I seriously doubt we'll see any promos until the fall. Really. The MGM site isn't going to be updated much if at all during the downtime between seasons. There is the chance that in the summer, Skiffy may put together a trailer for the upcoming season, but again, think it'll be August/September before we see it. They're going to concentrate on pushing BSG in March, and EUREKA whenever that is back, and of course, Ghost Hunters and its ilk until we can't take it anymore ;)

Most of that footage is actually pre-season 5, the wraith hive blowing up was part of last seasons finale ... and atlantis being hit was of a previous episode.

But I don't believe I've seen that bit with Ronon

I think this close to July 11, SciFi would have enough footage available to show only S5 clips. There isn't an awful lot of time in 15 seconds when 2 or 3 are more or less "credits". SciFi normally does that, though. They just remix a little bit of new stuff into old promos. Something is better than the absolute lack of anything so far! LOL

Yup, worst ad ever. Give away the very end of the episode in the ad. but then they did that with SG1 when the show was on. Only way to avoid it is to NOT watch the 'next week's' epsiode, and avoid SciFi the rest of the week to avoid tripping over ads.

That sounds to me like Neil Peart's deliberate mis-quote in Rush's "The Spirit of Radio" of Paul Simon's lyrics in "Sound of Silence." "The words of the prophet on the subway wall" gets turned into "the words of the profit were written on the studio wall, concert hall." :D

Because they're smart enough to know that there are people who've quit watching who'd start watching again if Torri was back.

SciFi don't know wat the heck they are doing, I'd say whoever made the promo and included Weir was thinking more about the cool line, and tbh when it comes to SciFi I wouldn't be suprised if they weren't even aware that Torri isn't coming back. Plus, considering that by the last few episodes season 4 was pulling the best viewer numbers since early season 2, I don't think they are that bothered about clinching every last possible viewer to build up numbers.

Frankly where SciFi is concerned, they aren't usually bothered about SGA on a bad day. I think they find it easier to just cancel shows that they aren't 100% commited to and replace them with something worse like Flash Gordon or Ghost Hunters. Considering SGA doesn't actually belong to them, I'd say it comes under the 'not 100% commited to' label.

That sounds to me like Neil Peart's deliberate mis-quote in Rush's "The Spirit of Radio" of Paul Simon's lyrics in "Sound of Silence." "The words of the prophet on the subway wall" gets turned into "the words of the profit were written on the studio wall, concert hall." :D

I think the most important thing is that it's false advertising. They're using her in the promo as though she's going to be there in season five.

Exactly, I don't think that the people who made this promo included Weir (which I agree is horribly misleading) because they were deliberately trying to deceive the fans I think they included her because they have never watched an episode of SGA in their lives, know nothing about the characters or plot lines so they just threw a bunch of "cool" clips together. I doubt the people behind the promo even realise she isn't in the show any more.

IMO, they think that having her in the promos will make people think she'll be back. Comes off like a desperate grab for viewers to me.

it's a SCI FI promo, they often make mistakes. however I do understand why they chose to include her since she will in fact be back in GitM. not the actress but IIRC at least her consciousness. the war with the replicators isn't over and I'm sure the casual viewer's expecting the continuation of this arc

Then, do NOT watch SGA until the next epsiode. Avoid DOCTOR WHO or any other show you like as they will show an which will show a spoiler... ;)

But the prophet stuff did have me a little worried, so thanks. :) I'm not sure how the kid could be a prophet while still a baby, but I was afraid they were going to move into some kind of "chosen one" fullfillment of prophecy type nonsense.

You'll find at least three listings, one of which is, hmm, gnarly? I do find it surprising to some extent (but not to others) that this material is just publicly out there. I'm just gonna wait patiently until I get my S4 DVD Box set in a few weeks.:)

If they are going to do a Teyla/Kanaan story arc then please recast him .. I'm sure the actor portraying the K character is nice and all but he never shows any emotion and comes off as being a robot plus I see no chemistry between him and Rachel in any of their scenes together :rolleyes:

well, that goes back to my point. even if kanaan is conflicted, like in kindred II, michael's control will always win. from the promos (I haven't caved and watched the leaked S&R like others :D), you could say he looks "conflicted" when seeing his son for the first time.

Uh huh... I will send the link to anyone who requests it. I don't post it here as in case MGM is testy, don't want the link compromised, but PM is fine.

My point, however, is that no fan needs to join a group in order to see pictures that are available on sites that do not require registration.

But those who are dying for big shots, they photos are actually better in small version, probably because they're once again photoshopped. When you see shadows where they shouldn't exist *cough*
