    Why didn't the Ori..."Counter-Strike"

I found another plothole in "Counter Strike".

    Spoiler:
We know that the Ori's technology
incorporates failsafe features, right? Then why
didn't the failsafe features engage when Carter
started hacking into the Ori ship's computer?
What I mean to say is, why didn't the computer
automatically shut off to prevent valuable information
about the ship from falling into the hands of SG-1?

Is the technology Prior-related, meaning that the Prior
has to initiate the failsafe features? Or did Adria allow
Carter to go into the computer and learn false information?

The only failsafe technology I noticed was the fact that Mitchell's
    C4 didn't go off.

Well blowing up a whole ship is a bit much more than killing one prior.

Besides, it took Carter fairly long to get something, almost about 20 minutes!

    That's not normal

And she didn't even get anything useful. All she did was lower the shields... from the inside.

No, that wasn't a failsafe, Adria did it. hence what she said: "I just saved your life (or lives, I forget)."

A ship computer is a ship computer... and Sam Carter is Sam Carter
          //

          O'Neill: Phasers?
          Carter: Sorry sir.

HAPPY 40TH STAR TREK!! LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!

No, she couldn't do anything to the Supergate without Kvasir. And, she shouldn't have been able to interface with the ships computer, especially with a laptop. There should have been failsafe's, but they wanted to give Carter something to do.

Did anyone else get a "McKay vibe" when Sam hooked up a laptop into an Alteran (Ori and/or Ancient) computer system?

Well, come to think of it, that scene does give us a
McKay kind of touch since we almost always see
McKay walking around with a laptop.

I think so too, that Adria raised the shield, and lowered it, when she sensed the Dakara weapon.

You assume its a laptop, I would suggest its far more likely a tool designed for atlantis technology seeing as thats where it first showed up, also if you remember the SGA episode Grace under Pressure it specifically states "Jumper Interface"

Based on PC tech, sure but highly specialised.

Assuming Ori techology is in its fundemental form, remotely similar to Lantean then it ceases to be so far fetched that Sam could interface with it.

Adria raised the shield, yes. But she didn't lower it. She has plans for Daniel and she doesn't want Vala to die.

That thing is a laptop, she hooked some jumper cables to it, and interfaced. Nah, she didn't lower it, she was surprised, but if given the choice I think she would have lowered it, to protect her mother.
