Why? Well, Citizen Joe was a clip show, and the only thing worse than that is a self-mocking *wink, wink* *nudge, nudge* clip show with no relevance to the main story. The Moebiuses were similarly self-mocking (in a very bad way) with a confusing plot, nonsensical time travel shenanigans and the odious alt-SG-1. I'm not sure what TPTB were thinking when they wrote it, but I hope that it's out of their system now.

The whys:

Gemini - This may just be the worst episode of the entire series, IMHO. Sam is just not that stupid and neither are Teal'c and Jack. An episode without Daniel is an episode not worth watching twice.

Threads - Sam, the horrible way she broke up with Pete, Sam and her feelings, nobody cared that Daniel was missing, Sam, Sam, Sam. This is the episode that made me hate Sam with a passion. I'm still recovering from it--and haven't entirely. I loved the Daniel parts of Threads, but we really didn't find out much from it.

Covenant - This episode reminded me of the very worst episodes of season 4, like Desperate Measures or something like that. I hate the intrigue and the silliness, the focus on other characters, and the fact that Our Team all acted like idiots.

Boo hoo. :-( I loved Icon--probably because the hint of romance went completely over my head until the director mentioned it in the commentaries.

While I hated Prometheus Unbound the first time I saw it, I also loved it in a way. I think it's the episode I've watched most of the entire series--mainly for the Daniel factor. Because of what comes later and now knowing at least a little of what will happen in season 10, I'm even less happy with this episode, but I still love to see The Daniel Show sometimes.

Icon: ambitious script......but really quite dull and disjointed
Covenant: good for 20 minutes....then dullsville (I'm sensing a trend)
Prometheus Unbound: Huh. Contains my single most cringeworthy scene in all of Stargate - the catfight (replacing the Sam/Chloe catfight in Avenger 2.0). Not at the bottom of my S8 list only because I really like CB, there were a few amusing moments and I came away thinking Vala had potential - just not with a fire extinguisher in her hand. .
