People overlook it I think, but Entity was another show that demonstrated how vital a character Sam is because after reviewing all their files and after observing their behavior for a while, the Entity rightly concluded that Sam was probably the most valuable person there...

Astro, your collection of everything that is Samanda has really turned into an anthology of our favorite character! It should be printed, collated, and bound into a beautiful leather binder which would include a CD with the audio clips. Then sent post haste to AT so someday she can show Olivia all the really neat adventures her mom experienced. Such good stuff all in one location.

I'm being silly (it's late) but I'm so impressed with everyone's well thought out contributions (I could never express myself as well as you folks do) and Astro's bringing it all together.

Well done!!!!

In reference to Sony - N. John Smith said that because of the success of the Stargate franchise they have more freedom than most shows. A few of the changes in cast for both SG-1 & Atlantis are network driven because of demographics. But both John and Martin Wood said that they are really luck in that the network/studios stay out of their way most of the time. Martin & Andy did job about it being helpful to have a Sony executive that is a big fan of the show.

As to Carmen being back as Jacob in S9 - there were a couple of different possible story ideas mentioned last weekend that he may appear. Couple of the things that were mentioned include

When asked about that being released he said one of the reasons that they have not released out takes is that most of them are not very flattering to the actors. They are usually not finished film footage - I think it was Martin that it would be a good thing to release with the S10 DVD set.

Laughing just thinking about it! It'd be great if they filmed the last day and put together a special, with a gag reel, stand-out moments from over the years, interviews etc...I'd watch it for sure.

I'm sorry but to me she looks like a Dominatrix in a bad movie. A part of me is so glad that Sam is far far away and doesn't have to belittle herself to be in the same company of Vala. I couldn't stand the get ups they put Anise in and this is far worse. *Grumbles to herself*

I don't know about that. I was watching Zero Hour last night and my my my... Teal'c was looking mighty fine and that warm smile he gave Sam. I think in season 1 or 2 I may have wanted Sam to hook up with Daniel more, but now... if a particular man doesn't get his act together I could seriously see her getting all cozy with a certain Jaffa.

Regarding the Carmen Argenziano interview, what impressed me most was the actor's unabashed love for AT and admiration of her talent: "... I always thought of her as a class actress, a Meryl Streep class actress. She has a wonderful sensitivity, wonderful intelligence, nothing prima donna-ish about Amanda at all. She's just real and sweet and positive and smart. She incorporates all that emotional stuff into her performance and she was just wonderful."

This has to really touch AT because she has gone on record saying that Meryl Streep is one of her role models, acting icons. To be thought of in that way by a fellow actor is probably the ultimate compliment.

Sorry, this is a bit OT but wanted to share…

Here’s an example of something to tide our family over until the real DVD Season 8 release in October. With the help of Photoshop and various friends we’ve come up with a temporary solution until the real thing comes along. It’s still a work in progress, as you can see. But it will serve as a cover for the episode case until October.

Suggestions for improvements are warmly welcomed. Any ideas for additional pictures to put in the small Stargates on the left panel? It’s already been a joint effort in this house…

Now if we just had one of those printers that can print pics directly on the DVD…. Well, we can dream!

If there is a better thread for this please let me know. We created it with Sam as the main focus.
