    Aschen and the Ori

This week in Sg1 we learned that more plants have fallen under the Ori. Now in the episodes 2001 and 2010 when learn of an advanced race know as the Aschen whom could have helps SG1 and their allies against the Goa'uld. But there was a cost in which they would have tried to make the Earth population sterile. Both times Sg1 was able to save the day. Now what would have if the Aschen were to fight the Ori. They had technoloy that was advanced with they had made a sun. So here a general question do you think any plants in the Aschen Confederacy will fall or Earth might once again want to try and make them there allies, since now the a Ancient will not get involved. Sorry if there is all ready a discussion going on . There are many forms and I did't not have time to look at all of them
May the force be with you

The Ori would still wipe the Aschen out. Granted they have powerful biological weapons, I don't think they have the energy weapons to get past their shields. I highly doubt Earth will talk to them since they've committed genocide on several different worlds.

well they have commited genocide - yet they've never killed anyone. Not a single person. In fact on the contrary, they have extended the biological lifespan of each & every person whose race they sought to eliminate. Strange eh?

anyway the aschen are advanced - I'd say equivalent to the tollan perhaps, or the asgard...but 10 to 1 they'd be no match against the Ori.

I wouldn't put the Aschen anywhere near the Asgard, or the Tollan dor that matter. But, the thought of the Tollan makes one wonder, why don't the priors use a similar technology to pass through the iris? Or, why don't they go out of phase, come through the iris, and march up to CNN, where they perform miracles for the entire world to see?

Unless... The Aschens invent a special plant (btw, to the OP, it's "planets" not "plants") that grants the person who ingested it special powers... Oh let's call that special plant, the "spice". Meanwhile the Aschens could also develope biological weapons in the shape of a "worm" that can you know, attack the Ori ships and bypass its shields...

Speaking of which, how dare they not spoof Dune in "200"? Come on!!! It's classic!!!

The Aschen may be a very advanced race, but they are still no match for the forces of the Ori. Come on, it's ascended knowledge they'd be facing. No contest IMO.

You're right. If the Ori had shown up during the filming of Dune, they would have all been destoryed.
That was a scene from the original movie, but the Air Force took it out.

The Aschen wouldn't stand a chance, nor would the tollan, neither of them were advanced in evolution status compared to the priors or the Ori, they only really have a higher level of understanding of technology. So they would be able to put up a better fight than us or the langarans for example, but eventually they would sucumb. Even the Asgard have said they've only scratched the surface on the level of technology and knowledge the Ancients achieved before they ascended, and the asgards are probably one of the most advanced race in ours, and surrounding galaxies,
                        Spoiler:
even they didn't have much of an effect against the Ori ships in season nine finale
. We then have to assume that the Ori had an equal if not greater level of knowledge that the Ancients had, and seeing as they don't disagree with interfering they are going to incorporate ascended knowledge with the followers ships e.t.c.

Question 2, you are in the desert, you see a tortoise lying on his back, in the hot sun. You recognize his plight but do nothing to help, why?

because… you are also a tortoise.

O’NEILL: No. No. Full well expected the other shoe to drop eventually.

THOR: We can only hope this will be the last footwear to fall.

It's all really a moot point... the Aschen are long dead anyway, probably sucked into that black hole or mangled by one of those other nasty little gate addresses they got in 2001.

I agree that assumption can be made, but the fact the Asgard can't defeat the Ori is not evidence of that. The Asgard, as Thor said, have only scratched the surface. We know the Ori would have been at least as advanced, so the fact the Asgard didn't stand a chance means nothing more than support what cannon was already established.

The Ori have the infinite knowledge of the universe whereas the Ancients had a finite knowledge (since they weren't ascended). So it should be obvious that the Ori are far more advanced than anyone. It is impossible for ANY race to be more advanced than the Ori unless they are ascended or are getting their knowledge from an ascended being. Why do people keep thinking the Ancients are equal with the Ori?! It has already been proven they are not!
