better.

'Captain Jack Harkness' was genuinely touching TV, and very much worth checking out.

I'd say the same thing about Razor...

Blink for the win! And Harry Potter for the lose!

I agree- the rest of that first season was pretty forgettable, but Captain Jack Harkness was a wonderful hour of television; it made me teary.

I am suprised that they chose that Torchwood episode. Season 1 is rocky at best, but Season 2 is better. I recall liking a few episodes from Season 1, but "Captain Jack Harkness" definitely isn't one of them.

Both Doctor Who nominations can easily beat that episode.
