Hey there all!!! I thought we needed a new Game Tread for those Experts!

You know the rules.... the first peron who answerd correctly wins and gets to ask the next question. Anything goes as long as it has something to do with Stargate SG1.

I'll go first...

The planet known as the land of light is designated inside the dialing computer of the SGC as P3X-797,

ok my turn a hard one here so try if you can:

in the episode "urgo" SG1 are confined to quarters inside the SGC, whilst docter Fraiser is observing them all on the close curcit cameras they all begin to sing Row row row your boat (to which jack dose not know the words to) but what is jack doing inside his room when Janet is watching them singing????

Throwing a ball against the wall and catching it.

In "The Lost City: Part I" what is the name of the SG-5 team leader who is present at the meeting?

I'm gonna say 3: the one in the Tokra 1&2, the one in Exodus, and the one in Summit/Last Stand. I think they all get destroyed in each of the above instances, right, so they must be 3 separate bases.

If I'm right:

what goof occured in Revelations (you only see it when you see the widescreen version)?

It may have been in The Enemy Within too, but it was also in COTG's.

the monitor in Heimdall's lab indicates green dots as life signs for a human and orange dots for a Goa'uld symbiote. When O'Neill and Teal'c are imprisoned by the Goa'uld, Teal'c is sitting closest to the door and O'Neill is lying down farthest from the door. The display in Heimdall's lab shows O'Neill (green dot) closest to the door.

That may not be the answer you are looking for.

Actually, Carter got it twice, Jolinar and an immature symbiote in Nightwalkers for a few minutes before it was killed by the compound she injected in herself.

Kawalsky was the leader of SG-2.

You're right about O'Neill, he was implanted by Hathor, but it died when he was placed in cryo. The one that actually had some control was the Tok'Ra symbiote.

Actually, there were two devices. Daniel got the last little blue glob out of the device that killed the Linvris (the other 9 got the Linvris) then they figured out where the blue glob came from and realized they had more fake page-turning devices over at Area 51 and got a new one and when they tested it 10 more blue globs came out. 4 went to Sam, 3 to Jack, and 3 to Janet. Actually, that's not technically right. Their first mission, the one to Abydos to retrieve Daniel, there was no SG-# teams. When they got back the teams were assigned with Kawalsky given command of SG-2. Then SG-1 & SG-2 were both sent on the next mission, the one to Chulak. So technicly Kawalsky was never on SG-1.

Well, I would count it. It still had control over her body, even if it was only for a few moments.

Techinically, the second mission to Abydos didn't consist of any SG team at all. SG teams 1 through 9 were formed once they came back, where Jack was given command of SG-1, Daniel wanting to join them to find his wife, and Kawalsky getting command of SG-2.

Heck! If you count every time we've seen that picture of her on Daniel's desk, who knows how many times she's been "in" the show? :) BTW, how did he get a photo of her in the first place? I don't think there was a FoxPhoto on Abydos...;)

I'll answer it, Off-World. It was SG-3.

And Dutch Razor, I'm assuming this is a trick question so I'll say 2. The one we see travel back to ancient Egypt and the one we see at the end that goes fishing with Jack. (There's also the 'unrealized potential' group but they're not called SG-1 because Daniel and Carter are just along I guess as sort of advisors and Teal'c isn't really working with them most of the time.)
I hope all of that doesn't need to be in spoiler brackets:o

Oh! OK! (I'm often surprised when it's my turn to ask a question....)

Easy One: What branch of service commissioned Lt. Ford?:ford:

Dutch_Razor
January 30th, 2006, 12:21 PM
A1: Wasn't it when we revisited the thing? I always confuse Thor's Hammer and Thor's Chariot, but I think it would be logical to have the music in the 2 episodes, kinda like a Kendra theme.

A2:The Marines I think , as a (non-tapdancing :P ) explosive expert.

Q: (Easy one) How many ZPMs do we have? (depleted and not depleted)

FallenAngelII
January 30th, 2006, 12:24 PM
Ehm... four? I think Atlantis has 2 still even though they're close to depleted, there's the one from Moebius and the one they dialed Atlantis with (it shouldn't be depleted).

Anyway, sorry for not giving the answer. I was out of town this weekend. :P

The answer was "Pretense". The song, which was a Stargate original instrumental piece, was heard all throughout "Thor's Hammer" (just skip to whenever Kendra's wandering around in the mountains and you'll hear it).

Yet, in "Pretense", even though it had nothing to do with the Cimmerians, you can hear it twice (IIRC). The 1st time you hear it is when the team first steps through the gate to Tollana.

Dutch_Razor
January 30th, 2006, 12:32 PM
Ah now I remember! I read about this before.

But what about the original ZPM's (3)? They're depleted but they still count I guess.

FallenAngelII
January 30th, 2006, 12:38 PM
I thought only one actually got depleted. >_>' Maybe they all got depleted when the shield broke down <_<'.

Anyway, I found that out on my own. I immediately realized I'd heard the piece of music before :D.

dria
January 30th, 2006, 01:31 PM
ZPMs:
(Assuming "we" means the "good guys" on Earth & Atlantis)

1) the one we used to GET to Atlantis (depleted)

2, 3, & 4) the three used to keep the shield up for 10,000 years (depleted, though the last one has SOME power)

5) the one that was "boobie-trapped" to blow-up on Earth (useless)

6) the one SG-1 went back in time to find that is now powering Atlantis

Anybody got any others?

Prior to the ever-chaning number in Ripple Effect, with how many alternate realities had SG-1 (or at least one memeber of SG-1) directly interacted?

Well, let me think:

Daniel-There but for the Grace of God
Everyone- Point of View
Everyone again (inadvertently)- 2010 (the note passed through the Stargate from the Earth in 2010 to ours)
Jack and Teal'c (if you want to count this ep)- Window of Opportunity (they both experience the same reality over and over again, making each reality they screw up in [all the previous ones] AU's)
Daniel- Absolute Power (interacting with the world in Shifu's vision, even though it wasn't the real one)
Jack- 2001 (Wrote a note to himself and sent it through the stargate)
Teal'c- The Changeling (saw what the world could have been like if he wasn't a Jaffa but a Human)
Daniel- Mobius 1&2 (They went back in time, screwed it up, then Our Daniel hooked up with AU Jack, Sam and Teal'c when they went back in time)

Can't think of an ep, so go ahead with another question.

Nope. He was mentioned in passing before that. (I'm going to have to look for the answer myself, though, because at the moment I only remember that he WAS mantioned, not WHEN he was mentioned. If we get stuck on this one, skip it & I'll provide the answer later.)

OK. Now I can't find it. I know I was watching an old episode a while back where Danny was giving background on something (in the way that he does that the rest of the team tends to ignore) and he mentioned Marduk. I rewound to hear it again because it was long before we were introduced to Marduk, and, therefore, ignorable when the episode was first released. (I see myself watching the first four seasons this weekend...)

Until someone figures it out, let's keep playing....

Are we counting all the times he SHOULD have died, but for the sarcophagus or other alien intervention? If so: the movie, The Nox, (believed dead in Fire & Water, but not), (alternate Daniel was dead in There but for the Grace of God),The Serpent's Lair, Need, future Daniel died in 2010, ascended in Meridian, ascended again in Threads after being killed in Reckoning Part 2, (and alternate Daniel was killed in Mobeius Part2).

It's actually a hard one to say. On the one hand, A Matter of Time I think would qualify as the longest, but considering that time is relative, outside of the SGC, it ended up being open for two weeks, but SGC time, it's closer to maybe a day or so. Whereas with Redemption 1 & 2, the Gate was open for several days before it blew up.

But temporal mechanics aside, I'd say it would have to be A Matter of Time.

Describe the pool shot Sam made in upgrades

It was a trick shot. The balls were set-up (probably with the 1 & 3 touching the cue ball) so that a well-placed, but fairly simple, shot pocketed each of three balls in different pockets in a single shot. The cue ball split the first two (1 & 3) and followed directly through to pocket the eight. If the balls were set correctly, the hardest part of the shot would be shooting straight enough and hard enough to pocket the split and follow to the eight without scratching. (Was that too much information?)

Amanda Tapping actually did it herself, though!

Rothman was Daniel's research assistant.

I've alsways wondered how Rothman actually came to work at the SGC, though, since it appears that the entire episode where he was introduced happened in Daniel's head while Amonet had him in the grip of her ribbon device...

dria

Well, there were 14 candles on her birthday cake in Rite of Passage, which aired in 2001, and Heroes aired in 2004. THAT would make her 17.

For some reason, I thought she was 10 in Singularity, which aired in 1997, and would more-or-less match Daniel's refernce to her being 12 in Holiday, which aired in 1999. That still makes her 17 when Janet died.

Admittedly, I'm figuring this by year only, not by "birthday", since she's a fictional character and I really don't thinkg the writers keep as close an eye on this stuff as we do. They probably coulldn't tell you how old she is, either. She's close enough to 18 that no one else had to adopt her.:)
