Primitive Ancients?

How long ago were the Ancients on an Earth level of advancement? It seems Atlantis was built at least 50 million years ago, along with the gates and such but how long ago were they primitive/Earth level advancement? Basically, I'm asking, what did the Ancients go through at their Earth advancement stage and middle ages and such?

I'm guessing a few tens of thousands of years before 50 million years ago. It took thousands of years to get here from the Ori galaxy, by ship, so it must have been sometime before then.

Since, in the real world, we ain't got no ships. ;)

It is hard to say.

The Ancients and the Ori lived together during what we might call the medieval ages.

Then the Ancients started focusing on Science and the Ori on their form of religion. They must have evolved quite a bit and how long it took, we might never know, because the Ori could only find out that they gain power from worship, after they ascended.

The Ancients then left the Ori Galaxy to settle here on earth. I think (thumb suck) that Atlantis might have been in existence by the time they landed here on earth…

What we do know is the Ancients went to the Pegasus Galaxy , from the Milky Way Galaxy about 50 million years ago ... Before then , well its even harder to say ...

They could have been in the Milky Way Galaxy for millions of years before hand as well ... So they could have been in the Milky Way Galaxy for 50 million years before they left ... or they could have been in the MilkyWay Galaxy for thousands of years ...

Unless TPTB give a timeline of everthing , or explain everthing about the Ori and Ancients first , we wont know how long they lived in the Milky Way .. From there we dont know how long they lived in there own galaxy as well ...

Could be they advanced like the Tollen and never had there own Middle Age era ... Or it could be there advanced just like Earth and had there ups and downs ... Unless we get a timeline and history behind the Ancients and Ori in there own Galaxy we wont know ...

Atlantis isn't 50 million years old. The Ancients went to Pegasus a few million years ago. The original Earth gate was 50 million years old so the Ancients must have come to our galaxy before then or around that time.

I would guess that they were like us about 55-60 million years ago maybe more.

I would also guess that the Ancients were on our level of tech around 51 - 60 million years ago ! Though its most likely around 51 - 52 million years ago !

probably over 60 million years ago. if they got the gates and such working at 50million years ago, then it should've taken them around 3 million years to evlve into humans, and then 2 to get to the agricultural stge, then a few thousands years to get to the industrial era, and then probably a few more milion years to get the gates working, and then go to the milky way

Okay here we go lol :

The Alterans and the Orii were one people on a planet in the Orii galaxy (which we dont have a name for really)
The people on that planet were devided by beliefs, one was science and the other was religion (probably started out with a cultbased freak that said that his tricks (sciencetricks) were miracles and lied to everyone and made the more simple people believe that he was in connection with some higher power, this knowledge might be taught to his most devoted followers and so on.
At one point both fractions become very advanced in their own way and get almost the same knowledge with their own paths. The science alterans start on building spaceships that contain habitats in which they can live, something similair like Atlantis, but not as advanced yet.
They travel to our Milky way and discover Earth and settle there and the trip from their original galaxy to ours cost alot of time in which they gained more knowledge by surviving the problems they encountered along the way (like us earthlings being resourcefull)
Around 50 million years ago, they landed on earth, when the continental drift was totally different. They build their city Atlantis which was their base of operations on a place where the primitive animals of that time wouldnt come that easily.
They created the gate system because it saves allot of fuels and the powersources they use for the gates is more clean and longlasting.
The Orii discovered were the Ancients fled to and use a very advanced virus to kill off the created human populations in the Milky Way, it costs the ancients allot of effort to rid the galaxy of this plaque, they used the device on Dakara to erase the airborne virusses. This device was also their way for creation of lifeforms.
The only ones that were still infected by the virus after the device worked are some of the ancients themselves, because they are the leftover ancients that healed people and cant heal themselves anymore (Frozen), they are left on certain posts on several planets to guard them. Ayiana was the one that was left behind when Atlantis left earth. The ancients left the milky way with several Atlantis type ships(The Tower) to draw the Orii away from the Milky Way. Once both started to ascend, the Ancients shielded the Milky Way's human excistance from the Orii, which was the only thing they could do without drawing followers and breaking the rules they live by on the higher plaines.

These rules must have been created after the Ancients discovered that the Orii found out that believers from a lower plain give cosmic power to the ones they believe in.

To gain all the knowledge of the universe you have to ascend, because people without the knowledge also can ascend. (Atlantis episode where Sheppard gets stuck in that meditation village, they didnt have tech or anything, they just learned allot about themselves which is apperantly also a way, Jackson also ascended with help from Oma and after ascension he had the knowledge, but couldnt use it without breaking the rules, after descension he had the knowledge in his subconcious part of his brain)

Yes, and I even forgot to mention that Ayiana was frozen because of the Ice Age 10,000 years ago, and she couldnt use the stargate in Antartica to escape to a warmer planet, because it was in a block of ice.
Ra's Goa'uld opened the stargate there when Ra's troops tried to enter Earth, but the Jaffa froze to death and he came by ship and installed his own stargate.
