Farscape dedicated section

I think it's time that Farscape gets its own section on the forum. I requested this before when the forum was originally expanded but nothing came of it. With new episodes and new interest in it, a Farscape dedicated section would do quite well.

I would bet it would out do the Lost, Firefly and Smallville sections as far as # of posts and traffic.

If you agree, please make yourself known, and maybe just maybe Darren will listen. :)

Im all for it, as the regular thread is terribly cluttered. But, like you said I think it has been discussed before and Im not sure if the announcement of a web-series is enough to warrant a new forum. If it were, you'd think there would be a Sanctuary one as well.

I also think Farscape should have it's own forum section. Stargate and Farscape are very much connected, imo. Because of Claudia Black and Ben Browder who helped get 2 more seasons of SG-1, helping it to break records! Also the movies they are staring in shows more support. Many Scapers have come onto the Stargate world, and a lot of Stargate fans like myself have gone to watch Farscape. These two shows used to share Sci-fi Friday. Things were great back then.

So, I vote for a Farscape section!!! :)

I am all for us Farscape fans having our own section. I gave up on the Farscape appreciation thread along time ago because there is no way to expand on just one thread. This way we can start episode discussion threads, each character could get there own dedicated thread, a Peace Keeper Wars thread ...etc...

I also agree that a Farscape section would out do half of the existing sections in Alternate Universes.

My Farscape Appreciation Thread has been around for quite some time now. There is a lot that has been discussed on it, ranging from all possible topics about Farscape. It can appear cluttered at times, so I'd be all for Farscape getting it's own section here on GW. I just hope my thread would be moved to become a part of that section.:)

I'll second this as well as I could then pick and chose what "spoilers" I see... (I'm on the last third of season 2, so i'd rather not know the outcome of any of the major arcs hence I avoid all Internet sources lol. I can't, and wouldn't, ask folk on the Farscape Appreciation thread to spoiler tag everything I haven't seen. That's just bad karma.)

Count me in as well!. Farscape is such a deep and wonderfully twisted show. Now with new programming on the way, it's time to give Farscape it's own section to let Moya fly. ;) I already have some great idea's for new threads involving each character, I also love the idea of episode discussions (as mentioned above) where people that haven't seen the show won't accidently read something they didn't want to. And people that have seen it, can talk about it without having to use spoiler tags every time.

With this new announcement, Darren might consider a dedicated folder. With the show airing in syndication, I think it warrants one, but I've always understood why Darren has never created one.

I read the appreciation thread sometimes and it would be nice to be able to divide up the topics.

We are just saying we'd like one. The Farscape thread is more active than any Star Wars thread is. I'm sure once the Star Wars shows get closer they will have a good chance of getting a forum.

Well, he has a point. There probably isn't enough interest. There probably isn't enough interest for a Smallville or Firefly thread right now either. The point of this thread is to show that there is interest in Farscape (not to show it's better than Star Wars) and one of the reasons previously cited was shows that are in production have a better shot at a sub-forum. Yes we are probably jumping the gun with this thread, but hey, Scapers are a dedicated bunch.

But yeah, it's Darren's site and he can do what he wants, I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.

Yes, Farscape should indeed have it's own forum. The characters are well developed and lovable, the acting is superb, the writing is great, and the special effects are nearly motion picture quality. What's not to love? And just like Stargate, I think Darren should create sections for each season, including one for the PKW. I would very much like to have a Farscape section. Bring it on!!!

I'm hoping that as well. These webisodes have to mean something more is potentially in the works. I really think they are testing the waters here. If these webisodes are received well by us fans, I really think we may see more of Farscape made.

I'm not sure how I feel about whether or not to bring back all, some or none of the original cast. As much as I loved the actors and characters, having a completely fresh slate would work just fine for me personally. If just one person from the original cast comes back, I hope its Wayne Pygram as indomitable Scorpius. It's nice that the Jim Henson comapany is on baord as well. Plus I am Frelling sick and tired of hearing BSG's rip-off word - Frak. Long live Frell. ;)

I just signed up to these forums to say - yes that would rock. I watched Farscape when it first came on, and only watched my first ever Stargate 3 month ago. I watch this forum every so often but have never bothered to sign up.

Anyway, it kinda makes sense, the Farscape Appreciation Thread is huge, and huge threads are kinda hard to follow topics, esepcially when its such a diverse topic as something which should have its own forum section.

The news about the webisodes rocked, I just hope they get back a load of the original cast. They could carry on with the story as (PKW spoiler) the balance John struck between the scarrans and the peacekeepers is going to be fragile at best. Also he's lost the wormhole knowledge so that would make for something fresh too.. Let's hope this rekindles the series.

To be honest Farscape deserves its own forum topic regardless of whether or not it's coming back, but as it's kinda coming back, well we need somewhere to discuss the webisodes otherwise it will just clutter this forum section.

I think that is why fans are excited. I think the webisodes will do extremly well. Heck I just picked up Farscape about 2 months ago, I am in the middle of Season 3. Decided to watch the show because I rather enjoyed Black and Browder in Season 10 of SG-1. So I wanted to see them in something else, something they were truly known for. :)

Darren mentioned in the Forum Announcements section that a dedicated Farscape folder was under consideration but it depended on how much conversation there was about the show on the forum. He did mention that if a Farscape folder were to be created it would occur closer to the airing of the web series.

Exactly Xicer, I would bet that a Farscape section would outdo Smallville, Lost, Firefly and probably even Heroes. Maybe Darren could just delete one of the slower sections to make room for Farscape if he is concerned about site space. I think the more the merrier, why not turn this already epic site into an even more scifi inclusive site.

I think a Farscape section would be a good thing too! I watched it from the start and was blown away by how original it was. It had a fantastic collection of characters and a believable universe in which they lived. That to me is what a good show does!

I do wander into the 'Appreciation' thread on occasion but find that it does suffer from being too cluttered and that's a real shame given the interesting discussions that I have tried to keep up with. Surely this is a pretty good sign that there is a large number of people interested in discussing all things Farscape and its own section in GW would do quite well! To hear that it is coming back as webisodes is music to my ears and can only help to further persuade Darren to agree with the clamouring masses here! :D

Yeah, my thread has become pretty cluttered. But I don't think anyone there really minds if repeat things are brought up. We welcome everybody to post whatever they want to about the show. All we can do is hope for some back-up some time soon in the form of a full Section for Farscape conversation.
