i was watching the episode allies and i noticed that when they are doing a zoom in job on the orion, there are these things sticking up on tthetop of the ship. i have two theories. one is they are close combat weapons for the same purpose as the daedaluses rail guns, the other is they are some sort of docking mechanism to dock with atlantis. the spacing may indicate that they could cling to the bottom of the piers on atlantis. the things are circled

The general consensus is that they are weapons. Although your docking idea is certainly possible, I think it is more likely that the designers intended for them to be weapons.

Now the Tria just needs to re-appear from the 'void of disappearing technologies' and show us how they work!

Well as we've seen in Atlantis and the Artic oupost the Drones come out of a circular hole that opens up to allow them to come out. these are obvously turrets of some kind which I assume are close range, light energy weapons. Possibly like the trinity weapon but perhaps weaker.

Energy weapons is what I'm hoping for. I keep thinking that a race as smart as the Ancients wouldn't limit their ships to a weapon that they could only use so much and for so long.
