Core drive of Replicator tracking system

how come this system didn't work for Repli-Keller to keep track and warn them of the approaching Replicator ship? Interesting also to note that the real SGA team did not question the security of the core drive may be to Atlantis. Did they check the core drive for a hidden homing beacon? When the replicator ship found the location of the repli-SGA, how can the real SGA team be sure that they track a 'hidden transponder', as what Repli-Weir said, and not the core drive it self?

Because they weren't smart enough to check for approaching ships : when there is a danger of being discovered , only a human could come up with the idea of checking periodically the surroundings for enemies ...

This also explains why the Asurans had no security/authentication system in place in 'Lifeline' (so that the SGA team could mess up with their programming) . In short , the Asurans are just as incapable as the Lanteans whenever the plot requires it.

they did use it thats how they knew the replicators were coming so it did warn them. What were they going to do about it? They didnt have enough power to raise shields let alone fly the city.

thanks, redrama9. I watch the show again and according to repli-Keller, the creation of the clones took too much power and they did not have enough ZPM with them.

Regarding the core drive, I find it too convenient for clone-Weir to just explain away that the replicators were tracking a hidden transponder on the puddle jumper when, I think, throughout the episode after the real SGA were presented the core drive, they never raise a need to examine the drive for a homing beacon/ transponder.

That's trivial : the writers have the absolute power . They can for example decide that the city has enough power to fly away. Or they could decide that the other Asurans aren't able to track down the city.

The concept of "rebel Asurans" could have been interesting : they could have added complexity to this race that is otherwise boringly evil . They could have become valuable allies .

It's a shame that these rebels get destroyed in the very same episode in which they are introduced.

There are no reasons to congratulate the writers for the lack of vision demonstrated by not taking the chance to add some very interesting allies to the show .
