Reruns?

Why is Sci-Fi already running reruns of season 8? It's getting annoying since I have limited access to a cable tv that gets the sci-fi station. Does anyone know why this is happening? I could understand if the season was over but....it just started!!!!

Sci-fi runs an interrupted season for Stargate and many other shows. They show half the season and then pick up again in January.

We just had the "Summer Finale" of Endgame, so they'll show reruns until January. Someone said that this has something to do with cable series not running in competition to major network broadcast series (which just started the new Fall seasons), but since I don't watch major network broadcast television, I wouldn't know and I don't care...I just get annoyed that the UK will be ahead of the US come January.
