    007 Fans Protest Craig's Hiring

I really dont think he is the right guy for the role, but a little late now
Equality is not a concept. It's not something we should be striving for. It's a necessity. Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women. And the misogyny that is in every culture is not a true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance, and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of every man and woman who is confronted with it.

I didn't think so either. I would have prefered Clive Owen to play Bond but I think that Craig will do well. I think we should wait on criticizing Craig until we actually see what he does in Casino Roayle. Remeber that people didn;t like Connery when he was cast as Bond originaly in 1961-62 and we all know how that turned out!

I already posted this information in your original thread on this topic. it really would be easier to just add new news to the old thread, than to create a new one. too much clutter.

I protest as well and suggest that they get a new younger actor to play 007 as Im getting tired of these "Dirty Old Man" scenes with Bond and the young women in their 20s.

But can anyone really compete with Connery?

No, nobody ever could. As for the new guy, I agree that he doesn't seem to fit. But I hope he proves me wrong. And you have to feel a little sorry for the guy. I mean, he had two teeth knocked out working on this film, and here people are protesting his hiring.

He still looks old... Joe Flanigan is about the same age yet he looks younger than him. I dunno, must be the makeup department or Craig spends too much time in the sun.

Anyhow, they still should replace Craig. He looses teeth just on a stunt punch??? I dunno, maybe he's not good at taking hits... but if thats so then he is really not cut out to be James Bond.

Hell... I'd say Bloom would be better. He young which is something I can relate too, plus the guy does a lot of action films and doesn't loose teeth despite horse riding, swordfighting, and etc.

Craig is now claiming he didn't want to be bond. http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/89412004.htm

Daniel Craig never wanted to be James Bond.

The 38-year-old made the admission after receiving hate mail from hardcore fans of the spy franchise.

He revealed: "I never really wanted to do James Bond.

"Don't get me wrong, I want to make big movies and I want to make as much money as I possibly can, but there's not a tremendous emotional challenge."

The 'Layer Cake' star also revealed that he's worried about being blamed if 'Casino Royale' is a flop.

He said: "It's a dodgy place to be walking. I don't really want to get the rap for destroying that franchise.

Bloom? Oh, Orlando Bloom. Nah, he's not Bond material. Too young.

I have nothing against the new guy. The Bond actors are always replaced, it seems, nature of the beast. For me, Sean Connery will ALWAYS be James BOnd, even if wasn't the first. Barry Kennedy was the first Bond on a CBS B&W movie special way way back (which about six people remember, it seems). Anyway, I think the campaign is rather ridiculous, but then whenever an actor gets replaced rabid fans write hate mail.

As for losing his teeth with a punch, I can see you've never been hit hard in the face. It can happen. TV gives this false sense of security that you can be beaten in the face and never even suffer a bruise

Craig seems to me like one of those tacky bad guys not Bond...but I'll see how he fares before I make any real complaints.

They should have picked someone else. I don't like the way this guy looks.

Plus he can't drive a stick.

*Course I can't either with any proficiency, but then I'm not supposed to be portraying James Bond....*
                            IMO always implied.

Yeah... I'm going to sound shallow here... but it is James Bond we're talking about. Our man hasn't really got the looks, I'm afraid.
Honestly I don't much care for Clive Owen either... he lacks panache and charisma.

*Sigh* I'll probably go and see it anyway... It is Bond afterall.
