Seems to me Darren and David (it was them wasn't it?) deserve some feedback on all their hard work.

I'll kick off

Looks good, very professional

Cool icons!

Its been fun adding faces to things and trying to convey the humor you are putting into your words

Great job so far and I am not *real* computer literate and I am finding things to be *fairly* easy and what I don't someone has been right there to help me...Thanks to all of you for your hard work and help!!!

Thanks thanks, everybody. What you see before you is the product of many, many nights in a row up till 4 a.m.!

Props go to David for creating most of the Stargatey buttons, icons and avatars! And props to the whole mod team for breaking in the forum, beta testing, offering feedback, ad infinitum.

The new forum software is extremely customizable, so be on the look-out for more improvements in the future!

Congratulations! Darren and David. You did a great job. I'm enjoying testing the different features and playing with the layouts. Many thanks too to the mods who helped with the launch and start the party!

BTW - Love the Blue colour - Just perfect!

I will attest to that! Often it was like me and Darren were at some kind of artistic-acumulatory sleepover!

And then we had the MODS joining us! The Horror!!

But I'm really glad most everyone loves it. Delphi always seemed to be arms reach of GW, but this has got the GW looks and a visual Stargate focus :)

Didn't think I'd get used to the horizontal poster info, but I have ;)

Getting used to getting horizontal? What?? ;)

I love the new forums. Love the layout, love the colors, love the icons, love running up the user ranks... :D Still thrown off occasionally by the random un-Refresh thing, but it isn't really important and it's still loads better than Delphi.

Love it, love it, love it. See? I can be positive. ;)

I will attest to that! Often it was like me and Darren were at some kind of artistic-acumulatory sleepover!you see now I have a mental picture of you and Darren in your Stargate Jammies that I really didn't need to have on a Sunday morning
:p

And then we had the MODS joining us! The Horror!!Oh, that was harmless. Harmless, I tell ya. You wait...

mwahahahaha!

But yes, thanks to you and Darren for doing this. Despite all the Blue it is rather froody.

I have a suggestion though. Can you move the bar at the top with the user and stuff to the side? That way the page wont be so long. Just a suggestion.

Love the forum great job (My first post on the new forum), although I am still trying to get use to the new forum. Only briefly used it got to finish off my dissertation for university course I’m doing. Just one quick question probably might sound stupid, I just haven’t’ had the time to check every thing out any way you know in Delphi forum you could click on a tread and it only displayed all the new messages, but over here it displays all the messages in the tread which is a pain you have to scroll down the page which gets too long, is there a some way fixing this.

Overall very cool love the background (blue my favourite colour), as an Computing Student it’s very user friendly.

Well done all who were involved.

I think the new forum is great!:)
It's a bit strange using this instead of Delphi and i'm still trying to get used to it. I'm sure it won't take me long :P

I think its great that everyone is equal now, so everyone can have Signatures and coloured fonts without having to pay anything!

So to Darren and David, well done, you did I good job :D

I just discovered I can scroll up through the previous posts as I compose my reply, not just the last one. SUPER!! I love it. It makes it so much easier for the memory challenged.

The new forum just gets better and better the more I learn how to navigate it.

Thanks again for all your work. It's really paying off!:)

I'm GLAD they changed to this forum software. I hate Delphi's setup. This is so much faster and simpler, and now I don't have to go to the SGArchives forum where the mods are absolute turds sometimes (about pretty trivial stuff, too).

Well this is only my second reply and I'm finding it baffling, I can tell you. But then I've just jumped right in and not read the FAQs or whatever it is I'm supposed to read.

In fact I'm feeling a tad panicky now 'cause I don't know what I'm doing. Am trying to run before I can walk methinks. :(

Small doses, exactly. Just like I told my new buddy Tame, when we started this new forum I hated it. It was so alien. I'd stayed away from Delphi, too, because of the layout. Then after we installed the Stargate appearance, I became addicted so fast it wasn't even funny. I hope everyone is having that same joyous experience.

Kinda sickening if you think about it ;)

I have a suggestion though. Can you move the bar at the top with the user and stuff to the side? That way the page wont be so long. Just a suggestion.

To Darren and TPTB on this forum. V Bulletin should have an option where you can allow a user to choose if they can have their information at the top or to the left. I checked my User CP and could not find anything which offered this option to users. Perhaps it's turned off.

I personally do not mind the horizontal display bit as most other forums I am on have the vertical display info, so this makes a wee change.

PS. I think there's a bug in the system or this place just doesn't like me because I have made three posts already and I have apparantly only made 1 post. Don't tell me I am sent to coventry already? :S

I was a little nervous at first, moving out of the familiar terrritory of Delphi and all, but this forum is really starting to grow on me as I find my way around here. And it definitely is faster. And you can do more stuff. Good choice, TPTB! :)

It looks great. I'm getting used to navigating it. And it's free.

Still I miss the Delphi format. This isn't the first time I've played on the VBB format. I was never particularly fond of it. To me this forum format doesn't have the personal feel that Delphi did.

I'm also not real fond of the fact that if I don't read every thread I'm interested in before I sign out, all the unread messages are marked as read. I've always tended to kind of pop in and pop out, but now I only come in here if I have time to read through everything I'm interested in.

But I suppose I'll get used to it, and if it cause me to spend less time here, that's not really a bad thing now is it? I might actually develop a RL.

Oh my gawd! <Gracie hugs Kat and clings to her like her life depended on it> Someone who feels the same way I do! :)

It's not that I am complaining, mind you, and I do appreciate Darren,David&the mods(sounds like a name for a rock band ;) ) hard work, it's just taking time for this old information age-Ludite to get a feel for this vb stuff.

I can never remember where I've posted, and clicking on the little box that says "last post read" (or something to that effect) takes me to the last post, period, and I have to scroll up to where I left off (which, in my case, is usually three pages from the last post. "/ .

I do like the whole posting proceedure, and the quote system. Very nice. :)

Gee I haven't heard that one before. :)

No I'm not Joshing. This may have a bunch of bells & whistles but it doesn't have some of the basic stuff (like knowing which post someone is responding to, being able to find the last unread message, e-mails when people reply to your post etc.). I liked the frame layout of Delphi better as well.

Already I'm not coming here as much as a used to or reading as many of the threads.

And the fact that I just found this post shows what I'm talking about. Because I didn't check this thread the last few times I was on GW, I had no idea you'd posted to me.

Yeah, I'd say generally very good. There's still a few wrinkles perhaps, but I like it. And at the end of the day if it'd been left up to me to design a new forum, we'd all be sticking bits of paper to the wall with drawing pins. I respect any man who can go beyond drawing pins.
