the one is a stunner, like a wraith blaster. The other shows a picture of a sattelite in space firing a laser at Earth. There is no information about the second one. Not exactly weapons to penetrate shields. Cool non the less.

I was watching the episode that was on today (Saturday, February 11), I think it's called full alert, where the Russians thought the US government was infiltrated. I saw the Prometheus fire energy weapons (What looked like the weapons on a mothership) at the ship Kinsey was in.

Sure it wasn't rail guns? Its a common mistake to think that bright orange streaks are energy weapons when they are actualy rail gun slugs

Oh god not this again, those were MISSILES there have been 50 threads and 1000 high definition photos posted showing that they were missiles, and this episode was way before prommy had gotten railguns..

here is a high def enlarged pic showing MISSILES

Well... it's easy to just use goa'uld energy weapons. I'm sure that Ha'tak class staff cannons are more powerful than the beam weapon. And the Pulse thing seams to work on peope wreather then shields in stargate.

It is... but I think we may need to develop the technique to make liqiud naquadah before we start making our own pulse-shooting M-10 assault rifles, or P-95s or whatever.

I'm sure that Sam could figure that out in no time.

If not, ask the god damn tok'ra, jaffa or the asgard!

Also (thanks to Star Trek), everyone equates energy weapons with "best". We're already seen lots of cases where projectiles and projectile weapons are more effective than energy weapons (replicators, personal shields etc). Even the ancient drones are projectile weapons.

Personally I like the idea that they're still using missiles and bullets. It gives it more "realism" and distinguishes things.

Incidentally regarding those links posted, very interesting. There's a strong belief that the US already has energy based (plasma laser) weapons, but they can't put them in space due to that treaty they signed preventing the weaponizing of Earth orbit. Remember, if we hear about it in the press then it's hardly classified anymore. The stealth fighter was around for 10+ years before it became public knowledge. Makes you wonder what's current and up to date, huh...
First, please use spoiler tags. If I want to know what happens in the show I'll watch it. Second, if you don't like the show, stop watching it. That way you won't feel the need to complain that a sci-fi entertainment show has "plot holes" or "isn't realistic". There is a difference between commenting on an episode you didn't like and constantly complaining about the series as a whole. After all, why torture yourself by watching something you don't like...

But what type of weapon destroyed the replicators?

Energy weapons are better against Ha'taks etc. Those litle railguns are only good against maybe gliders, darts and who know maybe Al'kesh but not Ha'taks and Hive ships.
