Fastest ftl in any scifi universe.

What is the fastest ftl in any scifi. I would think wormholes are the fastest because they are almost instantaneous. What do you think?

The thing at the end of the Ender's Game universe, where they just hopped outside the edge of the universe and came back in at whatever point they wanted.

Guild Foldspace from Dune. Instantaneous transport between any two places as long as the Navigator's prescient abilities can predict a safe course.

For the Ender's Game reference, you get green.

        And yes, Jane is amazing.

How does it work? Does it say in the book?

            Spoiler:
Jane, a sentient computer program created in the phioltic connections between "ansibles" (FTL communications devices), has the ability to determine exactly what, down to the subatomic level, an object is made of. Since she has almost-infinite computing power, she can determine the exact composition of anything, and everything inside it. Once this is knows, all that is needed is to hold this perfect description in one's mind and will it to another point in the universe.

But again, only Jane, since she has all this computing power, could ever hope to make it work.

The first bit is essential to the Heisenburg Uncertainty theory that says you can either know where an atom is or where it is going but never both-This Jane looks like it as found a way around that(As sci-fi's with transporters have)

How bout' the Lexx? It can travel across the universe very quickly (in a matter of weeks). Plus, it looks cool. Maybe not fast but very efficient.
You look but you do not see. You listen but you do not hear. You cannot accept us, but we are here to stay. You think we are just a shadow, a bad memory that will go away if you ignore us long enough but we won't.

We are human too whether you like it or not. We are here and our time is now. Together we can only soar. We will remain strong forever more, and nothing can quell our pride.

Got to agree with you, the wormhole traveling time is less than 1 second.
                        so its the wormhole.

Isn't this a thread on the fastest FTL DRIVES rather than fastest ways to get around the universe. Wormhole are not an FTL until there is a device that creates one. From what I've seen the Asgard hyperdrives are the best, covering millions of light years in minutes-thats travelling so fast that you could not see Star Trek as it would be a blended in with the rest of space.

Ender's Game still wins, even WITH the wormhole. Not only is the range unlimited with Jane, but it literally works by you being here one instant, then there the next. Range has no effect. If you're talking "conventional" FTL though - hyperdrive, warp, etc - then probably asgard do win.

Its not so much conventional that I was saying but more artificially created as this Ender's Game Jane thing is rather than John Chritons Wormhole predictions as they are natural phenomenon. Jane would be the fastest with the Asgard not far behind relatively speaking
