does anyone know of a good space fighter simulator? Prefferably one that can be modded or played online, i know its somewhat odd to ask, but i really feal like playing one and i figured you guys might know of one, also if this is in the wrong area please correct me.

Unfortunately, in the realm of 3d first person space combat games, "simulator" and "online" seem to be mutually exclusive terms. Its a shame really. But as for your question, one of the best sim like 3d space shooters i have encountered is based in the Babylon 5 universe, and is called "I've Found Her". It uses near true newtonian physics in its flight model, and because of it, the game is VERY difficult to learn and master, but very rewarding when you do.
