Why not have both?
I would feel safer knowing something isn't going to impact the hull, im sure most ships projectiles and energy weapons would do a fair amount of damage to that armour anyway, plus you still have the kinetic force to deal with and im sure no one wants to be knocked about that much.

The armour itself doesn't protect againest Kinetic weapons (i.e. P90), only from Energy weapons. The Armour is placed on top of a super kevlar substance to stop bullets and alike. Or this is what i understande it to be.
That would never work, I'm sure that if the hull was struck by a Naquadah enhanced Nucklear Warhead i'm sure it would give way in some way.

Aye, but the Kull armor is a close synthetic kevlar type armour, in space, for one, it wouldn't be air-tight. Everyone would die from exposure to hard vacuum.
Second. There is NO idea how much synthetic enegy could be absorbed by it.
Third. geeze, that couldn't hold didly, unless, now, unless, you're going to lace the outside of the hull with the fiber, of say, an already trinium hull, THEN you might have something.
But it would really be how well the synthetic leather could absord the punishment thrown at it.
