I have seen on a couple occasions a HUD on daedalus class ships similar to the hud on the puddle jumper. How come they never mention it or use it much

While it looks cool it doesn't seem that useful. It's at the front window which is like 15 feet away from any workstations which I'm sure all have their own displays. So while it may be useful to show the ship's commander something when there's really nothing going on, during a battle it would be pointless to use.All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing-Edmund Burke

I'd recon a HUD would come in handy pretty well for the people firing the guns or controlling the turrets. And also for the navigator to plot the most effective and savest course or best evasive manouvers during a battle. And of course for the chief engineer so he can see which parts of the ship have been damaged. And not to mention how much fun it would be if you interlinked all those specialised huds so lets say the engineer can show the navigator which parts of the ship need to be steered away from battle or for the turret controller to see which parts need extra protection.
HUDs are pretty effective in a lot of cases because you can simply display all the information needed for a specific task and then interlink the systems so lets say the engineer can send information to the other HUDs. That way you eliminate the verbal factor in combat which usually is a weakness.Signed,

Example situation where it would make sense using the Daedalus forward window HUD:
-Daedalus drops out of hyperspace into an astroid feild.
-Commander: "Are we at the correct cordinates?"
-Navigator: "Yes, sir. We are at the cordinates received in the burst transmission from the Apollo. They should be here somewhere, sir."
-Tactical: "Sir, I'm picking up an EM signiture coming from one of the larger astroids."
-Commander: "Where? Which one?"
-Tactical: "This one, sir." (Red circle surrounding one of the astroids in the distance appears on the forward window)
That makes sense don't it? Reasonable way to use it. Saves a lot of explaining time and the commander don't have to get up and go to the tactical station to look at the tactical screen.

i just like how they twist the back wall we see behind caldwell in the daedleus from horizontal to vertical in the apollo and just change its colored lights -haha (prolly odyssey and prommie 2..not even moros/meirden/merlin nor the rest of the ancients, could find a cure... for male pattern baldness!
What?.. Its a ship that goes through the gate.
...Or it could mean a piece of our leg...
In the middle of my backswing!?
That function is not possible
However, I must admit that I am partial to the tater tots.

It would be very handfull. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing-Edmund Burke
