Louis Gossett Jr. to speak at BRCC Spring Commencement
Producer, Director, and Oscar-winning Actor Louis “Lou” Gossett Jr., will be the commencement speaker at the 7th annual graduation ceremonies for the Baton Rouge Community College.
Over 200 students will be graduating this spring, with the ceremony beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, at the Baton Rouge River Center.
“Mr. Gossett has reached the very top of his field through hard work and determination,” said BRCC Chancellor Dr. Myrtle E. B. Dorsey, “and the college is honored and excited he will be with us at graduation.”

Currently, he remains busy with his lead role in the successful “Stargate SG-1,” which has introduced him to yet another generation of fans worldwide.
He is also developing a nonprofit foundation aimed at creating entertainment that helps bring awareness and education to issues such as racism, ignorance, and societal apathy.
