The cast and director of BloodRayne told SCI FI Wire that the movie shot in the Transylvania region of Romania, the fabled home of Europe's vampires and the perfect location for a movie about bloodsuckers. The movie, a prequel to the BloodRayne video-game series, is set in 18th-century Romania and stars Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) as a half-human, half-vampire warrior. The Transylvania region is the storied home of Vlad Tepes, or Vlad the Impaler, the brutal medieval nobleman who was author Bram Stoker's model for his character of Dracula.
