    Why Not Explore Andromeda?

Pegasus is right next door to Andromeda compared with the Milky Way. Surely they can send a ship to investigate the larger galaxy. Daedalus-class ships are more than fast enough. Did the Wraith try exploring Andromeda for life forms to eat? Do the Asgard live there? What about the Replicators? Why did the Ancients travel to Pegasus rather than Andromeda anyway?

Thats a good question. Isn't the Andromeda galaxy closer to us than the Pegasus galaxy ? .

They might someday, but for now Earth has its plate more than full just dealing with the goings on in our own galaxy and in Pegasus. No need to alert potential hostiles to our presence if we don't need to. Yes, the Battlecruisers are fast enough, but they don't have a reason to. As to the Wraith, the answer is no. They've never left their own galaxy before. They don't have the means, because they don't have intergalactic hyperdrive technology. As to the Asgard... don't know. Ida, could be another name for Andromeda. (Same for the Replicators if the aforementioned is true.) The Ancients went to Pegasus, because it appeared to be larglely lifeless and they were looking to do one of two things, or both. Find safe-haven from the Plague in our galaxy, or to simply seed human life in another galaxy. We know the second thing at least, they DID intend to do.

No. In intergalactic terms, Andromeda isn't much further away than Pegasus, but it is still further away. I have a map of the known universe here at home. Pegasus is roughly 2.2 million LightYears away from our galaxy, and Andromeda is something like 2.5 million LightYears away. On the other hand, Pegasus and Andromeda are over a Million LightYears away from each other.

It is unlikely that they will go anywhere without soem direct need, like a piece of ancient tech hidden away, or a civilisation we have not come across that are even more advanced than the Asgard or Ancients
Equality is not a concept. It's not something we should be striving for. It's a necessity. Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women. And the misogyny that is in every culture is not a true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance, and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of every man and woman who is confronted with it.

Well the Ori galaxy has not been actually named...unless its called the Ori galaxy so could it be that they are from Andromeda? or somewhere else?

It is possible... but somehow I doubt it. I'm of the personal opinion that the Ori home galaxy is much further away than Andromeda. If it weren't, why would they need to build a super-gate? Andromeda is close enough to send massive fleets of ships within a few weeks by simply using the intergalactic hyperdrive technology they no doubt have. I think that reasoning alone is more than strong enough to justify that belief.

i agree the technolgy of the orii seems at least comparable to the ancients and asgard and replicators...they only reason to harness a black hole for dialing a gate is if its on the other side of the universe. any reletivly short distance like 2.5million LY would not require such massive amount of power.

                        Exactly, a few weeks.

With a supergate they can get here in seconds.

Yes, but I'm quite sure that is a rather minor detail to the Ori. They're in it for the long haul. If they could get to our galaxy in a few weeks they wouldn't even bother with a super-gate. A few weeks would be quite nice for the Ori.

Wasn't there a tv show about that?
Didn't it have Kevin Sorbo, Lisa Ryder, Steve Bacic, and Lexa Doig in it?
