View Full Version : The Funiest line in Season 8 Premier

"Indeed, for some."
I don't know why, but after watching this ep 3 times that line just cracked me up everytime.
A close contender would have to be Jack sayings "Who's your daddy?"

"Who's your daddy?!?!" was my favorite, I hear it was an ad-lib by RDA.
Also, the scene with the team at the end had some great stuff, need more scenes like that one.

This is kinda paraphrased, but:
"Hey, if you don't take the job, we could end up with someone MUCH worse..."
Beat of awkward silence.
"... OK... That didn't come out right."
Ah man... if that woman doesn't have open-mouth-insert-foot syndrome as badly as Daniel and Jack sometimes, I don't know who does. :D

Mine isn't exactly a line, but more of a "Ha, fooled ya!" I thought the conversation between Weir and Jackson was hilarious when they were discussing the Goauld representatives. When Yu was mentioned, I immediately thought, "Here we go again with another Yu joke," but when Jackson immediately put the clamp on any possible joke, I busted out laughing. It was something along the lines of, "Seriously, this has been beaten to death." Hilarious.

There are so many, but the one that sticks in my mind, is when Jack awakes and ask Thor for an asprine. Then Jack and Daniel volly back and forth with yes and no. The hair bit with Teal'c, the look he has, like leave my hair out of this conversation.

I forgot O'Neill's "I've spent my whole life, sticking it to the man. If I do this, I'll be the man. I don't think I can be the man."
Now, that was a classic! I have gigglefits everytime I think of it because it's such a great line. :D :D :D

I like alot of the lines in New Order but I think the one thatreally got me was that talk amongst yourself comment, I don't know if it was meant to be a joke or not but it reminded me of an old Mike Myers SNL skit where this talk show host would tell the audience to "Talk amongst themselves."

Didn't he (Mike Meyers) say something more along the lines:
"Let me give you a taupic: [insert topic here] Discuss!"

The conversation between Fifth and Carter for some reason I think is the best. Its just the way Fifth talks.
Part 1
Carter: You think if you kept it up I think this illusion would be real?
Fifth: I you wanted it bad enough.
Carter: Is that why you tortured me?
Fifth: I tortured you because I was mad.
Part 2
Carter: The fact that you feel anything at all is a miracle. It makes you special.
Fifth: I'm glad you see that.
Carter: No....you don't understand....I could never be happy this way.
Fifth: Then you will be unhappy...................for a...very....long....time.

Although it isn't one of the ones confirmed by JM, I could swear this was an RDA adlib since SC/AT appeared to be cracking up. Then again, it is very "Jack", so it could have been written that way, too.

I'm totally with you. I SOOOO wanted her to say it. I was like, "Come on. DO it. DOOO it."
I'm sure AT probably wanted to do it, but it is more like Sam to point out how wrong it is, by saying what she was supposed to say. Still... very hilarious.
The facial expresion on Thor was priceless.
 "Yes, for some," by Teal'c was great.
"... Or this game is OVER..." Pause. "Too dramatic?" by Daniel was hilarious, as was "... Every joke, every pun, done to death," I wonder to whom he was referring? It's a mystery! :p
;) "Trying to stay positive..." was funny, because it takes me back to the ep Failsafe, when everyone was so "confident," but I still like the "We could end up with someone MUCH worse" line. It was very SAM of her to say that.
I must admit that, though his shenanigans can be tedious at times, practically everything that came out of Jack's mouth was pretty dang hilarious. From "Teal'c, what's with the hair?," to "Who's your Daddy?," to "... I don't think I can be the man." Very good stuff on his part. :)

Why do I feel that line had something to do with Uma Thurman? Nah, that doesn't make sense either. Perhaps he should've said something along those lines...

Then Jack held him back saying,( and who is going to transalate when you go Angent?) then Jack says (infact your the only one who can't) Then he takes his hat off and hands it to Daniel. Stands in front of the headsucking thingy, where it proceeded to poure massive of knowledge in to Jacks brain. That is what Jack said and did before he stuck his head in the headsucking thingy. :S

Actually you're not too far off from one possibility. It could be that he doesn't remember anything from just after he was put in stasis. The twins comment may refer to the fact that Anubis kept sending down pairs of supersoldiers (poor TPTB only having two actors to do the supersoldier thing) trying to stop them from activating the weapon.

Great thread - been chuckling away as I read, remembering all those great lines.
I agree with the comment about Thor's face when he came up after Jack fired the weapon - priceless. And just the fact that he ducked behind the console out of harm's way and left them to deal with the Replicator cracks me up. Plus the tone of his voice when he says "O'Neill' with the lights - wonderful. The little guy's developing quite a sense of humour these days. :D
As for the twins comment - I think Lopez has the right of it. At least that was the meaning I got from it. It's a 'classic' male sexual fantasy to make love to twins. I assumed that Jack meant he was having quite a good dream until they woke him up. ;) Although, as ever with Jack, he could be saying it for effect rather than truth. <g>

I loved Thors expression after Jack destroyed the replicator. I was cracking up. Also loved basically everything that came out of Jack's mouth. And Teal'c's "For some" was cool. So was the conversation at the end about being the man and Sam's remark about them getting someone much worse. Also at the end when Jack said "I, insert name" I was so hoping Sam would say it the exact way. That would have been so cool. Anyways I loved the entire episode. Every one had some pretty funny lines. I can't wait to see the rest of the season.

Thors "brace for impact"
Well duh, they've fired at us and it is more then likely it can penetrate the shields. What's the point in saying so?

I bet Jack was thinking, "Where? I see Daniel right there." "He can't be linked to my brain." The whole pause thing was even funnier. I will have to add the part where Jack first appears as a halogram and then starts being a 5 year, turning the lights on and off. Classic Jack.
Reminds me of the eps where Sam gets taken over by the computer being and Jack is playing follow the leader with the black and white camras in the SGC command center.

I have to ditto the previous posts. I also liked the "small talk" between Carter and Teal'c in the ship when they avoid talking about their significant others.
What has been cracking me up are the commercials being run on Sci-fi that are the American Idol parody - I LOVE the guy bolting for the gate and being tackled right before he reaches it.

My favorite line was when Jack the hologram finished up and said to Thor, Teal'c and Daniel: "Talk amongst yourselves" -- complete with appropriate hand motions. I loved it!

It's interesting to see everyone's take on the Twins comment. My initial response was the Coor's Light commercial, too! But then, during football season, I'm right there watching the games and the ESPN highlight reels that use the same song (though the ESPN is because my husband is watching it). That song has SO gotten stuck in my head.
