    SFX Reader Awards 2007

OK...don't think there's a thread for this yet, so here are the results (just the Stargate related ones anyway!) from SFX magazine May 2007:-

    Best TV Show

    1. Doctor Who
    2. BSG
    3. Lost
    4. Life on Mars
    5. Heroes

    Close but no cigar:
Supernatural, Torchwood, Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, Medium

    Best TV Episode

    1. Dr Who 'The Girl in the Fireplace'
    2. Dr Who 'Army of Ghosts/Doomsday'
    3. Stargate SG1 '200'
    4. BSG 'Exodus' pt 1 and 2
    5. Dr Who 'The Impossible Planet/Satan Pit'

Top rated episodes from other shows:
    Stargate Atlantis 'Common Ground'

(Trends: 3.4 times as many people voted for the SG1 episode '200' as actually voted for the show itself!)

    Best TV Actress

    1. Billie Piper
    2. Claudia Black
    3. Mary McDonnell
    4. Katee Sackhoff
    5. Eve Myles

    Close but no cigar:
Sophia Myles, Grace Park, Evangeline Lilly, Tricia Helfer, Amanda Tapping

    Sexiest Woman

    1. Claudia Black
    2. Billie Piper
    3. Grace Park
    4. Eve Myles
    5. Evangeline Lilly

    Close but no cigar:
Katee Sackhoff, Scarlett Johansson, Erica Durance, Lucy Lawless, Kate Beckinsale

    Sexiest Man

    1. John Barrowman
    2. David Tennant
    3. Josh Holloway
    4. Nathan Fillion
    5. Jensen Ackles

    Close but no cigar:
Joe Flanigan, Johnny Depp, Clive Owen, Daniel Craig, Jamie Bamber.

(Trends: SFX readers are truly metrosexual. 76% of voters gave nominations for both Sexiest Man and Sexiest Woman (though significantly more men added comments like, 'So my other half tells me') LOL!!

    Hey, linky link please?

Interesting implication on the best episodes bit for the Hugo awards, as it's more or less the same - peopel have poitned out that splitting the votes between the Doctor Whos might damage its chances and help 200...
Pinky, are you thinking what I'm thinking?
    Yes, I am!

Sorry Pitry...I don't have a link. I got the information from the May issue of SFX magazine itself. It's on shelves in all good newsagents in the UK now!!

How much for betting it's David Tennant?... (and he definitely deserves it, mind...Oh. I'll go fangirling somewhere else.)

              Here you go!

              Best TV actor

              1. David Tennant
              2. Philip Glenister
              3. Jensen Ackles
              4. Edward James Olmos
              5. James Callis

              Close but no cigar
Josh Holloway, John Simm, John Barrowman, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Terry O'Quinn

              You were right Pitry!!

As I'm here, I'll type up some of the other interesting 'Trends' SFX printed in the mag:

'Heroes' is the first show ever to make it into the Best TV Show Top Ten (let alone top 5) before it had a UK transmission. Clearly a lot of you had holidays in the States at the end of last year (ahem).

Every episode of 'Dr Who' received votes in the best episode category except 'The Idiot's Lantern' and 'Fear Her'.

TV shows which received no votes at all included 'Sea of Souls' (shame), 'Ghost Whisperer' and 'Hyperdrive'.
