Michael Shanks & Chris Judge at Xmas parade

The BC TV Morning News show on yesterday morning had a quick taped piece with Michael Shanks and Christopher Judge wearing goofy Christmas hats and going on about participating in this Saturday's (November 19th) Santa Clause parade in downtown Vancouver.

It was announced that 3 SG people would be involved. Gary Jones is the third individual.

Yea Michael is in Burbank on Saturday; guessing everything will be early so he can fly back for the parade.

* Michael, his wife Lexa, and friends/co-stars Christopher Judge and Gary Jones are the Grand Marshalls for the parade.

* Michael, Lexa, Chris and Gary, and their children, will be on a Stargate float which will be near the start of the parade. The float will be escorted by a group of Jaffa warriors dressed in costumes from the show, and led by 2 Jaffa carrying the Stargate banner.

* Michael, Lexa, Chris and Gary will be interviewed on site for the television broadcast of the parade.

* The parade will be screened on Global TV on 2 December at 1:00pm and on 25 December at 12:00pm.

In addition to the information provided for our Q&A, we have also been advised that it is possible Gary and/or Lexa will be appearing live on the Global Television Morning News in the morning (sometime between 8:15 and 9:00am) on Friday, 17 November. (A clip with Michael and Chris - filmed on set at the end of Season 10 of SG-1 - was aired during the Global Television Morning News on Monday, 13 November.)

Yep we're here....and having a great time.....

The weather is horrendous and Vancouver has no decent water at all...everywhere has to boil it or use bottled for the time being .....have gone all day without a decent cup of coffee!...

More storms and rain are forecast for Sunday...but we'll do our best to get as close as we can and try and get some pics....and I'll be putting up a report on our trip on my LJ when we get back to the UK on Monday....

Santa Claus to brave Sunday's rainstorm

Despite predictions of another major rainstorm, the Rogers Santa Claus Parade will be going ahead as scheduled at 1 p.m. Sunday.

"Wear your rain gear and bring your Christmas spirit," said parade producer Norman Stowe. "Just like the post office, we deliver. Santa will be there."

Last year, the parade attracted an estimated 300,000 to the streets of downtown Vancouver. Depending on the weather, the numbers could reach the same or higher on Sunday.

This year, the parade has increased the number of bands and floats by five to 65, thanks to more marching bands, many of them from Washington state.

Parade marshals this year are members of the cast of Stargate SG-1, the locally-made science-fiction TV series. Wearing costumes from the show, they'll be on a float that features various props from the series, including the stargate itself.

If you're in the crowd watching, organizers estimate it will take about 90 minutes for it to pass you by. Which means you ought to be able to make it home in time for the Grey Cup kick-off at 3 p.m.

Yep we're here....and having a great time.....
