While it by no means my favorite I liked Space Race -- I thought the announcers were an interesting satirical comment on what our society has become.

I'm sure there are others but that one stands out the most. :)

I, too, loved Wormhole X-treme! And I'm a bit boggled that so many people hated it. I thought it was a good, fun, somewhat self-parodying ep with loads of great cameos. And the "Behind the scenes" stuff! LOL! *shrug* Ah well.

I also liked Nightwalkers a lot. Great to see Sam in charge and the gang out on their own without Jack. Plus... Jonas gets to do some sightseeing. :D

Prophecy seemed to irk a lot of people, but I thought Corin did an absolutely phenomenal job in it and it's worth watching again and again just for that. You can really feel his anguish (or I can, anyway) and I really felt he capture the mannerisms of a guy with a killer migraine. Literally. I've looked the same way a time or two myself, I'm sure.

I'm sure there are more, but those are the three that spring most readily to mind. :)

There are a lot of people who didn't like Prophecy? Really. I thought that was a great episode. There weren't a great many good Jonas storylines but I felt that that was one of them. And Metamorphosis, but Gypsy warned me not to get you started on that.

:p Metamorphosis was a great ep. Loved it. But it didn't go far enough, IMO, and it really deeply bothered me that no one asked Jonas if he needed to go through the resequencer at the end. I know it was setting up for later, but he'd been through the machine! Come on, people! You'd think Carter was the only one important enough to worry about. *sigh* Still, some truly excellent stuff happened in this ep... not that it ever got the attention it deserved. Much like Jonas himself. :p

OK, so maybe Gipsy was right to warn ya. ;) But hey, that's why I wrote Lesser of Two (http://jonasfic.com/viewstory.php?sid=136). :D

I'll go calm down now. ;)

Wormhole Extreme and Space Race. I don't know why people hate them so much, they're hysterical. I love all the silly inside jokes and the show within a show routine in Wormhole Extreme. Just the looks on the team's faces in the briefing room when they see the show make it well worth watching. The skeevy announcers and the commercials in Space Race give me giggle fits every time. Neither of them are art, but they're fun little episodes.

i seem to like most of the unpopular ones.
here's a few of mine;
nightwalkers, one false step, space race (loved it!), avenger 2.0, grace (which apparently not many liked) and i had no idea people didn't like metamorphosis until i read it here, i thought it was pretty good.

"and it really deeply bothered me that no one asked Jonas if he needed to go through the resequencer at the end. "
i think the reason for this was that carter was obviously dying and clearly needed it whereas jonas was fine. he wasn't melting like carter was and ivanov did. maybe they asked him off screen because it wasn't going to be an issue onscreen. i never really considered it until now.

and i also really enjoyed wormhole x-treme! i like it more each time i see it because i usually find something new in it the more i learn about the show.
i get the impression not many liked prodigy. i did. a lot.

i can't really think of any others that people hated

I also found Wormhole Xtreme very funny and liked all the inside jokes that I recognized. I am sure I missed many more than I recognized. :D

Another one I really liked that I think is not a favorite, and it is on tonight, is Spirits. Cant tell you why, but I always watch it when it is on or tape it, even though I have the DVD.

Hello all.

I'm new around here, altough I'm a long date stargate sg1 fan. Cheers to all. :)

I'll have to say 'Grace'. I also got the feeling many people didn't quite enjoy 'Grace', but it's my favorite ep, along side with 'Window of Opportunity'.

'Urgo' is another of those eps that I really enjoyed (Dom DeLuise, rest in peace *Kenjin bows*) and I get the ideia that many people didn't.

Urgo didn't do much for me as an ep but I still find myself watching it just because I love Dom so much and he's SO fun to watch, particularly in that ep. ;)

And yes, he's raised some fine boys, all right. :D

Glad he's OK. That "rest in peace" thing was a little disconcerting.

My appologies! :(
I also checked it out and seems like he is alive and well. Also checked with my cousin here and he also though dom was no longer among us. Silly thing I didn't checked that sooner. I don't really remember when i started to believe that, but anyways my appologies again. I caused a rather unconfortable situation. I'm glad he's ok. I do worship him :).

I love him in "History of the World: Part I", by Mel Brooks, where he plays Emperor Nero. He keeps getting stuff out from behind, and saying "Wash this"! I just can't forget that quote. Its brilliant.

Once again I'm sorry for the wrong assessment in my previous post.

And also, thks for the welcoming :)

I do enjoy the clip shows - it's nice to catch up on story arcs that way.

I loved Wormhole X-treme...for all the reasons already stated, but mostly "are you sure she doesn't look taller than me?" and "My character is based on Dr. Jackson played by Michael Shanks, who is based on the character played by James Spader.." :D

I really enjoyed Wormhole X-treme. "What do you mean this isn't a real show? We're getting paid real money aren't we?" That line is priceless!

I also liked "Proving Ground" "Jack, you told them to take me captive this time, didn't you?" And then the evil look of glee on O'Neill's face as he hung up the phone without answering...

And I'm a NASCAR fan, and saw some really funny ads on "Space Race".

OK I liked "Nightwalkers", too.

That episode was interesting, but they really wasted one of the best villains in Egyptian mythology. And he's supposed to have red hair! I know it's nitpicking, but come-on, Seth is famous for the red hair... and chopping Osiris into little pieces.

My guilty pleasure is the black hole episode, I think the title is "A Matter of Time". I don't know how other people feel about it, but to me that awful picture of those men frozen in terror as they run forever toward their gate...shiver.

Turning the set on its side to do the rope scene was fun too. It was also a very intellectual episode because it dealt with the physics of gravity warping time.

me too, I really enjoyed Space Race. I just thought the alien guy's younger brother was wonderful. Whoever the actor was, he did a brilliant job. Even though he was hardly in the episode, you really felt the character change from beginning to the end of episode. In fact he had more character development in those 40 odd minutes than Jonas did in an entire season (had to get that in before Shadow!).

The announcers had me in stitches. Plus the adverts/advertorials. This is a what a homage is meant to be - not a direct copy but a re-interpretation within the show itself. I saw shades of Running Man, Bladerunner and Robocop (the first movie). Brilliant!

Next would be Singularity....I thought AT did an excellent job in that one and I always come back to it when I want a powerful episode.

I didn't know either of these counted as guilty pleasures. Haven't heard anyone say anything negative about Singularity, and I also haven't heard of an overwhelming dislike for WoO. J/S shippers like it, and some anti-J/S shippers don't even see it as a shippy episode. Of course there are some people who don't like it (for whatever reason, that they do think it's shippy, or they didn't find it funny, or whatever) but as far as I know not enough to qualify it as an episode that most people dislike.

I thought Wormhole X-Treme (one of my favorites...and not at all guilty about it) was getting favorable votes on the poll here? It's a silly, fun and funny episode that, for me, celebrates the series and all the work the cast and crew put into it. And it's got a SG story arc to boot! What's not to like? :D

definately wormhole x-treme. yes the plot was a little...un-stargate like but who can resist all those sci-fi jokes? i think that for shows that try to parody themselves at least once...this was the best (x-files comes to mind...you know that ep. where AD skinner has this movie guy follow mulder and scully around and then he makes his own "x-files movie" where david duchovny's wife is casted to play "scully". that was a funny ep, but they just didn't do as good a job as stargate...)

That was" Hollywood A.D" the x-files episode you mention .David directed or wrote that episode I think..and Did you know that Tea leoni who was in that episode as Scully is a big Mulder and Scully shipper ... thought it was funny ..The episode was hilarious too about Skinner in the bath phoning Mulder , Mulder talking to Scully in the bath and all lying about what they were doing except Skinner of course .

gotta confess to like "Other Guys" but more because of John Billingsley than Patrick McKenna. I think i'd have liked "Avenger 2.0" better had it been the Coombs character (Billingsley) rather than Felger. I think that harkens back to not liking PK's comedic style as much as JB's (c.f. - Red Green vs Enterprise)

Either way, I did find that there were elements of "Avenger 2.0" that i really enjoyed - the virus being one, esp how it got ummm 'mutated'... i thought it was surreal in how pervasive something like a virus can be, tho it's intention was one thing, it ended up doing ever-so-much more damage. all too familiar these days! :(

In season 7:

Space Race - loved the banter between Sam and the Guest stars, also loved Sam's initial entrance in leathers and helmet.

Grace - just loved all of it, especially the little girl

Chimera - I'm a sap for Sarah/Osiris. And I also loved the scene where Pete and Sam crsah the Senior Citizen's dance.

Resurection - loved Sam in command and the change in personality of the poor clone girl when Sekhmet was in charge, & the direction was excellent.

Hmm. I have to say that "Wormhole X-Treme" is one of my favorites, even though it seems to have gotten fairly positive reviews here. I've seen it bashed to pieces, though, so I'll include it. I think it's a hilarious episode. I love the in-jokes.

I also like "Enemy Mine" a lot. I thought it was one of the best of the first half of season seven, if not the whole season. From what I've heard though, a lot of people didn't like it.

"Proving Ground," I think, is a really good episode that gets kind of overlooked. Ditto for "Shadow Play." That's another episode I really liked that people don't tend to praise a whole lot.

Covenant, I thought was good. I really liked when Mr. Sheffield (Colson?) found out about the SG program. It was like going through the SG for the first time. It's my favorite Jack-lite episode (I was able to forget I was missing Jack). Plus, Sam was driving a Mustang!

OOOOOO, wormhole extreme was a good one!!! I liked covenant too just b/c the whole time i was waiting for him to go "MISS FINE!!" so i was cracking myself up!! :p

Oh, I love The Other Guys too. And Urgo.
And shipper that I am, D&C.

Those are the more controversial episodes I loved. Anymore, and I will cross the border from guilty pleasure to favorite episodes.

ummmm...........i ..............uh..........i would have to say anything with felger in it!! :D

HEY!! stop laughing at me!!

i'm more partial to coombs (but that's cuz i just love john billingsley and his character was SUCH a spoof!)
but i'm warming up to felger... i think once i watch the s7 epi "avenger 2.0" w/ director's commentary, i'll like it more... those sorts of things REALLY tweak my interest :)

I really enjoyed both Icon and Covenant, which others seem to dislike.

Well... I'm not gonna feel guilty because someone else doesn't like the same episodes I do (they are the ones who should feel bad! :p) but an episode I always liked that many didn't was 'Politics'.

Now... A lot of the time, people will automatically bash a clip show just because it's a clip show even if it does have something else going for it. In the case of 'Politics', yes, the clips went on for way too long. But I just love the new content of the episode. And hey, it was Kinsey's introduction episode. Gotta love that. :D

I liked Space Race too.. loved the sports commentaries! And you could tell that Sam was having an excellent time. I also liked seeing Teal'c in that bellhop looking uniform. I also enjoyed Grace very much.

Same here. For Space Race, I just ignore the far fetched storyline and enjoy some of the lines and situations. The first time through I found the sports commentaries kind of an annoying distraction from the main story. I just rewatched the episode and this time found them quite funny.

Window of Opportunity:

1. O'neill & his fruit loops
2. Daniel & Teal'c taking their knocks
3. Golfing through wormholes
4. The juggling sequence
5. Jack's resignation. (guess that means theirs shipper blood somewhere in me.)

I don't care what anyone says i liked Emancipation. I liked the Romeo Juliet story line and Sam in that dress was funny.

For me, Disclosure always does it. I LOVED seeing all the other ambassadors reactions to the program, and especially how Kinsey reacts to Thor :D

I like citizen Joe a lot; the few people I know that follow stargate hate it

Wormhole Extreme ... didn't like it the first time around, but the second time (recently) I actually got most of the inside jokes and caught the cameos. Amazing what a difference a few years will make!

I'm surprised that Grace is not popular with most. I mean, Sam gets to kiss Jack for cryin' out loud! I don't get it ...

Loved Daniel and Jack's fight in One False Step, then Sam's "I talk to my plants" comment.

There were others that I didn't like the first go around, but the second time I watched them, they were much better.

Wormhole X-Treme, One False Step, Promethius Unbound, Citizen Joe, Avenger 2.0, and The Other Guys are the "guilty pleasure" episodes that come immeadiately to my mind. Though I don't like the term- why should one feel guilty about liking a particular SG-1 episode? :)

i got the impression alot of people didn't like "200", but i loved the whole thing, and it made me love stargate more (i'm a sucker for a sense of humour;))

i really love the ep where thor turns up and PWNZORS!!1! kinsey in 2 sentences, then Hammonds throwaway "drop by any time" comment, even though its a clip show, that scene is well worth it:cool:

Ahhh, what a great ep- one of my favourites from the series, I was surprised by the amount of negative reaction towards it. I thought that the episode really had something to appeal to every type of fan, it was a good hour of fun. :)

I'm a newbie to the show so I have to base mine on more recent episodes (and only time will tell how well they're received) but I happen to like "Bounty" "Bad Guys" and "Uninvited" which don't seem to be particularly popular season 10 episodes. I also liked "Emancipation." Sam had some really funny lines in there, something about "yak butter" if memory serves. I definitely didn't think it was as bad as people seem to think it is!

I love each & every episode of Stargate Sg-1 (yes, even some of the not-so-'WOW' ones :P), so it's hard to choose just one favourite; but I would have to say any with :jonas: in it. :D

Also, 'The Quest' (parts 1 & 2), 'Uninvited', 'The Ties That Bind', 'The Other Guys', & 'Mobeus' are some stand-alone fav's.

I think my most guilty pleasure is also Emancipation, I believe JM mentioned it as one o the worst episoded  Say it isn't so Joe ;) But how can you not like Sam kicking that big guy's butt :P

I also liked Space Race and my favourite part was when Teal'c lied about Sam needing his help, the looks between the two of them was just hilarious :D
