In science fiction, there is death but no one really dies.

There's always some way a character can be resurrected.

The original Star Trek got cancelled but it returned with movies and several TV series spinoffs that all lasted longer than the original.

    Published: Sunday, June 17, 2007

Like any good tour guide, publicist Carol Appleby took us to where it all began.

With science-fiction television phenomenon Stargate SG-1 set to end its 10-year run Thursday on the Space network, the first-ever, international press junket to the Burnaby studios of the MGM show -- and its spinoff Stargate Atlantis -- began in the Gate Room.

The room is home to the Stargate, the round, alien device that has allowed the intrepid members of SG-1 to instantaneously transport themselves to new planets for new shows and an ever-increasing Guinness Book of Records mark for the longest-running North American science-fiction series.

Joe spent a year in Paris writing for a French magazine so yeah he's fluent in French but probably a bit rusty at speaking it!

Definitely great reads. Nice to hear what the cast of SG-1 will be up to.

I sure hope we get more SG-1 movies down the road.

He was speaking it at the con in Vancouver last year, too. Someone asked him a question in French. It seemed like he was still comfortable with it.

Thanks for the links, Ali!!! I will go find spinspinspin for some green!
