Well i think we can all agree they look very cool, very orii and very viking like! they are realyl cool...not the kull warrior - priors of doom but more soden-vikings of doom...i like them, they better have alot otherwise we can just missileaway and be done with it!
now ive said that they are all gunna have like cloaks, personal shields and superpowers arnt they!

I think considering the fact that the Ori keep their human servants intentionally at a primitive level of technology they would be similar to the Jaffa though fighting more on faith then combat experience or highly advanced technology. It would be very interesting to see these guys invade Jaffa worlds. I wouldnt underestimate the Jaffa's years of experience in being a warrior race under the Goa'uld so that should give them some advantage. Though who knows what other little surprises these guys might have *points to the staffs with the Ori symbol on top*

I personally wonder if there will be more elite versions of these warriors.....you know, better then the peasant militia but weaker then a prior. Then again a single prior along with these guys is enough to take over some locations.

The priors or Ori must have altered them in some way or they wouldnt stand a chance against jaffa and earth soldiers

Technically they could if they have a single Prior with each invasion team. Plus if they have numbers which from the picture seems to slightly indicate it. Or they could simply be the peasant militia and better warriors are present for more difficult tasks.

I think the artists & whoever dreamed them up have been watching too much LOTR. Since these new guys have never known about the MW, how are they supposed to explain away the viking element of them.

I was looking for more scary & original looking warrirors, not a direct viking rip-off. So there is this & Vala already to not look forward to in S10. Wonder what's next!

I dunno... I sort of see the Ori as the opposite of the System Lords. The System Lords rule by fear, and don't give their Jaffa access to much more then they need. Remember the episode where Teal'c was thinking back about his past and how he was in AWE of the Gods (the Goa'uld) in their ability to activate the Chapa'ai (Stargate)?

The Ori seem to give to their followers, at least the ones they use for their nefarious purposes. Sure, if you are a villager, the Ori would not care too much in providing you with the latest technology, but just look at the Priors, look at their abilities! They even have a "failsafe" code imprinted into their genetic makeup so that if they ever turn on the Ori they blow up!

With that in mind, I almost see the armies of the Ori being made up of some seriously hard-core ships and technology, all being used to serve their Gods.

I could be totally wrong, though.

Oh here we go again someone sayin g something is going to be bad before even the writers know exactly whats going to happen. Remarks like this really piss me off.

I think they look very cool by the way, but like the Jaffa I think they will have more elite warriors.

Actually look at their weapons, at least in the second picture

If they arent Directed Energy Weapons I'll eat my hat

the weapons look like pitch forks. it seems that the ori are going to use large number of there servants and worshippers to just storm a planet with large numbers overwhelming the enemy

Helmets arnt exactly a mind boggling task for humans on a primitive level of technology and the idea of putting horns on them are also not exactly something earth could only do. Helmets = protection after all.

Also on the point of massive numbers, it will only take one prior and a large number of these guys for a battle. The prior could coordinate them and kill off difficult enemies while the warriors secure locations. Personally, i hope these guys are just the cannon fodder and more elite warriors are present.

I don't get why they would use large numbers instead of there stupidly advanced technology.

I mean, from what I picked up, the more followers they had, they more powerful they were. Why would they sacrifice a bunch, without even arming them properly when a few priors would likely kill whoever they came up against.

If those swords and staffs are not totally kick ass then I won't understand the reasoning behind their move to keep the warriors primitive. It’s not like you can easily kill someone who has ascended.

What's the problem rodent? If I think it's silly & am not looking forward to seeing it, am I telling you what to think or say....No I'm not! Oh, I think it's so great that nobody dare say they aren't looking forward to it, or else I'll get angry. Boo Hoo!

I don't get your second part either, before the writers know what's going to happen. I hate to tell you this, but the writers already have the first half of the season already scripted & filming on S10 has already started. So the writers obviously know excatly what they want to happen. It's statements like that, that really piss me off! Lol, they've already wrote over half the season but they don't know what's going to happen themselves.

Personally, I think the Ori warriors look great. I hope TPTB stick close to the concept art. I know I certainly can't wait to see them finally on-screen. It will be something to see thousands of these warriors led by a few Priors. I can't wait to see what kind of damage they can cause.

hawt and scary

That would be sweet to see them invade in the night time like that. :)

I hope there are like a thousand warriors with a prior and every time the Jaffa kill 1 warrior, it just stand up and keep on fighting because the prior resurrect them instantly that got to be frighting for the Jaffa. An unstoppeble force but then comes SG-1 into play with there new weapon that wipes the priors from there powers and the Jaffa defeat the warriors because there better in combat after years of experiance under goa'uld ruling.

I'd love to see a massive fight between the soldiers of the Orii and Jaffa, with about 6 SG teams deploying the new weapons. I wish i could just go into hibernation between each season so that i wont have to wait for weeks.

I am actually not very impressed.... i figured id be looking at some crazy techno crazed army not the vikings storming England... wait i saw this movie.... Arthur wins at the end :)

Ah.... so thats why the said that the new theme to StarGate was in a kind of "Arthurian" myth.

Not too impressed by these warriors. They look like something out of LOTR. I was hoping for "Space Knights" like the Necromonger soldiers from Riddick. However, I think those Staves that they use as weapons probabaly fire some kind of "lightning bolt".... If thats so, then their staff weapons are better than those of the Jaffa.

Hey, maybe thats what the "Elite Ori Warriors" will look like! Hopefully...

Oh well.... at least its not an army of an Ori version of Kull Warriors. Then we'd really be screwed.

I also thought they would be more high tech looking. But I'm guessing the staffs are powerfull (why would so many have one if they weren't?).

Lonewolf
February 22nd, 2006, 09:27 AM
Yea i thought they would be in like super suits of armor like in the authurian times, or something .. demonic as they represent fire & hell.

KeiranFuller

Yeah I was hoping for a little more. Maybe the suit styke is just a cover for something more.

Hrmm, unless they have some high tech toys with them, like a prior, staff weapons, shields etc, they should get sloughtered by their enemies.
Just mow them down with a heavy machine gun.

They probably dont know how many advanced races there are in the MW, so they'll probably just go after the more primitive races that the priors have been visiting

Serebii
February 24th, 2006, 07:02 AM
Maybe...just Maybe, the Ori enhanced their capabilities to be like Khalek or the Priors

Then they'ld be formiddable even with knives

your right, i dont think ori warrior can be that tech advanced. considering

They don't have to be technologial superior warriors, if they just can get up again from been dead.

Hopefully they will rethink thoes designs a bit i dont mind them not looking high tech its more that the viking equals asgard to me, I hope they have something like a flamthrower since fire is holy to them.

I don't think they would have demonic armor, they think they are on the good side.
