    Stargate SG-1 Season-Nine DVD

With Richard Dean Anderson gone, it's up to Ben Browder to get the
band back together again and save the universe from a brand-new
    threat

    Stargate SG-1 Season-Nine DVD

Starring Ben Browder, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping and Christopher
    Judge

    Five-disc set
    MGM
    MSRP: $49.98
    RATING: A

    By Kathie Huddleston

As the ninth season opens with the two-parter "Avalon," everything is
about to change for the SG-1 heroes, including a hero or two. Gen.
Jack O'Neill has been promoted and is gone. When war hero Lt. Col.
Cameron Mitchell (Browder) arrives to join SG-1, Stargate Command's
new commanding officer, Gen. Hank Landry (Beau Bridges), breaks the
news to Mitchell that he isn't just going to join SG-1. He's going to
    lead it.

    **major snippage**

The season ended up being one of the best Stargate SG-1 has had for
years. That fact, along with the commentary from every episode and
the other extras, make this DVD set a delight to watch. While it's
sad to know that there is only half a season to go now that Stargate
SG-1 will be "transitioned off the air" at the end of its 10th
season, this series has a right to be proud of its achievement as the
longest-running American sci-fi drama on television. —Kathie

Good review, I pretty much agree with all of it.

commentating team of director Peter DeLuise and actor Gary Jones (Sgt. Walter Harriman), who offer very funny, if not always relevant, observations.
