So many good episodes to choose from. But Crystal Skull was great and my favorite Daniel episode.

"Jack don't be an a**!" Hee hee, it get's me everytime.

This one is even tougher than Season 2. Crystal Skull is a favourite of mine too, and I love Jolinar's Memories with it's *gasp* moment when Apophis reveals himself. I didn't see that coming.

And I adore Foothold, that was such an excellent episode and I can watch it over and over and over again. My favourite scene has to be Sam with Maybourne.

But overall I went for Forever in a Day. I found the storyline innovative, I enjoyed the filmography and the thought provoking technique of having him go through the possibilites. It also had a real 'gasp' moment too, when Daniel tells Tealc that he can't forgive him. It starts off a really strong storyline between Daniel and Tealc that ties them together and is brought back again and again the series. Most powerfully in Fallen, when the two of them simply sit in silence after Daniel remembers Sha're. The expression of pain on Tealc's face is heartbreaking.

Shades of Grey, although this is my favourite season so it's difficult. The only one of this season I don't watch, however, is Forever in a Day. It just annoys me. Because I think the Sha're character is all wrong.

Shades of Grey just shows how ambiguous the Stargate programme actually is. Should we obtain tech and weapons "by all means necessary" or should we behave like nice kids and hope the Tollan the Tok'ra and the Asgard will be around to help when crunch time comes?

And Mayborne. What more could a happy Gater want?

I dont know why but I loved New Ground! I still really think they should bring Nyan back up in S8. Always wondered where he was all these years on earth.

I like Crystal Skull. There were a few memorable funny moments.

Firstly, Jack having earlier heard Sam describe the deadly radiation as Neutrinos, later pipes up in the briefing room when Daniel suggested that SG1 goes to the cavern with the Crystal skull. And of course, this is what he said to Daniel: "Hey, if you'd been listening, you'd know that Nintendos pass through everything". Then Jack has this smug look on his face.

Secondly, Jack is in the infirmary after being exposed to the deadly "Nintendos" radiation. Teal'c is with him. But Jack is determined to get up. He gets up but collapses on the floor by the bed. Teal'c unceremoniously picks him up and flops him on the bed, face down and you hear Jack's muffled "Thank You" (ok, can't remember the actual words - something similar).

Overall, this episode is great. Loved the interaction between Daniel and his grandfather, Nick. There may have been something funny that Daniel said through Nick, but I cannot remember.

Forever in a Day, for all the reasons already expressed on this thread. But it has a lot of competition, from drama such as Jolinar's Memories/Devil You Know and Foothold, to funny episodes like Urgo.

It's the main reason I can't decide between Season 2 and 3 as the best ever.

This one was quite easy compared with one and two, there were really only 2 eps that I thought were my favourites and they were Urgo and Foothold. Even though Urgo is extremely funny and has Dom Deluise in it I ended up going for foothold because it is one of those eps that I can watch over and over again without it getting boring..

'Point of View' for me. I just love those AU stories. ;) and we get twice the amount of Sam. And its just soooooo shippy.

'Urgo' was a very close second though.

Learning Curve - Britt Irvin is so great!

Sam - so many great Sam episodes! Too many good eps to list. :D

This is another hard one. There are so many good episodes, Point of View, Urgo, Crystal skull. But I went with Foothold... It is just an episode that I can re-watch over and over again! Plus the scene with Sam and Maybourne is brilliant :).

I loved Urgo, and I watch it over and over. The interactions between Dom and SG-1 were priceless! And then seeing Janet and Hammond looking at them like what the heck... Oh totally kills me every time. :p

POV and Foothold tie at second place for me... 100 days still makes me crazy...

This one's difficult, but I ended with Jolinar's Memories because of Sam. We got an insight into her past and it explained a lot of her relationship with both Jacob and Martouf.

There were loads of really good episodes in Season 3,but ,for me ,"Foothold" is my favourite. :D
I loved this episode for a whole variety of reasons:

Sam having to involve Maybourne was a classic twist, as previously ,there'd been no love lost between Harry and SG1! IMO,he stopped being a cliched "Baddie" and became a far fuller character during the span of this episode. He came good for Sam and got a chance to "Save the Day" for everyone.

I enjoyed "Sarky Sam"'s scene with Harry, and liked the teamwork and trust between her and Teal'c .Evil Doc Fraiser was fun to watch ,as were the Jack/Major Davis scenes.

The body image swaps were interesting too,esp "Sam in Daniel's Body"! Hats off to Michael Shanks' mimicry skills and timing, and to the entire cast and crew !

Ah,Bliss! :D

You're not the only one. I love this episode and wish they would have followed up on it or at least mentioned down the road whether or not they could have helped him. It's hard to pick an absolute favorite but I like Urgo as an off-beat episode and Forever In a Day as a core story ep. I was so confused when I first saw FIaD so I didn't really appreciate it, at that point, for the interesting way they presented the story, but I always try to catch it when it rolls around again in the tv schedule. Also agree with GateGipsy in that it creates a deep common bond between Daniel and Teal'c that is well played in future eps.

A tie between Forever in a Day, Point of View and Crystal Skull....I chose the first due to several reasons....it made me cry (I'm doing it *again*- ah, I like being emotional...), it was an interesting plot twist to have Sha're die like that, it was very interesting as an episode because she dies right at the beginning, leaving lots of room to resolve the emotional issues...it had this beautiful funeral scene....

Although i'm still unsure what my favrotie 3rd season episode it, Fair Game is also one of the very first episodes i've seen, and i too thought it was a good episode. I think that it shows that the Asgard would do something if the Replicators weren't a problem, and stuff. Too Bad! :(

Lots of good ones here, my runners up were :

Nemisis (though it had the advantage of being the season ender, and they get better stories)

Urgo (but only on the first viewing, wasn't that funny on the second, just not the shelf life, but great for the look on Fraiser's face the entire time. Hat's off to TR).

Point of View (Two Sams for the price of one!)

Fair Game (Yay Sam promotions, nifty episode)

Crystal Skull (just for the "Jack don't be an ass!" line)

But.... the winner was....

.... Foothold.

Great Sam episode, the conversation with Maybourn in the cafe has one of the greater lines in the in the entire series.

Michael Shanks does an amazing job mimicing Amanda Tapping's delivery of Sam in the confrontation with Jack.

Evil Fraiser was great to watch, I kind of wished we'd run into an evil Alternate Reality Janet somewhere along the way ;)

The aliens were menacing, and creepy, only wish we'd heard from them again.

And finally it's simply an episode that I can watch over and over again and not be tired.

Rules of Engagement may seem like a bit of a dark horse, but it was the first episode of Stargate that really drew me in. When I first saw it, I had no idea who this "Apophis" fellow was or how he died. I didn't know any of the team members or understand the concept of the show partcularly well, but the whole thing clicked with me for some reason. True Stargate fandom was still a few years away but this episode convinced me that lazy Saturday afternoons around the house were well-spent watching SG-1.

I don't think I'd ever considered which was my favourite season before, until I looked at the list of episodes and realised that although I knew straight away what my fav episode was, I'd never considered how many in this season I really loved.

I voted for FOOTHOLD because I love the episode. fullstop. I love that Maybourne is such an ass, when Sam becomes Daniel, and when Jack and Major Davis work to beat the bugs and that we don't know if they've really gone. Just pure class!

So many episodes I enjoyed - I ended up voting for Maternal Instinct as it introduced Oma and also saw the return of Bra'tac and we learn Apophis is back and has the entire army of Sokar under his command.

I also enjoyed: Into The Fire - Seth - Fair Game - Point of View - Deadman's Switch - Forever In A Day (Great battle at the beginning) - Jolinar's Memories - The Devil You Know - Foothold - Pretense - Urgo - New Ground - Crystal Skull and Nemesis.

Its a shame on these polls you can vote for more than one - as I find it hard to choose one all the time.

I love Point of View, I know alternate dimensions aren't very original, but I really loved everything in this ep. I really did empathize with the other Sam :(.

Wow. Great Season. I can't say any are my absolute favorite but I liked Crystal Skull and Learning Curve because they involved mesoamerican culture. Its a fascinating collection of cultures I like for a lot of reasons. Their Architecture is amazing too. The few shots of the Orban city in Learning Curve were amazing.

Learning Curve also had some philosophical aspects I found interesting.

The way Aris Boch essentially toyed with SG-1 throughout the episode was brilliant. "Prometheus Unbound" was an inferior ripoff of the same concept.

I chose foothold, because it's a great Sam episode (I love it when she's in charge) and Daniel does a great job as Sam. I found the aliens fascinating (will we ever see them again?) and I love to hate Maybourne's slimey butt.

I also loved the following, most of them more great Sam eps:

-Learning Curve -- Merrin was a great character, and I found the building of the naquadah generator fascinating. Loved their world too.

-Jolinar's Memories -- Sam, Martouf, and hell. What more can you ask for?

-Point of View -- Double the Sam, shippiness galore, and multiple dimensions.

Again there were a lot of episodes I really enjoyed in this series. I think this one is a really tough choice but ended up going with Crystal Skull. I liked the fact we got to see more of Daniel's family and the whole no one being able to see him I found extremely amusing.

I also enjoyed Learning Curve, Forever in a Day, Foothold (which had in my opinion the best Carter line ever which I am probably going to misquote but it is the one about Mayborne (sp?) being an idiot every day of the week and couldn't he take one day off), Pretense (I am surprised no one has voted for this one yet) and A Hundred Days.

Oh boy this is tough.

I voted for Urgo because it the funniest show of all seasons and I always prefer things that make me giggle.

On a serious side, I would pick Shades of Grey because I really thought Jack was being bad, I was truly relieved when it was all a setup, it is a great team show and it's got Maybourne.

For an alien show, I would pick Pretense because it's got a bunch of them all in one! I love how they brought them all together.

For the best line in season three, I would pick Foothold where Sam meets Maybourne to tell him about the foothold situation then when Jack and Daniel show up because Maybourne spoke to Hammond, "Maybourne, you are an idiot every day of the week, why couldn't you have just taken one day off?"

Season 3 has so many great episodes that it is very hard to choose. It was an excellent season :) However, I voted for POV, as it's one of my all time favourites.
I love AU and time travel episodes and this one is perfect. It's teamy and shippy at the same time and we get Kowalsky (I adore him) and Apophis. The acting is great, the special effects are impressive, the plot is interesting and the interaction between all the characters is spot on. What else could a fan want?

What's your favourite Season 3 Episode, and why?

For more info about Season 3 episodes click HERE (http://www.gateworld.net/sg1/s3/index.shtml)

It was a tough pick between Legacy and Urgo. Legacy because it shows the strong friendship/big brother-little brother relationship between Daniel and Jack and Urgo, because it was so funny..."Row, row, row your boat..."

I ended up going with Legacy because I can never resist a strong Daniel and Jack plot.

Oh, wow! That was so very difficult to choose--so many excellent episodes! I went with Forever in a Day, because of all the emotions and possibilities it went through, and the impact it had on first watch.

Foothold an Legacy were both prime contenders because they showcased Michael Shanks' acting ability so very well.

Who am I kidding? I loved them all!

Say, GateGipsy, can we have a poll like this for every season?

There are these seasons:

I'm not sure if there are polls for seasons 9 and 10 but I'll look. ETA...I'm not seeing any threads with a poll. You could start one for 9 and 10 and then "report" your first post and ask a mod to set up the poll.

There were many good episodes in this season, which made it hard to choose...but I chose Foothold. It was good to see the team in unusual pairings. Sam going to Maybourne for help (and of course her famous line;) ). Jack working with Major Davis, and LOL evil Janet and evil Hammond...they did wonderful jobs working apart but still 'together' working for the same goal. And I have to say I did enjoy MS's portrayal of Sam, I did make me giggle :)

I chose 'Forever and a Day' earlier, and yes, it is a superb episode, but I just watched 'The Crystal Skull' again. Y'know it's awfully good. It may be one of the best team episodes of all. The connections between them are clear even when they can't see or hear each other.
Rothman and the skull...
Teal'c knowing that someone is there even though the can't see or hear Daniel...
Sam sensing Daniel's presence and him thinking he must be dead...
Daniel: "Oh, but the way, he's insane."
Nick talking to Daniel when Daniel doesn't realize he can see him, and the conversation at the SGC when he realizes he can...
Nick (by way of Daniel): "Jack, don't be an ass."
Jack taking Daniel at his word when he says it's safe to go back, even though he's hearing it through Nick--and the expression on Daniel's face when he does...
Awesome episode.

Point of View - Another AU, S/J episode...enough said
Foothold - I just loved this episode, it just had all the right ingredients...and I love Maybourne, so that helps
Forever in a Day - I just thought this was a beautiful episode, it was the perfect way to end Sha're...it was because of this episode I chose my GW name Amaunet

So I ended up picking PoV, but I would have been just as happy picking any of the other two

I think Learning curve. It's a beautiful episode, so sad and with a fantastic Jack O'neill!

i would have to go with The Devil You Know. it has some of the most natural AT acting that i have ever seen from her. when she cries, i cry every time. and i also think that its just such an interesting way to bring back apophis, he really has resurrected from hell and is better than ever! i just wish that they didnt kill Sokar cause he has been one of the coolest bads guys even though he was just in these two eps.

voting shouldn't make me feel so guilty (unless it's the political polls).

I might have voted Shades of Grey, but I wa slookign guiltily at Maternal Instinct and Crystal Skull and Foothold all the time ...

I picked Forever and a Day. It made me cry! Damn them!
The last scene is so devastating! Similar to the last scenes of "Absolute Power" and "Meridian", it's a huge turning point for:daniel:.

Actually, those three episodes form a kind of Daniel trilogy that are among the definitive episodes for his character.

I enjoyed so many from this season...twas hard!!

I went for Foothold, mainly because I can watch it over and over again!

I also really like Forever in a Day, Urgo, A Hundred Days, Point of View, Jolinar's Memories and The Devil You Know.

I voted for Urgo finally, but....:( It was a really really hard choice. So many good episodes this season. Jolinar's Memories/The Devil You Know, Foothold, Fair Game, Crystal Skull, Nemesis.... All of those are favorites.
