The Jaffa abandoned Ba'al after he walked into the trap. That's all we know right now.

Interesting theory. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see. Anything is possible with Ba'al.

            Those "lost Jaffa" are either:

            1) tried to walk back but got trapped in that time-distortion field somewhere else
            2) ran for it when the Ori forces came
            3) converted to Origin

I think they got taken out by the Ori Army, or another Ba'al stop them from coming back for him.

I think it's possible they could be lurking around waiting to assist Ba'al. Would SG-1 in their right minds believe Ba'al when he said that they left him? But then, with the so so writing, it's more likely we won't see them in Pt. 2

I still wounder how Baal got threw the Time trap.

As for the Jaffa they probley waiting outside the cave for sg-1 to come out. and when they do the Ori appear and screws up Baal's plan allowing Sg-1 to escape.
                    but it is anyone's guess

I bet Ba'al has them set up somewhere to spring a trap after we get the sangral.

The same way as SG-1, but what I wonder is why SG-1 didn't just follow footprints through that maze.

They could have done the same to get out after the scanner stopped working.

It looked like sand that they were walking on, maybe the wind covered up the footprints?

Wind! What wind? If you are referring to the trees moving Carter already explained this as a programme inside the time dilation field to make it look normal.

Obviously the path they took aren't part of the dilation field, so moving air can move down said path and cover up the tracks.

Or it might've rained, who knows.
