Eragon: Are you going to go see it?

I bought the book Wednesday morning, and finished it Thursday around noon (Thanksgiving..! ). I then went to Books-a-Million and bought the next book in the trilogy, 'Eldest'. I finished reading that very early Saturday morning. I enjoyed both! I'm planning on going to watch the movie when it comes out (Dec. 15th). Has anyone else read the book, or planning to see the movie?

It look's like it's going to be good. I haven't read the book though.

I saw the trailer last week and the CG looked pretty solid. I'll like to see it, if only because Jeremy Irons is in it.

I'm definitely hoping too. Both my fiance and myself loved the books. I have yet to see a trailer though. I heard one on the radio while at the theatre the other day. It sounded pretty good. But I'd very much like to see a trailer before deciding if I want to go and see it for sure. I often have trouble watching movies that come from books I've read first. Ruins the image of things I've had in my head ... I guess we'll just have to see.

I bought both the books right after they came out and am eagerly anticipating the third- so yes, I'll see the movie. Haven't seen any trailers or anything, but it sounds like a great cast.

I actually downloaded the two minute trailer on the XBOX Live marketplace last night. Having never read the books, I can't really comment too much, but it didn't really strike me as looking that great. I wasn't all that impressed by the snippets of acting that I saw (can you say over-emoting?) and Malkovich seems very much miscast...

I've been meaning to read the books since they came out, but have never gotten around to it. Now I can't decide if I want to read them before or after I see the film. What do you guys suggest?

I'll probably give this movie a shot. The previews I've seen look interesting enough.

See the trailer , have not read the books.

Th cgi is nothing special, sure better in lOR, which is few years olds, so I would expect to see better dragons, even previous versions of dragons looked way better, cgi looked a bit crap, compare previous stuff.

The acting from the trailer looked okay est,

So overall I probably will not go and see it.

There was a preview segment on hypaspace the other day, I have to say that it looks like a decent film.

I'm reading the book now. It's pretty good, even though there are few things that were obviously inspired by Lord of the Rings, Dragonriders of Pern, and other stories. Eragon kind of reminded me of Pern's Piemur in the last chapter I read--"Awakening".

I will definately be seeing the movie when it comes out. It's been a while since there has been a good dragon movie. And, I'm hoping that if this does well, production of Dragonriders of Pern movies will gain thrust.

I'm curious, though. Any idea hoe often the movies are going to be released? I'm assuming they're going to do all three books as it makes very little since to do the first and not he others. That would be as if Jackson just did Fellowship and not Towers or King.

I'll go see it. I did enjoy the books even though they were totally channeling Star Wars/Lord of the Rings and the Dragonriders of Pern at points. It made it somewhat predictable but it was done in an interesting way so I enjoyed them.
