Yay! Definitely something to wait for. I hope Hallmark channel here will show this miniseries in the near future, like they aired the previous one. I loved Beau Bridges in the first "10.5" miniseries!

I wonder if this will be as bad as the first movie, but then again, if they destroy LA (again), might be worth perusing

props to Beau and all but that first movie had to be one of the worst ideas ever thought of, and just reading the little I did on this, it looks like they're going out of their way to make it worse.

splitting of the North American continent? sure, this is all plausable, and does not at all make *my* head want to split.

Heck, I'm sure they can make worse movies than the first earthquake flick.

The thing is that if you really a quake of that magnitude to do that kind of damage, yhou could kiss the world goodbye. Total chaos as the stock markets would collapse, agriculture is toast, and well, the writer never think about think about things like chemical plants exploding, etc. when you don't have people manning them.

I always wonder why actors do this kind of schlock but with reality shows taking up far too much space on TV, you take what you can get. I mean that AE ATTACK movie on Scifi last night was sheer dreck, so in comparison, I'm sure this movie will look like Emmy material

Really, most critics say it's so bad it's laughable. Read on with various excerpts....

                          May 17, 2006 -- "10.5 Apocalypse" May 21 and 23 at 9 p.m. on NBC 1/2 star
WHAT can you say about the near end of the world - when all that stands between the entire United States cracking in half and falling into itself is a geologist with fabulous hair? One thing you most likely will say after watching NBC's "10.5 Apocalypse" is that it's a laugh-out-loud disaster.

Even badly recycled garbage has its uses.
Have no doubt about it —10.5: Apocalypse is trash, and stolen trash at that. Yet the sheer brazenness of its borrowed trashiness makes it oddly watchable.
In concocting this sequel to his 2004 hit, 10.5, writer/director John Lafia has patched together scenes from almost every disaster movie known to man. You name it, you'll find it here: Volcano, Earthquake, Towering Inferno, even this season's previous disaster clunker, Category 7: The End of the World.
Of course, "borrowing" is TV's default position. What makes 10.5 an unexpected if tiny pleasure is Lafia's decision to transport The Poseidon Adventure en masse — not to a ship, but to a Las Vegas casino that tumbles into a sink hole. Yes, my friends, they have to go up to go out.
The president (Beau Bridges) is determined to stop this from happening. But to do so, he has to get Daddy out of that sunken casino, with the help of two hothead brothers (Dean Cain and Oliver Hudson, who seem to be competing to give the movie's worst performance).

                          Don't bother

"10.5: Apocalypse," 8 p.m. Sunday and May 23, WMAQ-Ch. 5: It's simple: The networks will never stop making these awful disaster pics unless we stop watching them. Fleeing from ABC's bird flu movie was a good start. Way to go. Now comes the two-part mini-series "10.5: Apocalypse," a follow-up to last year's "10.5," which was -- I kid you not -- based on the childhood nightmares of an executive producer

                          **************************

                          http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servl...nt/Television/

10.5: Apocalypse (Saturday, Sunday, NBC, 9 p.m.) is a sequel to last year's memorably awful TV movie called 10.5. In that outing, there was a heck of an earthquake and California fell into the sea, or something like that. Now the remainder of the U.S is next for destruction. Those deadly underground rumblings resume. The American president (Beau Bridges) is getting a tad worried, so he asks "the nation's top seismologist," controversial scientist Dr. Samantha Hill (Kim Delaney), to figure out what's happening with these quakes. As luck would have it, Hill has a theory based on her father's (Frank Langella) much-discredited hypothesis. That hypothesis amounts to "run for your lives!"

'10.5' is a disaster of apocalyptic proportions

I 'm nothing if not a public servant.
I want TV shows to be enjoyable for you, and I want to let you know which ones you should avoid.
With that in mind, I can't help but take it personally that despite my personal quest to get you to stop watching these terrible TV disaster movies, millions of people keep tuning in
