Ancients or us, who would win?

if we were to go against the ancients (pre ascended) who do you think would win?

Baring in mind that we pretty much have the same as what they have and the asgard tech.

it really depend are we in control of atlantis or are they because atlantis would tip the blance for either side

I agree with Fugiman... BUT if we don't have the Hero shield in place, i fully believe we would get our collective butts handed to us. WHY//./. The Ancients knew the full capabilities of their tech, while some we are still strugglling to control/learn.

Ancients...
Earth would be nothing without their asgard weapons, and our shields would only last so long when ancients use their drones.

in bamsr we won because we could stop them with the blob thing. ancients arent replicators, they cant be stoped with a blob thingy.. and we were gonna get screwed within a minute before the blob thing worked. and earth has 3 ships, they have a freaking city with alot of auroras that we havent even discovered. we die. we're winning right now cuz the writers killed off most of the advanced civilizations.

Its hard to say, the Ancients rely heavily on their technology while we rely on tactics & combat experience.

What I mean by tactics & combat experience is that for thousands of years humans of Earth have been shaped by war & conflict, meaning we are gear towards war. Our development & technolgy has pretty much came about through wars.

Thats what I think anyway.

While I'm sure Earth would put up one hell of a fight... the Ancients would roll over us in no time at all. They'd simply equip dozens upon dozens of Aurora-class cruisers with 2 or 3 ZPMs and send them to Earth. They'd probably have some way to completely negate the Antarctic outpost, and then would just fire off ten thousand drones into our cities and ships.

Us, hands down. Even the Goa'uld would have defeated the Ancients. People make a lot of the defeat of the Ancients at the hands of the Wraith, but there's nothing spectacular about it. The Ancients were a race of Einsteins - except better looking. Imagine the fat kid wearing thick glasses from high school who could understand differential calculus, and yet got beat up by the jocks all the time. The Ancients were a race of those guys. All they could do is create technology. They were completley helpless when it came to fighting a race of jocks like the Wraith, who were far more aggressive, brave, cunning and callous.

To bad our three ships, one defense platform and tons of Earth based weapons are no match for the entire Ancinet Armada so unless we have a ground based war we have no chance of course if we did it would be like fighting an army of Priors so then we are still screwed so it pretty much comes down to that

We'd get destroyed. The Asurans basically were Ancients, and had TPTB not hampered them with stupid plotholes, they rightly would have annhiliated us. They may not be much for fighting, but they have the know-how to wipe us out utterly and completely.

Let's say we send our 3 ships to a reborn Lantean homeworld. They drop out of hyperspace and are immediately fired upon by dozens of ZPM-powered Auroras. Our beams do nothing to these ships thanks to their ZPM boost, and their drones start to deplete our shields (assuming our shields are drone proof). Then the drones from the surface hit us, and the Apollo is destroyed. We start to blast away at some of the ships, but there are too many of them. A trio of orbital defense satellites (smaller versions of the "Siege" one) open fire as well, and the Daedalus is blasted away.

Now the Odyssey retreats, jumping away to Atlantis. But mere minutes later, the Lantean fleet arrives in full, and blasts our ship to bits. Atlantis launches its supply of drones, but they hardly scratch at the armada in orbit. They bombard the cityshield with energy blasts until it fails, then beam down a contingent of soldiers. The soldiers are able to hold off the Earth guards long enough for one of the Lanteans to activate the control device (right in front of the gate in "Return") and shut down the city. We're forced to surrender as the fleet in orbit begins firing drones into the sides of the tower, killing dozens.




See? If you take away the hero shields and such, they'd utterly blow us away.
