Two things stuck out at me, and they're bugging me.
Are these actual mistakes/inconsistencies, or are there explanations that I am unaware of?
1) The gate should have had enough power stored for one manual dial-out.
We've seen this done in some of the earlier seasons, particularly (if I remember correctly) when the team manually dialed one of the gates on a Goa'uld mothership (which afterwards crashed on Earth) to escape from the replicators with Thor's body. I do realize that would have shortened the episode considerably.... but am I wrong?
2) The freaking seventh chevron they dialed out with.
It was not the A symbol, or any other symbol I've ever seen used as a point of origin. I realize the original idea for the series involved having unique point of origin symbols (along with everything else) for each gate, but I could have sworn that TPTB ditched that idea about 8 seasons ago...
Does anyone know what's going on here? Are there explanations, or are these just mistakes?
