I don't know, they could end it semi-unresolved, like technically Avalon part 2 wasn't a cliffhanger, but Daniel and Vala were still over in the Orii Galaxy until the end of "Origion", right? I mean, if none of the 5 major characters or Earth are in danger of immediate destruction, they can end it as a non-cliffhanger.
