    The Rest of Rodney's Life

    So now we know that somewhere around the age of 65, McKay was able to execute his plan to save Sheppard and by extension the timeline.

    So what did he do afterward?

    He should have a decent 20-30 years left, possibly much more considering the integration of Stargate tech into contemporary medicine. What do you think he did now that he had no research to conduct or purpose to fulfill?

    Probably become quiet, unresponsive, and bitter. Rodney has always been a goal-oriented person, even if that goal was little more than proving himself smarter than that upstart blond girlie.

    But in this, his goal was simple: rewrite history to change all the dark things that took his friends, his surrogate family, and even his real family away from him. With Jennifer gone, his sister abandoning him, and everyone else dead or unaccounted for, Rodney without a goal is a Rodney that doesn't know how to live life.

        Not to be pedantic but McKay was closer to 67.

        Lets just say McKay is 40 now, then he spent another year on Atlantis, then he spent another year on earth (now he is 42) then he spent the next 25 years trying to fix the timeline.

          He died. simple as that.
          Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth or easy...

          ... or that any man can measure the tides and hurricanes he will
          encounter on the strange journey.

          Spoiler:

          2 Cor. 10:3-5
          3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
          4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; )
          5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
