H&H game Ships of Stargate - UNALTERED

As the rule changes poundpuppy has made to the current Heal and Hurt games have, in my opinion, made a true result impossible, given that characters have either been handicapped or benefitted unfairly, I decided to set up separate threads to allow us to continue playing from the scores as they were before they were reset.

The other game is still in progress, but you can also vote on this one.

The scores, as they stood before they were changed, were as below.

I agree ReganX. I posted this in the other thread: "I won't stop voting here, I will continue to play in both threads, as I have done these past few weeks. And I agree that the game "keeper" gets to create the rules, granted. But the rules of any game do not suddenly change half way through. They might evolve in a physical sport to prevent injury, but the rules of the original game do not get re-written. When anybody joins in a game,they join in under a pre-existing set of rules that don't change until that game is over. I am an S/J shipper primarily but I have voted on numerous occasions for other ships on the list without injuring my preference. But I do feel that votes have been snubbed."

I suggest both. It's what I'm doing.

Each unaltered thread is set up once the reset comes into play on the original thread and plays from the score just before the reset.

This game will show what the real result is, without any character being unfairly helped or hindered.

In some cases, I think that a rule change can become necessary but I firmly believe that it should not affect the scores until that point. Allowing two votes per day or making each vote count for two points is one thing but a points reset is another story.

In the altered thread, Sam/Jack and Sheppard/Weir were docked 359 and 49 points respectively while Daniel/Vala, Ronon/Teyla and Rodney/Weir were given 17, 28 and 61 points.

A fair result became impossible at that point.

Had it genuinely been a case of wanting to ensure a more round number for the final score, then I would have recommended that instead of bringing it down from 780 to 500, it should have been raised to 800 with each pairing given an extra four points. I would have been okay with that because it would have been fair, at least.
