Jim walked into the Gateroom, seeing his entire team there with the Stargate activated, he was slightly late 'again' Jim though to himself'third time since i've arrived here, geeze...' Jim walked to the bottom of the ramp turned around to his team and began to speak "Ok guys, since you've all been briefed, let's go"

Jim said smiling to them as he so often did, he was proud of his team, even though they could get a little-ahead of them selves occasionally. Jim cocked his M16A2, with it's regular magazine and M203 grenade launcher attachment and walked through the gate.

Jim came out the other side of the gate, he looked around, the immediate area around the gate was a clear but large armounts of tress and mountains could be seen farther off.

The immediate area looked like it had been hit my meteors, or alot of Goa'uld Ha'tak blasts, Jim shuddered at this thought and walked down the steps, spinning around to wait for his team he stared at the wormhole.

OFF Ok guys, i made sure your charaters can't come in late.

Alexis was glad he had made it here before Jim. He had been such a hurry to get his gear together after he found out they were going on a mission. He walked up the ramp and stepped into the event horizon.

He emerged onto the stoney platform next his CO surveyed the land as they waited for the other two members of SG&7.
"Where to from here sir?....................

"Well, initial UAV sweeps showed some kind of civilasation or...what was a civilasation, thirteen clicks north north east, just an abandoned camp, fire had recently been put out, we head towards that."

Jim pointed in the general direction of where they were headed while looking at the event horizon awaiting the rest of his team.

Ryan sort of... jumped, through the gate, landing on his stomach, and let out a loud 'oof.'

"Ow..." He sat up, and removed a rock that had wedged itself into his waist. "Glad that wasn't a few inches farther down."

"Hey guys!" He looked around. "Ooh... not pretty. I'll set up a perimeter of claymores. Just in case."

He began to go and set up the previosly mentioned perimeter.

Hanson had already came through the gate just a step behind Anderson. He clenched his XM8 and quickly walked on...but then he saw something very interesting indeed.

"Errrr....Winters...you want to know where to go to from here?"

"How about we ask these guys."

A transportation ship of some kind was speeding towards their position, flying just centimetres above the tree line as if trying to stay out of obvious sight, the ship looked a little overworked, what was probably a great ship was now rocking it ways to SG7's position. It looked like advance technology though, advanced indeed.

"Colonel I advise we dont go in weapons first on this one, judging by their tech we really dont wanna piss these guys off." Seph said whilst waving peacfully towards the ship, which was very close now.

Jim looked a little paniced and ordered Nash to fall back to his position and leave the planting of the claymores to later if they got a chance. "Ok guys, unlike our previous missions, we're going to keep friendly. I agree with Seph, we don't wanna piss these guys off." Jim stood in step with Seph as he walked over to the ship that had just touched down.

The ships entrance opend, and a large figure walked out, clad solely in green armour and carrying a large blaster rifle (http://gaming.trekpulse.com/eliteforce2/conceptart/weapon.jpg), The being holstered it towards Jim and began to speak in a very deep and distorted voice "Be you friend of foe?"

Jim looked very calmly at the large being and said "We mean no harm, we are peaceful explorers, we are friends." Jim leaned over to his right and whispered to Seph "Negotiatings something your best at, perhaps you can lend a hand?"

The large being pointed the gun towards Seph and asked in the same deep distorted voice "What is your purpose here?" while he spoke Jims finger slowly moved towards the trigger, incase something did go wrong.

OFF No, i'm not being trigger happy, incase you were thinking something else...
For armour designs, think a kinda Aris Boch (http://www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com/news/images/0407/sgab1bp.jpg) look but a solid suit and a Helmet (http://www.formul-art.com/stargate/kull_warrior.jpg) like a Kull warrior, and it's all green. (see links for inspiration)
TAG:Seph. (for negotiating..)-Nash, Winters, you can contribute if ya want though :)

Jim looked on the large figure pointing the gun at his team mate, he looked him up and down deciding whether or not to tackle him and start shooting.

The Figure, pointed his gun towards Winters and spoke in the deep distorted voice again "You look irrelevant and like the second in command and a military figure, if you are peaceful explorers, why are you all so armed?" The figure said moving the gun from one person to another.

Alexis felt intimidated by the new character with the distorted voice. The figure was tall, broad and heavily armoured...........that and the guy was pointing a big dangerous looking weapon at him.
"We are not always welcome where-ever we go. We are often threatened by large green, armoured men with big guns. Hey kinda like now" he said giving the guy a wink.
He remained alert and ready for the moment as he waited for Hanson to save their collected ars*es from his stupid joke...........

Ryan dipped his fingers into one of his vest pockets and pulled out a small object. He rolled it around in his hand for a moment. "Natural 20," he said, when he saw it. "Diplomacy check passed."
He walked over to the armoured man.
"Why, hello, there! Yeah, well, you know, there are these people running around with snakes in their heads trying to rule the galaxy, and we, well, you know, stop them. Yeah... and one of 'em, or something did something really bad to our planet. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?"

Seph stepped forward.

"We come so well armed because we never know what horrors may await us beyond the get. I assure you we are ust taking precautions. I am Dr. Seph Hanson."

"If you are friends then you will come with us. The rebels will be here soon, they probably detected the gate activity."

Bewildered, Seph was considering everything. Who were these rebels?, was the government here under threat?

"Sir, they seem nice enough. I suggest we go with them."

Lt. Colonel Ryu Gaia
October 5th, 2005, 09:35 AM
Ryan glared sharply at Joseph.

"We know nothing, I mean, nothing! About these people. Why the hell should we go with them to get away from their rebels? Who knows what they want? Nice enough doesn't cut it."

Ryan looked to his commanding officers. "Sir, request permission to say 'I told you so' when we find out Hanson is wrong."

At that point another ship came speeding towards SG7 at a relentless pace.

"It's the rebels!" cried out one of the locals.

"Nash I didnt say this wasnt risky. But we have two options. Wait to see hat comes off that ship when we have intel suggesting its a hostile force, or go with these guys. I know which I'd rather do."

"Ryan. Stay here n' fight with these guys with advanced tech if you want but..." Seph then turned to the locals.

"I want to comes with you."

OT. Ryan, we've already established in SG7 talk these guys are allies. I hope your just doing that in character, please dont make these guys evil lol.

(A guy comes up to my character and says some stuff while he holds a gun. Doesn't strike me as the friendly type. Besides, who knows - maybe the rebel force is actually the good side of the deal.)

Ryan shook his head. "The intel is from a biased view. Not happening."

((OOC:Guys, theres only one man OUTSIDE the ship, inside the ship there are three more, all the exactly same armour but a guy in red, a guy in blue and a guy in black.))

ON

Jim looked at his team
"OK, since this guy obviously isn't hostile towards us since, if he were he would of shot us by now or taken us prisoner, and i hate to think what's coming on that supposed rebel ship, Nash, don't jump to conclusions so much please, keep an open mind when exploring, we're going with this guy, that's an order."

Jim turned around and turned around and looked at the big person in green "We're coming with you sir, although mind telling us your name first?" Jim awaited a reply, the figure had been looking in panic at the ship off in the distance and was almost startled to remember there were four people standing behind him..

In the large figured usual deep distorted voice, but slightly lighter this time as if he were slightly surpirsed "Uh...Yes, of course, I will explain everything when we get onto the ship, follow me. Oh, and...don't bother shooting me." The large figure said as the person saw Nash raise his weapon and point it at the large figure.

Nash lowered his weapon and they began to run towards the ship the large figure in green had come off, Jims team walked into the ship and instantly the doors shut.

Jim looked around at the interior, it was beautiful, he didn't recognise it, he couldn't even begin to compare it to any other structures that he had seen before, from the outside the ship had looked like a Tel'tac but the inside was something spectacular

Jim looked around as did the rest of his team Seph walked over to a wall and ran his hand over it "Whoa...simply amazing..." Jim was the first one to wake up from the dream-like state of amazement, he walked over to where the Large green figure had sat down and instantly noticed a figure in blue, the armur eas exactly the same though just a different colour.

"Hey, when you told us to get on the ship you could of told us there would be more than one of yo..." Jim was knocked over, he fell to the ground and landed on his but, he looked up through the screen, wich looked like a slightly tinted bluish kind of colour, suddenly before his eyes the colour of the screen changed colour to dark green, and then to black.

Jim began to wonder how the hell they could see through the ever-changing material. The ship was dodging fire from the other, bigger ship wich fired weapons much like the Goa'ulds Al'khesh weapons, but Jim couldn't see any of this thanks to the meterial turning black, all of a sudden it turned a dingy red and Jim could see dozes of blasts flying past the window, or what he made out ot be blasts, large orange balls of energy.

"They're...they're firing apon us!" Jim blurted out before he could keep himself from saying it the figure in blue looked at the figure in green and said "My, what a bright and colourful bunch THEY are...where'd you pick these security risks up?" The person in green turned to the person in blue and said "They're travellers from another world that AREN'T the Masters, like you wouldn't have done the same?"

The person in blue looked forward and was silent again. The person in green looked behind itself and said in a very womenly voice "Since you havan't even attempted to shoot me or my comrad here, i'm going to assume your an ally hm?" She then pressed a botton, where her neck was, lowering the helmet and revealing an almost stunning to look apon womenly face.

"Ah, your a women? because of the deep voice I assumed you would be female, my apologise if i may have insulted you before." Jim was hanging onto the back of 'blues' chair now. the women in green hit some buttons on the console and the screen flashed blue and then turned the entire seat she was sitting on around.

"My name is Tara, I am..." Blue span his chair around so fast Jim lost his balance and fell over 'who the hell is flying the ship now!!?!' Jim thought to himself the screen had turned black again.

Blue was angry just by his physical expressions "Tara, we cannot tell them! especially until we have determined they are not a threat to us. Perhaps when we get back to base...."

The screen flashed red and the Jim was thrust backwards across the un-usually smooth and sniy surface. "Whoa!" he said as he hit his head on the wall. Jim looked over to Nash who had slid along with him and was lying next to him un-harmed ((OOC:i'm not either so, not SHS)) and Jim leaned over to him and said

"This ships inertial dampers suck, of course they have to have them or we would have been crushed to death on take off." Jim got up and managed to crawl to blues chair, he used it to holster himself up and he was looking through a green screen again, Tara had her helmet up again aswell.

OFF There, that should give enough inspiration to continue on with a good plot :)

A small computer like intrument had fallen out of one of the guys pocket. Hanson, in all the madness had managed to aquire it and crawled into a most magnificent corner of the ship and began scanning it. He noticed one word that repetedly came up. One man was nearby who Hanson grabbed.

"Listen Sir. We are all friends here, and we deserve to know whats going on. Now, who the hell are these Aufstand? Now, you guys are very advanced but not exactly good at thinking outside the box. I have found a way to make the ship invisible so we can just fly on to your settlement. So, you talk then your ass is saved...ally" Said Hanson.

The man looked around, the commander had overheard this. Admitting defeat he nodded at the man before turning back.

"Okay. The Aufstand is the name of the blasted rebels. Our world got to a great advanced state two years ago. However then once our ship technology had been perfected our world became split. Our government, elected by the people for the people and supported by much of our kin decided that our technology should not be used to build an empire, however there was a band of people who disagreed. At first it was a peaceful political stand. However a month or so later when it was clear the senate would not budge they turned militaristic. They arm themselves by raiding our storage facilities and commandeering our ships. Over the months they grew in number and the small rebellion turned into civil war."

"I see. Well we will be able to give you aid if of course you return the favour."

"Yes yes, get us out of this and I'm sure a deal can be struck between our two worlds."

Hanson quickly got to work without saying another world. He took another glance at the computer. Weapons have the ability to appear invisible to naked eye and the latest scanning technology.. Seph rapidly snatched the mans gun out of its holster and made he way to the control area. With the help of a couple of the locals attached the guns invisiblity module to the ships computer.

A few seconds later the ship disappeared from view. The Aufstand ship ceased fire, bewildered by what had just happened.

"To the city." Smiled the commander.

(I dunno about you making the ship invisible and it sounded like there were more than four guys in the ship, we'd only met two yet :\ Meh, whatever, also Tala is pronounced like "Tar-la" like Vala and tolar is "toe-lore"

ON

The ship had made it safely away thanks to Sephs geneious idea, they wre just landing now. Tara popped her helmet open and for the first time 'blue' had aswell. 'blue' looked at Seph and then to Jim "my apologise for ever doubting your abilitys and intentions, my name is Tolar, second in command of this vessel and, Tala here is first in command, and i am shimta to her." Tolar looked at Tala with a loving smile and looked back at Jim, his loving smile changing instantly to a hard cold look.

Jim looked around and deciding not to ask what shimta meant asked "Care to explain to us why your screen was flashing several colours repetetively was it some kind of automated piloting system?" As Jim asked the question, the ships walls, the completely smooth ones, moved and a large door opend up, and two large figures walked in, both with their helmets down, one clad in red armour and one in black, they came out laughing and with drinks in their hands.

The red one was speaking now "OH HO HO HO! That was some mighty fine piloting, and whoever managed to cloak us, you've got my eternal..." The black one cut him off "Well, well, well. Look at these four scrawny lads, y'all like peregosh years old?" Jim was about to ask what peregosh meant when Tolar and Tala stood up, a door opening to the outside of the ship.

"Well, we're here, let us take you to our friends and assosiates" Tala said smiling and gave the men clad in red and blue a sharp look and began to walk towards the door, when she walekd past Jim she whispered down to him "don't mind those two, they can get a little ahead of themselves but control themselves....Most...days."

Jim took the meaning of the emphasised most and walked out behind Tala and had to cover his eyes from what he saw next. It was beautiful, Jim had to cover his eyes because it glowed with a large radiance, the next thing he noticed was that everyone was the same unbelievebly tall and well built figures.

The entire complex was made of the same smooth material the ship they had just come off was, unlike the ship thugh this place had gun explacements all over the place, and guns in the ceiling rotating with whta looked like camera lenses underneath them. 'Holy...this place is built to withstand an army of thousands attacking, good thing we're on their side...' Jim thought to himself.

"My GOD is everyone here six foot ten and up?!" Jim spoke aloud as he looked around at several people walking past laughing wearing the same armour Tala and her crew was wearing, only it was yellow with a slight tint of green to it.

Red and Black walked out of the ship now, leading Seph out saying "You can't take a look at the ship until it's been Okayed with the council!" Seph joined Jim next to him looking a little down. Nash was staring at the roof mesmerised along with Winters "Whoa is that..."

Jim looked back towards Tala and Tolar. Tolar looked at Jim and started to speak "Ah, i realise i havan't told you those twos names" He said poiting to Red and Black "they're names are Brigolous, the one in the red, and the one in the black is named James."

"Thank you, now i can address you by name hm?" Jim said. Tolar looked away with a slight snort and he began to follow Tolar, the rest of his team were following him and Brigolous was bringing up the rear, James had walked off towards the nearest doorway.

Several people clad in loose orange clothing had come over to do a full check on the ship. Jim caught up to Vala and said to her "Where is this place? on your planet, i mean." Vala looked down at him and said "This is an underground complex, it was to risky to stay on the surface, they would of sent poisons around the entire planet just to get rid of us, they are determined to eradicate us from the history of their planets."

"This place is right under the most main city on this planet, they have never found us and still won't thanks to your friends brilliant ideas, we will be able to move around alot more freely now...we all owe you adebt of gratitude, but i fear we may have to ask you for more assitance before we are done"

Jim windered what she meant by 'done' but his train of thoughts was interrupted when he and his team was lead into a large chamber with seven seats, all aranged in a semi circle facing the door.

five, of the seven seats were filled. "This, is the great council chamber, the second most heavily fortified room in the entire complex, this is where we go if the fall out shelter is cut off." Tala said, Brigolous stood at the door and Tala sat down in the middle seat and Tolar sat down at the seat to her right.

After several minutes of them talking, and Jim and his team standing around with a feeling of uneasyness a councilwomen stood up and looked them all over and began to speak "Welcome, travellers." spoke her "You have given us a great deal of assitance, as I understand it, it was you and your team that saved the lives of Tala and Tolar here?" She said poiting to Sephand then to Jim.

Brigolous walked in and tapped Nash and Winters on the shoulder "You two don't have to be here for this, I assume he's your team leader?" he said pointing to Jim "And he's the diplomat?" he said moving his finger over to Seph. "Yeah" ansered Nash and "Yeah" ansered Winters. Brigolous said to them "Come with me if you want a tour of the complex." He walked out of the room, James joining him at his side.

Jim and Seph were discussing the comings and going on their two peoples with the council.

OFF Man, i'm on fire with long posts! :D Also, i hope i gave everyone enough to do :)

Seph was overwhelmed by the complex. But now he had a great responsibility, brokering a deal that could lead to Earth's very salvation. Seph and Jim made their way to the seats and sat down. However just as a councilman was about to speak a puff of dust dropped from the ceiling and covered the room, it soon cleared but was an ominous sign.

"Somebody is attacking the city, it's the only explanation!" Somebody yelled.

"The Aufstand have not sieged the city for five years, we believed that possibly a treaty could be established but now this..."

"Somethin' like that, a shot could have come from space right?"" Asked Seph.

"Yes. The rebels do have two ships in orbit. But we have great anti air guns perfected to breach their technology, as it is our own it was fairly simple preduce guns that penetrate that exact shield type, because of this they have never fired."

"Do you have any telemetry from orbit?" Seph inquired.

"Err yes of course" Said somebody just as a screen burst to life.

"This is impossible!" Proclaimed one.

"What?" Said Seph."

"The Aufstand ships are gone...and another has taken its place!"

"What kind of ship?" Asked Seph.

Suddenly the satellite zoomed in on it, it was a goa'uld ha'tak.

"Wait, how did it take the Aufstand ships out, you are more advanced..." Said Seph.

"Yes, we are capable of more but as I said after years of war we have changed our technology to only fight each other, no other ships. The shield technology should work however." Said one.

"Engage shields around the city!" Ordered the leader.

The bombardment quickly was stopped.

"We cant just let an alien ship stay there, we do require power that the shield is using for other places. We can hold it for no longer than two days."

Seph nodded and nudged Jim into the corner for a private conversation.

"If we save these people now, they will alter their technology and will easily slaughter the goa'uld...if they have the resources an all but thats by the by. We have to save them. I know I'm not any military guy but I do have one idea." Seph whispered.

"We go and get Winters and Nash and perhaps a fellow local team. Then we radio the alpha site and have them send us a ring platform. then we ring on board the ha'tak and err....commandeer the ship." Seph smiled at his wacky plan and waited for an answer.

ON

Jim had listened to Sephs proposal and began to think it over.
'It was wacky, that was one thing, commandeering a Ha'tak, SG personnal had done it before...of course that was SG-1..'

Jim looked up from looking around the room while thinking "Seph, it's an....interesting plan i'll give you that, but commandeering a Goa'uld Ha'tak is not easy, what if it's Jaffa controlling that seeking retrobution for something these people did? There are alot of variables."

Jim thought for a few more moments "maybe these people have scanners and can penetrate the Goa'ulds shields with enough modifications of course..." Jim turned around to the council who were discussing matters with themselves.

"Councilwomen and men, I must ask, can you not penetrate the ships shields with your sensors? We need to know who is controlling that ship."
The people on the council looked at each other in silence for a minute and then a Tolar spoke up.

"You must understand, we have not modified our weapons, ANYTHING for that matter for such a long time and in such a large variable to that scale, that, none of our technicians would know how to."

Jim was silent for a moment looked at Seph and back at the councile "Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a suggestion, that may sound a little, unusual, to say the least. But just hear me out."

Tara and the rest of the council waited quietly for Jim proposition "If, you allow me and my team one of your ships, and get us to the stargate..."
At that moment the councilman, sitting at the desk with the Screen viewing the Ha'tak rain fire down upon several citys looked up and said "I'm sorry, Star...?"

Jim looked taken aback "Uh....that big ring thingo that me and my team came back from?" Vala looked at the councilman and then to Jim "Ri'golush?" She said "Uh...Yeah. Ri'golush then. anyway if you get us to the Ri'golush, we can radio our base and they can send ring transporters..."

The same councilman as before asked "What are, Ring-transporters?" Jim looked at Seph and rolled his eyes and he faced the councilwomen and men again "...pieces of technology the Beings up there, the Goa'uld as we are under the impression they are the Goa'uld, have stolen from a very ancient race called the alterrans, anyway then we can use them to enter the ship and commundeer it."

The council was silent a moment and leaned over to discuss this with each other. Jim turned around to Seph and began to whisper to him "Well, your ideas been put forward, let's see what they say."

OFF: Simon, I suggest we don't post until Ryu or COTG has posted, let them have some credit or something. Let them expand what the base looks like :) Also, Ri'golush is pronounced (properly, by them) 'Ry-go-loosh'

The earth heaved beneath Alexis as he stumbled, around on the upper levels of the city. Death-Gliders were tearing the city asunder as the heavy defence turrets tried in vain to shoot them from the sky. He could see the slow and cumbersome turrets were used to shooting at slower, less agile attackers.

He and the Captain had been taking a breathtaking tour of the stunning upper levels of the citadel with Brigolous and James when the goa'uld fighters had dropped from orbit and assaulted the city. He and Nash had been left by themselves as "Red" and "Black" had gone to man turrets.

Alexis dropped to one knee as he took aim at an approaching Glider that was lining up to strafe a line of turrets. He put a burst of fire into the cockpit killing the pilot and sending the ship crashing harmlessly into an armoured flank of the citadel. His contribution did little good as another squadron dropped from orbit and sent energy blasts slamming into the city. He dived and rolled behind a walkway wall as energy fire scorched the paving near him. He felt the heat wave from the impact wash over him as he sprinted towards some more solid cover.

He had lost Cp Nash in the action and looked frantically around for his team-mate, who he couldn't see anywhere.....
"Nash!....Nash!.......Come in Nash!" Winters shouted into his radio. Getting no response he switched channel and radioed Jim and Seph.
"Sir, Gliders are attacking the city and I've lost the Ryan somewhere. Please advise Sir".............................

OOC. COGs...a shield has been activated, how would gliders and stuff be assulting the city. The only problem is the shield wont last forever...so yeah, might want to change that post?

Lt. Colonel Ryu Gaia
October 10th, 2005, 08:05 AM
(Most shields are based off of momentum. A glider in free-fall once its stopped short of the shields will make it through with ease.)

"Right here, major," Nash's voice came out over the radio, clear as day. "I'm in one of these new guys' attack ships - somehow I got beamed into a fighter bay. I think they figured we could fly 'em.... you might get beamed down soon. I was standing by that one place with the odd marking on the wall, go stand there."

Nash's sleek silver arrow-like ship flew right over the Major's head. "Handles well, eh?"

(This is a new race, plus I was thinking more of a force field type thing, why would they engage something for defence of a city, just think of how darts couldnt get into Atlantis, that let things through, soldiers and people invading would waltz right through. Seriously, it wouldnt make sense.)

Edit: Oh yeah also we said this would not be a gun fighting one, the ship is there PURELY for us to save them and they owe us one. Goa'uld invading the planet and stuff could get messy, how about we take out the ship...using their tech. I know I previously suggest IC that we take out ship. But how about ship doesnt have rings for a twist and then we have to alter their tech to take out ha'tak before its too late :)

Anyhow iv got to stop posting OOC in here, if you want to reply to this do it in talk thread :)

Lt. Colonel Ryu Gaia
October 10th, 2005, 09:27 AM
(Oh, and the reason that I flew over the Major's head was that I was assuming we were on a terrace. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense.)

Ryan manuevered the ship up and to the right, and swung right behind one of the gliders. His ship moved right over the glider and he fired the weapons on the bottom of the ship, sending a blast of intense heat onto the glider's cockpit. Once he heard the incinerating blast strike the glider, he winced, knowing that the heat would melt the glass on to the pilot.

Then he realized that there was no way he could have known that there would be weapons on the bottom... and he didn't press any buttons to activate them. "User interface? Sweet!"

(Okay, this has gone too far the alter. Lets just say the gliders attacking the city had already descended before the shield was raised, note this means no other squadrons can join them though, compromise :)

The council then finally answered about ten minutes later.

"Dr. Hanson our scanners have been working hard checking this ships capabilities and we have found so sign what so ever of your 'rings'."

"What, thats...impossible." Said Seph.

"From the brief specifications you gave us we have been able to identify a range of energy signatures that this sort of technology would give off. The ship has no such reading."

"They must have learnt from the amount of times SGC personell have ringed on board and caused mayhem, I believe this Goa'uld has removed the rings. Sir I believe if that ship is to be destroyed before the shield collopses we are going to need to use these peoples weaponary..."

Jim looked up at the ceiling, thinking about the Ha'tak "Damn them, Goa'uld have really altered their tactics since the good old SGC days..." Jim was almost in a daze when he mentioned the SGC but reminded himself of the present danger.

"It does appear that way Seph, councilmembers, I believe me and my team mates can assist you in destroying that ship up there" Jim said pointing towards the roof again, all the council members but Tara looking ot where he was pointing.

Just then Major Winters radio call came in "Sir, Gliders are attacking the city and I've lost the Ryan somewhere. Please advise Sir" Jim pressed his radio to his lips tuning it to Winters' frequency and hoped Nash was on the frequency aswell "Major, you are to get your ass back down here, where it's safer and your out of harm, and then...Major, hold out for a little while longer, Seph and I will be there shortly, and tell Nash to stay with you if you can get him on radio or see him." Jim ordered.

Where they really to take down a Ha'tak using peoples technology that could barely take down death gliders? Just then Nash' voice came over the radio wich Jim assumed he had forgot to turn off from what he said "User interface? Sweet!"

Jim spoke into his radio changing channels to match Nash' "Captain, where are you? What are you doing? Rondevous to Winter' position and hold out with him!" Jim looked at hte council members and then remembered what he was supposed to be doing.

"Councilmembers, have you any ships that can reach that Ha'tak and attack it? I suggest, you send out all you have to meet forces with that Ha'tak up there, and coordinating with the...rebels would be a good idea..."

Tara said "Coordinate with the Aufstand!?! Are you mad!? they'd soon as blow us up before our new foe!" Tara brought up a screen and Tolar looked onto it, he smirked. "Fools, the Aufstand are attacking the Ha'tak now, and I might add, with no avail." Tolar brought up his own screen, as did the rest of the councilmembers and watched the destruction of the Aufstand ships.

"Graaa...this is getting us nowhere" Jim said to Seph. "Councilmembers, take us to a fighter bay, if we're not going to be any use down here, we may aswell be up there." The councilmembers stared at Jim and pressed several buttons infront of them.

Tara stood up and brought out four small ((OOC:Think, the tok'ra communication devices, but made out of the same smooth material that everything else is)) oval shaped devices and gave three to Jim and one to Seph "These are communication devices, use them to talk to us and we'll use them to talk to to you...Flam Ryuth! Colonel." Tara nodded to the councilmembers.

Jim and Seph were instantly transported to another location. Jim looked around and saw the dozens of fighter sized ships and several larger ships like the one they arrived here in sitting. Jim could hear gunfire in the distance. "This must be a fighter bay...or a ship bay or some sort."

Jim loked as Seph "Seph, can you remodulate these fighters weapons to pierce the Goa'uld Shielding?" Jim asked eagerly while walking over to a fighter and inspecting it.

OFF Note: i'd like to add these fighters can be either one or two man fighters, the larger ships look closer to Tel'taks but with Al'kesh kind of weapons but instead of turnable turrets they have ports built intp the ship that can be fired out of.

((OOC: Sorry if you dont think its realistic seph but not all tech is the same. I was thinking that larger slower objects could pass throguh the sheilds. Anyway your the one who turned the ship we were in invisible in about 10 seconds flat hmmm.:(
And Nash i was out on a terrace so it makes sense, though im not sure teleporting to a hager by accident does :S ))

Winters held his position as incoming glider fire impacted the wall he was behind. Chunks of masonary and some strange alloy material bounved off his shoulder. He huddled closer to the wall as he watched an approaching glider lining him up for his next strafe run. He pulled a grenade from his belt and pulled the pin dropping it to the ground. Smoke encompased the area as he sprinted to another peice of cover.................

(Sorry if getting me out of the glider bay seems weird but Seph isnt a pilot and I have a pretty good idea for me to go to the rebels and use Seph's degree in political sciences. Oh and COTG, I never said that was in 10 seconds. There was quite alot of time too, it was with Lotarian help, unless of course you may want me to add 'duration of this post: 20 mins,' etc to the bottom of each post?

Seph then looked at Anderson and all the ships.

"Sir, I believe I can be of much more help elsewhere, I have a degree in politcal sciences. I may be able to get in contact with the Aufstand. With your permission sir I would like to have the Lotarians beam me back to their base while I alert them of a plan. Just buy me some time, these are fighter planes so taking down a mothership is nigh impossible, just take out the Death Gliders and Al'kesh...err I suggest."

Anderson nodded and Seph quickly radiod the Lotarians. Within seconds he was back within the command center.

"You have something of a plan?" Said a councillor.

"Yes indeed I do." Said Seph.

"Now the Aufstand have so far not launched a counter offensive to the Goa'uld attacks..."

"Yes, our intelligence is reporting that they are refraining from attacking since so far it is only the Lotarians that are taking fire. We are sure that as soon as it appears we are beaten they will launch the Wafflex against the goa'uld."

"Err I am sorry the Wafflex?" Asked Seph.

"Ah yes. It was a weapon we, the Lotarians were constructing, it would destroy any ship...it is a weapon so powerful just the shockwaves from it will destroy the target. Now we know the Aufstand are capable of hacking into Lotarians computers, for this reason we planned only one and not to record the plans for fear they would get them."

"You didnt think to make more? And how did the Aufstand get it?"

"Ah well one question at a time Doctor. We only believed one was neccessary since it would be used at a date when the entire Aufstand attack force was in lone place, we could use one blow to knock them all out. Afterwards we planned no weapons as peace would reign in our time. Now to answer your next question. On a planet also in our solar system the rebels were attempting to open up a base however there they found something, a laboratory of one of your goa'ulds. They found memory extraction technology and quickly set about capturing a Lotarians scientist. When they achived this they soon raided the facility holding the Wafflex and stole it. Ever since we have given up hope of matching them with weapons, the wafflex was in its 20th year of construction when it was stolen, and concentrated on shield technologies."

"I see. What if I could get the rebels to use to Wafflex now, on the goa'uld before Lotaria (OOC. Name of city...) is wiped out."

"They would never concur."

"I believe I may be able to persuade them."

"Well Dr. Hanson. You will be given no escort, we will not be seen to cooperate with the scum. We do however know of an Aufstand base, we will beam you half a mile or so near to that, then you will be on your own."

"Okay, understood."

"Well, actually Doctor not completely on your own. We have just developed this, it is a hand weapon known as a Termin. It has two settings, stun and kill. It fires energy blasts faster than your XM8, has an invisible setting where scanners and eyes will not pick it up, and is as small as an Earth 9ml. We would not give this weapon to anyone else but you from another planet. We only give it to you because of this great deed you are doing. Good luck Joseph Hanson."

Seph dropped his M8 onto a nearby table and marvelled at the new shiny silver Lotarian hand weapon he had just recieved.

Before he knew it he found himself in a deeply wooded area. He saw a small trickle of smoke leaving about 800m away and made his first step towards it, as he walked he pressed the com. device against his cold lips and said:

"Lotaria Command, this is Seph Hanson. I am making my way towards the Aufstand building. Wish me luck..."

(Hey, guys? I'm sorry for being as inactive as I've been, and I'm not likely to get more active any time soon. I'll post when I can, but I can't be on as often as the rest of you.)

Ryan began to move the ship further and further upwards and then dipped down suddenly on a crash course with a glider. A turret in the front of his craft activated and blasted through the cockpit of the glider, killing its pilots and sending it careening downwards. "Score!"

He clicked on his radio. "This is Nash, over."

A fuzzy voice came up over the radio in reply. "Anderson. Where the hell have you been? Why didn't you respond to my last transmission? Over."

"In a fighter ship, taking out gliders. Kill count two. Didn't hear your last transmission. Repeat orders, sir. Over."

"Rendezvous with Winters. Over."

"Yes sir." Ryan dipped the craft gracefully back down to the terrace, and opened fire on the gliders that had positioned themselves around it. He took them out quickly before they knew what hit them, and landed. He opened the cockpit. "Winters! Get in here!"

Jim had just watched as Seph was beamed away Jim muttered after he left "god speed Seph, all hope remains with you."

Jim walked over to a fighter "Now...how to get into these...things." Jim put his hand onto the cockpit and it instantly pulled back into the ships hull.
Jim got in via a cuople of steps that had appeared and he sat down and the cockpit closed again.

Jim looked around, everywhere he looked more things activated "Whoa, this is one hell of a fighter, Goa'ulds won't stand a chance." Jim started piloting it with a combination of thoughts and sterring, he quickly learnt where everything was after hovering for a few minutes in the fighter bay.

Jim sped out in his silver dart and instantly saw three Al'khesh bombing parts of the city and death gliders coming in from several angles taking out defence turrets, he thought about his prime target and on his screen a may of Lotaria appeared.

Jim saw three Goa'uld death gliders about to make a strafing run on another persons fighter. Jim flew in as fast as he could make the ship go and started firing.

Jim blew up a death glider with a shout of triumph "Yeah! That's one!" Jim watched as the other two death gliders were pulling back and regrouping with another two, Jim passed the fighter on the ground and saw it was Nash and Winters.

Jim pressed the radio to his lips and silently hoped this ship would allow communications through the ships hull other than the Lotarians radios "Nash, Winters, this is Anderson, i'm in the silver dart circling you, i have something for the both of you." Jim said as a death glider came screeching past.

Jim circled around the death glider, killing all power to the engines for four seconds, he then fired what looked like missles at the death glider. 'have to remember to request that technology' As Jim thought this the death gliders moved onto another part of the city.

Jim landed and came down next to Nash and Winters. Jim got out of thesilver dart and tossed them both a Lotarian radio "Use this to communicate, it's the Lotarians version of a radio, Seph is trying to negotiate with the Aufstand for a counter attack of some sorts, our job now is to save this city."

Jim jumped back into his fighter and watched as Nash and Winters jumped into theirs and the two silver darts took off, just as they took of two death gliders and an al'khesh came bearing down on their position, Jim attached the radio to where it looked like it could be put.

"Guys, take out the gliders first, then the al'khesh." Jim said as he sped towards the al'khesh and it's escort.

Winters was officially packing himself. He was army bred and had never got used to flying, it made him feel very uneasy not having any control over his fate. He strapped himself into the dart as Nash gunned the engines and slew the ship into a climb towards the advancing goauld attack crafts.
"Um Nash do really have to fly so fast" he said as Nash barrel rolled the ship into an attack run....

Seph got nearer to the smoke, and out emerged a great metallic structure. I was basic, yet somehow breath taking. It bore only one mark; the words "Aufstand H.Q. - Enemies Beware". Taking a deep breath Seph kept on going. Around him though he heard russling in the surrounding trees. hehe, these Aufstand arnt so sneeky. He reached into his pocket and turned on the invisible option on his Termin. Then three huge men armed with long shot gun like weapons lept out.

"What is your business here!" Growled one who had 'C.J. Nolan' sewed above his pocket.

"I am Dr. Joseph Hanson of the planet Earth. I am peaceful explorer who comes in relation to the current situation concerning an alien vessel above the skies of Lotaria."

"This is no concern to us."

"You realise that while the enemy is focused on Lotaria they will never see the Wafflex coming." As Seph said that one word, wafflex the Aufstand's ears pricked up.

"Please. Drop your petty civil squabbles and unite against a common foe."

"Do you know who that foe is?" Said one man now emerging from the bushes, judging by his much more glorious clothing Seph believed this man was the Aufstand leader.

"Yes. It is a foe of Earth too, the Goa'uld." Said Seph.

"Incorrect Doctor. I am Dictator Xeon, leader of the Aufstand."

"We know that that ship is Goa'uld!" Spat Seph, dropping his cool for a second.

"How?"

Now Seph's mind began to click, the sudden change in tactic to remove the ring device, the fact that so many 'jaffa' were still loyal.

"That ship, it's not occupied by Goa'uld is it? How did the Aufstand get such a ship?"

"Ah, you are a clever man Hanson. An Aufstand recon team found the ship abandend on a distant planet. We realised with such different shields Lotarian weapons would prove ineffected."

"And the gliders...the fighters that are over Lotaria currently?"

"We found them in the ships hangar all ready to go." Smirked Xeon.

"Now Doctor. Come with me, we do not have any problem with your planet but you see you have aligned youself with Lotaria, for this we must detain you until we have destroyed Lotaria. Then once we have pumped you for information we will shove you back through the ring. Ah, but before we do I'll have to take your Lotarian communication device" Xeon said thrusting his hand into Sephs pocket, luckily the one that did not have the Termin in.

Seph knew he meant torture. He pounced for his Termin and immediatly took down the three henchman but before Seph could turn Xeon was gone, most likely going back for support. Without thinking Seph ran into the unknown woods.

Within minutes Xeom hand released five search parties all ordered to shoot on site, Seph had no idea where he was, or how close the pursuers where. he just had to keep running.

boom Jim fighter had sustained more than enough fighter hits, these silver darts, Darai as had popped up on his screen several times when he had been hit and it translated itself aswell, Jim's Darai was smoking realy badly, he had managed to take down two death gliders now but the Al'kesh was prooving to be a huge problem.

No matter how many shots or what weapondry the Al'khesh' deflector shielding was stopping it. Not even the missles were doing anything to it, Jim now had two more death gliders on his tail "Gah, this is hopeless! I should of taken one of those cargo ship looking things with the extra firepower!!"

Jim using his mind turned the Lotarian radio on "Nash, Winters, this is getting us nowhere, if my readings are correct you've taken some damage aswell from that Al'kesh, fall back to the fighter bay and let's see if we can get these things repaired at the minimal."

At that, another death glider shot hit Jims engines. 'third time! dammit, this ship is sturdy but without some kind of shielding we won't last much longer...' Jim thought to himself but then a thought struck him. 'hang on, death gliders shouldn't be able to hit this thing so accuratly, even the best jaffa pilot have trouble hitting F-302's, and those are alot less manuvrable than these things...'

Jim pressed a few buttons while avoiding a couple of hit from the two gliders behind him and dived into what looked like a bridge. Jim turned the Lotarian radio on again. "Seph, how's it going? any cooperation from the Aufstand?"

Jim had to stop speaking and put his effort into manuvering as an Al'kesh was now directly above him and started unloading it's pay-loads of bombs. "Dammit!" Jim yelled as the death gliders came swooping in and flanked him, he was in a cravoss and got hit three times by the glider and once by the al'khesh turrets, Jims Darai was going down...

"NASH LET ME OUT OF HERE!!!" Major Winters screamed as the Darai took another hit and sent them spinning into a death-dive. Ryan, frantic at the controls, managed to pull the ship into a glide.
"Engines are dead!" Nash infomed Winters as their ship dodged and weaved energy blasts as he glided the Darai towards the wooded landscape below.

"WE ARE SO GOING IN!!!"

Jim strapped himself in with what looked like seat belt and he smashed directly into the side of a building after managing to pull up from the crevoss.
Jim inspected the fighter and found his Lotarian radio smashed, broken into little pieces along with pretty much everything else in the cockpit. Unsalvagable.
"AAAAARG" Jim screamed as he managed to drag himself out of the fighter wich was bent in several places and now smoking badly.

Jims left ankle was broken. He managed to crawl to the nearest piece of cover and met James behind it "Black!...I uh, mean James, sorry! How's things?" Jim asked almost a little too casually.

James snorted and then looked at Jims ankle and saw it was twisted the wrong way. "You alright?" He said as he pulled out a small device. It was sharp and looked strangely familiar, like a seringe. "This is going to hurt you to an unbearable extent." James said.

Jim was about to protest when James dug it directly into where his ankle was sprained "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGG!!!" Jim screeched, James picked up his large blaster rifle and started firing at a passing death glider.

Jim felt nautious, happy, depressed, angry and dizzy all at the same time. "What the hell..." Jim fell over backwards and layed on his back staring at a passing Al'khesh that had just let off a payload of bombs near them.

The Darai was spiralling downwards towards the forrested hills below. Winters had his eyes screwed up tight as the ship plunged towards the ground. He was whispering the childhood nursury rhyme his mum had taught him as a kid.
"When the bow breaks.......the cradle will fall...........oh frag we're gonna die......and down will come baby.......... cradel and all."

Ryan pulled the ship up at the last second and sent the ship smashing through trees and undergrowth as it plowed down the side of a hill. The inertial dampeners, that amazingly were still functional, reduced the impact damage as Ryan and Alexis were flung around the cockpit. They both jumped out of the ship as a disticnctly dangerous ascending whining noise grew from the ship. They sprinted down the hill and dove for cover as the ship exploded in a blosum of blue white flame, sending shrapnell scything through the undergrowth..........

Jim layed up, he felt amazing, every hurt and pain in him was gone. "What was that!?" Jim yelled over the screech of the death glider as it passed and just barely missed them, Jim crouched next to James and cocked his M16A2 and started firing in the air at the nearest Death Glider.

"That Jim, was our newest best and greatest in field medic technology, sure it hurts but it gets the job done well." James fired at the Death glider, he blaster was firing large green energy flashes ((OOC:Think seracken blasts, in Space Race the loop of kon'garad but, you've already seen the design of the blaster as i posted on the first page)) several hit the death glider.

"Dammit, that should of bloody destroyed it! This is your fault!" James said as he pointed directly at Jim with his free left hand, Jim was on the left James was on the right, they were trying to take out Death gliders.

Jim unstrapped his bag and pulled out his barrel cartrage ammo. He equipped it and put what was left of the magazine in his bag pulled some grenade ammo for his M203 launcher, loaded it croched back down.

At that point, he watched as James had his helmet up and he stood out in the open aiming at the death glider that was makin a strafing run on his position "Come and get me you sons of...." The rest of his sentence was blurted out from the combination of James' gunfire and the sound of Death gliders screechign and firing.

Jim opened fire at the death glider and watched as a glider blast landed right next to James and he was thrown ten meters away "Dammit!" Jim yelled, he let go the grenade at the Al'khesh bombing the city and it managed to take out a little part of the right half of it, barely doing any damage though.

Jim reloaded his M203 grenade launcher attachment and sprinted for the nearest gun explacement, it looked like this city was going to fall, the gun emplacements were beggining to fall more and more silent.

Jim grabbed a hgun explacement and looked at the control "uh...let's grab these and...ah, just like a joystick back on Earth" Jim tried to push back the cringe of sadness at mentioning Earth, even though he didn't have anyone back on Earth, he was just rcently feeling the aftershock of it's destruction, expecially when the Mess hall has run out of blue Jello.

Jim aimed at the Al'khesh, turned the gun emplacement power to maximum and fiddled with a few knobs and let loose at the Al'khesh. The entire thing shook backwards, like a jack-in-the box, "Whoa! this things got kick!" The blast just narrowly missed the Al'khesh and Jim started firing again.

The Gun had a firing rate of a shot per four seconds, he timed it well and managed to inflict alot of damage on the Al'khesh, unfortunately three Death gliders had turned their attention on Jim and were bearign down on his position.

Jim span the turret, managed to fire twice, both missing the somehow super-manuverable death glider and Jim jumped from the turret, Jim landed infront of a large piece of cover were and found Brigolous Tolar and Tara all sitting behind it with the same large blasters as James had.

"Jim, come and help us!" Tara said And Jim did so, he took a crouched position and let loose along with Tara Tolar and Brigolous at the Al'khesh that was smoking alot that Jim had previously hit.

Seph continued his run for life through the dense woodland. It was no use, if anything the search parties were gaining on him. He decided to dive into a nearby ditch, out of sight. Then as Seph was checking around he noticed trapdoor like structure a yard or so away, without a second thought he slivered forward and opened the hatch. Below was some kind of abandoned complex, Seph translated the language reltively easily and found he was in somekind of spy house for Lotarian spys amongst the Aufstand ranks. After feeling around the console Seph found the place even had it's own shields and automated defences, since they had not been activated when Seph entered he was not killed, but any future person coming to the complex would be easily killed.

After more checking over the systems Seph finally found a communication device. However it was not linked to the other systems but was built into a seperate console.

"Did you find James?!" Tara yelled over the roar of the Al'khesh engines, the four of them were now on the run, they were aiming to get underground again, they were hoping to catch them on the ground where, assuming they didn't have armour simimlar to the stuff on the Al'khesh they hoped they could overthrow them.

"Yeah, I was helping him before, he healed my broken ankle, but he took a full blast of a death glider shot and...I couldn't see or find him after that." Jim said, Brigolous stopped firing for a second and looked down, he had his helmet up and so did Tolar, the three of them looked downwards in respect.

"Why...those....GALONIESH!" Brigolous screamed, he ran right towards the Al'khesh and as did Tolar and Tara followed them they stopped right before it and all fired a huge pulse of green lightning.

All three hit the cockpit of the Al'khesh and the cockpit exploded and the Al'khesh landed right into the middle of a really tall building, it all began to collapse onto the Al'khesh and Jim Tara Tolar and Brigolous began to sprint away towards the tunnel entrances ignoring the fact that death gliders were now bearign down on their position and fast.

Seph had been trying now for at least ten minutes until he made a big discovery. After finally giving up hope and trying to ride this one out in his current location he had begun translating a handheld computer instrument, much like the one he had found on the transportation ship. It was what appeared to be the latest logs of the last inhabitents of the outpost. It read:

We believe now we have been discovered for sure. We felt watched all today by Aufstand security teams. We believe we may have even been followed to this location. But under the Clarnine Treaty of 2410 spies are clearly not allowed to be posted in each others ranks, if we are discovered then many Lotarians may switch sides when they discover this. We have wiped all computers this place cannot be traced to Lotaria, and are turning defence instruments off to ensure no energy signature can be tracked to this location. End of log.

Seph couldnt believe it, obviously 'they' had wiped the com. device amongst other things. But why would these people leave this one computer, surely this could trace alone the haven to Lotaria. Then Seph managed to scroll up to the previous days log.

Bovaln is inffected with what we believe is a deadly disease, we are unsure as to how he contracted it but I am personally quaranteening us both until he shows signs of recovery.

Thats it! Hanson thought. They both must have died with this disease just after the latest log, before they were able to leave. But then were was the bodies? Hansons eyes were somehow relentlessly glancing at a cupboard, some kind of closet. He opened it sure enough two rotten stinking corpes fell on top of him. Hanson may have now contacted the deadly disease. He fell pretty quickly, like he had been smakced twice with a slegehammer. His blurry eyes somehow focused on one button, blurily he made out 'emergency health button.', he did not wish to die alone like these two lambs had. He pushed his heavy aching body over towards it and in one lasting effort he lunged for the button.

In one flash of light he was transported out the complex and into a pure white room somewhere within Lotaria. Around him where half a douzen doctors all busily analysing him dressed in special anti innfection uniform. His hearing was terrible, but he did manage enough to hear their words.

"Hello Doctor. We are sorry your encounter with the Aufstand did not go as planned. However what we are going to tell you is very important. we have no controls from Lotaria into the complex, apart from one camera to keep an eye on whats going on there. A few months ago spies working within the Aufstands ranks where 'found out' by the Aufstand, instead of killing them Xeon had their a biological weapon tested on them, programmed to only have an effect on one patient until a certain amount of time. Then it becomes infectious by air. The two died and by coincidence the Aufstand then extended the land they occupied and unknowingly became in possession of the complex you found, because of this we were unable to go in and destroy the bodies and with them the disease. The bodies have been their ever since, when you entered the complex we simply prayed you would leave immediatly, lookily you found the button or you'd most likely be dead by now. Anyway Doctor, our knowledge of this substance is sketchy at best, do not worry you will not die. But you will have to stay here for one week while we nurse you back to full health.W

Seph's mind was boggling. But managed to cough a few words.

"The attacker not guld, tis afstand. trickin you."

Seph's had warned the Lotarians, he then relaxed and fell into a deep sleep under god knows how much medication.

OOC. Okay, I am going on holida for a week with no net access. So yes, I'm putting Hanson on Lotaria for one week. He was going to go to a Ancient ruins site but this mission dragged on to long, I leave tommorrow so thatd be impossible without major plot flaws. So yeah, Seph is now in Lotaria for one week, he's ill.

Nash and Winters, nursing minor cuts and bruises, were running for their lives. After peaking over a ridge near their crashed Darai they had seen a monstrosity of a space ship, what he and Ryan had presumed was the Wafflex, emerging from a secret hangerbay in the hillside. Aparently they had been spotted on sensors and many speeders((http://www.garyastleford.com/ke2_sm.jpg)) and troops ((http://198.144.2.125/MG42/FULL/SS%20DOT%2044.jpg but with more high-tech gadgets and the lotarian style guns that Acended showed earlier))had been deployed to capture them.

The Wafflex ((Why the hell did we call it the Wafflex?!? sounds like some new product from John Foreman or whatever. "Bye one John Foreman Wafflex now and recieve your bonus John Foreman cook book absolutly free.....???))
had risen over the hill and was bearing down on their position.

Winters signalled to take cover behind an outcrop of rock as they tried desperatly to find refuge. Hiding under the small ledge they waited............

ON:
The four of them sprinted to the hatch, Brigolous had offered to stay behind and draw the attention of the death glider but Tara had told him to keep running towards the bunker, it was made of the same material as everything else but it looked like it was painted red with jagged rocks coming out of it.

"That looks like the rest of the buildings around here exept for the jagged edges!" Jim yelled as it came into view Tolar ran next to him panting a little, Jim could hear it even under his mask.

"It's a bunker allright, the only entrance to the underground complex aswell, Tara ordered the remaining troops to hold up in there!" Tolar said Jim looked around and saw several troops in red and gold armour running towards the bunker all carying the same large blaster.

"IS the blaster your carrying the best you have?" Jim asked Tara as he sprinted a little to catch up to her Tara looked at him and said "These are the blaster we use for anything armoured, anti tank blasters! They also work well against Aufstand troops"

Jim was ussing the rest of his energy to run ahead of the pack, since he didn't have the large bulky armour on, he could get to the bunker first, just then Jim heard the dreaded scream of an Al'khesh' engines.

Jim ran into the entrance of the bunker and grabbed the nearest anti air gun, it,((OOC: Since i can't find an image and I don't have the episdode, think the turret Malcolm Reynolds used in the fight for Serenity Valley to shoot down that advanced airplane...From Firefly of course. lol))

Jumped on it and started firing large white clear waves at the Al'khesh, the waves were bouncing off the deflectors and the bunker ws suddenly hit by a barrage of Al'khesh bombs and death glider shots.

Jim, running off the turret, seeing Tara and Tolar run in the bunker, jumped down the manhole into the underground complex, he was free falling now, he reached out for the ladder that he knew was going to hurt to grab onto and grasped it, he instantly stoped falling but he dislocated his right shoulder.

"UGh...Better than hitting the bottom I suppose" Jim said as he lapsed onto the bar with his left hand and let go of it with his right dislocated shouldered arm.

Jim started hobbling down the ladder as best he could with one arm. Several minutes later he reached the bottom and a medic was waiting there with one of the seringe looking things that he began to hate so much.

"Where are you injured?" The medic said Jim looked back "Right shoulder dislocated and..." The seringe was jammed as hard as they could right into Jims right shoulder, Jim stood there for a few seconds and started twitching his left eye as the pain seered through him.

He sat down against the wall, he stared at the roof and watched as the hallucianation of Zat blasts started flying around his head. "Ow....." Jim managed to say as he arm popped itself back into place with a loud click

Jim stood up and looked as several people were having the seringes put into them in whereever it hurt, and he watched as Tara and Tolar came down the ladder and a fast slide, their hands andfeet at the side of the ladder.

"Jim, we lost Brigolous, he was hit by a glider shot and we didn't see him after that, we had to close the bunker doors and the hatch doors aswell with three seperate passcodes required to open them." Tara announced to Jim.

Tolar walked down the sloping hill towards the main entrance to the complex. He stood in the middle of the doorway saying "Ok, we'll set up defences here, here and here..." He said pointing. "Jim, let me take you to a more secure place..." Tara said leading him past the large doors that were now beggining to close.

As the doors shut a rather flustered looking man came running down another corridoor wearing the same thick armour as everyone else, but it was completely white.

He greeted Tara with a salute and looked at Jim for a few seconds and turned his attention back to her "Ma'am, before he passed out, the visitor said that these are not Goa'uld controlled ships, just salvaged Ha'tak and escorts"

"You must show me at once!" she said, he lead her away from where Jim was standing and she and him whent down yet, another cooridoor. Jim was alone now, no one to show him or help him with anything.

"Well......" Jim muttered to himself.

ON:

Jim span around several times, slowly looking at where to go, he was completely lost, he figured he was technically on the front lines and he also wondered who this visitor was.

'So, the Ha'tak up there is not Goa'uld but Aufstand...How Ironic that the greatest threat should turn out not to be the Goa'uld but their technology.' Jim thought to himself

Jim looked at the large amount of defences being put up and suddenly felt the entire place shake. Jim looked around again and began walking towards the defences and continued thinking to himself 'God, I hope that my team members are safe...'

Jim walked over to Tolar who was helping people pick up and move some of the defences for cover and watched as a really large gun was placed on top of the with a bipod assisting them to stand properly on the crates.

"Tolar, since I can be of no use anywhere else, I must request I assist." Jim said. "Well..." Tolar looked like he was about to say something meaningful and then regained his composure "Sure...since your offering, and we wouldn't ever make you do anything of the sort, you can hekp us with lifting and setting up the defences."

Jim nodded and walked over to a gun that several men were having trouble picking up because of it's weight. Jim bent down and with his extra added manpower they moved it over and set it up.

"Tolar...I have something to request of you if you aren't absolutely nessesary here." Jim said ater moving several more guns and semi-blast barriers to the great hall. Tolar looked down at him and said "Sure. you've been quite alot of help here, what is it you need?"

"I would like to know where my team are, I lost the communication device when my fighter was shot down, and i'm getting no transmissions from them on my radio so..." Tolar pursued the question "You wish for us to scan for your friends lifesigns? Follow me. I'll show you our scanning station."

Tolar began to walk at quite a fast pace but Jim kept up. After several minutes of walking through the now, utterly confusing corridoors, and opend up to a station with many, many clear panels and people working at them.

"Whoa, this is amazing! Simply stunning!" Jim managed to say. Tolar gave him a side glace, his helmet down, and Jim thought he saw a smile, but then Tolar walked to an empty console. "This is the lifesigns detector, unfortunately several of the detectors have been knocked out during the raids so the scan may not find your friends."

Tolar pressed several buttons in order and suddenly Jim heard a loud bleep Jim lookedup at Tolar and heard him say "That can't be..." Jim raised his eyebrow in wonder and Tolar noticed it.

"Your friends are on the very boarders of the shields apparently trying to take cover...the WAFFLEX!? the Wafflex is after them!?!? My god, your friends are doomed." Jim was instantly angered at this.

"Transport me to a fighter bay, i'm going to take this god-damned fighter bay, i'll take that Wafflex down!!!" Jim yelled. Everyone in the scanning room lookedat him and Tolar. "As you wish, but be warned, this ship had incredible defence capabilitys and should be able to take you down easily."

Jim looked up Tolar hard "They won't" Tolar pressed a few buttons on the desk near him and Jim was instantly transported to the very familiar fighter bay,but this time there were only a few fighers left and what looked like the blast doors, were shut.

Jim realised Tolar had handed him a communiction device and he pressed the talk button "Uh, Tolar..." im began but Tolar cut him off "Working on it."
Several minutes later, when Jim had taken a fighter the blast doors opend up.

Jim turned on the communication device and said "Thank you Tolar." Jim had become used to this device and switched Channels. "Captain Ryan, Major Alex, do you read me?!" Jim said, he placed it in the familiar holding spot and took off out of the fighter bay, the blast doors shut as Jim left.

OFF Sorry about not posting guys, not any internet access lately...Also, a Bipod is the little stand on large machine guns, instead of a tripod with three little legs a bipod has two.

Hanson suddenly awoke from a great sleep. His stunning blue eyes quickly set into action. Seph looked around getting his bearings. He could still hear a quiet roar of engine machinery and the pounding of Aufstand weaponary against the shield. His head was still having a quite serious migrane.

"Ah, Dr. Hanson. Welcome back to the land of the living. I am Joidear Nestib, Supreme Doctor of the Lotarian Medical Council. I have been personally overseeing your recovery. Now, due to the heavy usage of drugs it will seem as if you have been out for weeks. However it appears we overestimated the ability of the biological weapon. It has only been a few hours (OOC. Initially I said it would be a week since i thought this mission would be long gone, but in fact the time RPG wise that has past is only a few minutes, iv stretched that to a few hours.).

"Yes yes, this does not matter." Hanson shot back.

"This weapon. Have you any idea of how it works?"

"Ah yes well this is very interesting. It is certainly of a futuristic design. The machine actually fills your brain with an overload of extremely complicated information. Now this is particularly important. It is not the quantity of information but the quality. your see lots of information such as 'the sky is blue' is useless since your brain easily knows it and well its not challenging enough. So they upload information that is very complex."

"But why would they give you their own information."

"Because Doctor the information is deadly and too quick for you even to register whats being downloaded into your brain. You would usually be dead before you have access to the knowledge."

"How did you fix me?" Seph said bluntly.

"We simply used a memory erasing machine."

"It didnt work." Seph said.

"Excuse me?"

"Well at least not at all. I can still...rembem...I still know things!" Seph was now almost screaming from the pain.

"Ah well Doctor..."

"Oh god. You did it deliberatly didnt you, you were hoping to get some information..."

"Now listen here Doctor. The amount left in your brain could save the Lotarian people!"

"What about me...is it deadly?"

"Only for a sustained period of time, roughly 48 hours from the time you awake."

"Okay. So, I guess you would like me to give you the information."

The Lotarian nodded and gave Hanson some anti headache tablets.

"Doctor Hanson, are you sure you wish to go ahead with the memory recall technology. We have only just looked into the technology, its quite early on and will inflict alot of pain."

"Cant be as much as this damn headache..."

"Errm actually we estimate the pain is roughly twice as evident using the recall."

Seph gave a nod of disbelief before gently nodding his head.

"If all goes well in roughly twenty minutes the Lotarian people will have access to the Aufstands most complex information."

Hanson's head was experiencing the greatest pain it had ever endured. Seph was on the brink of collapsing, no, just hold on for information!. Seph was mutturing what appeared as jibberish as the doctor held a audio recorder to Seph's mouth and drastically scribbled notes down. So far it was mainly mission plans and troop movements, but nothing like weapons. Then however Seph stumbled upon something immense.

"The Aufstand have...got the pain...they....they have a facility with Ancient technology the found on a planet...it has...the plans describe an actual Alteran mothership!"

"Where, where is this facility?"

"It's not far from here, about half a mile due north. The ship will easily dispose of the goa'uld vessel, and its supposedly only reported by aircraft. Apparently the aufstand have many more pilots than infantry so...Supposedly they have great anti personell weapons on the ships, theres only a couple but..."

"But what Doctor, think!"

"Oh...I have a plan. Perhaps a diversionary tactic? Do you have extremely fast ships to spare?"

"Well not exactly..."

"What!" demanded Hanson.

"I do know of fast ships but they are racing craft, you know for sports. Theyh dont have weapons or..."

"From what you've told me they are fast enough to outrun the defence ships. Okay, once you remove this dam information i should be okay. Then you send in a couple of your racers, they hover over the facility whilst enemy ships get airborne, then they fly for their lives...luring the defenders away. Then I lead a team of Lotarians to commandeer the ships. I believe Colonel Anderson will want to know about this Sir. You should radio him..."

"But, but im just a Doctor...remove this information from my head then spread the word of the plan."

"The doctor seemed just pleased to be involved in something so important, immediatly a red scanner targetted Hansons head and stayed there for 20 seconds, afterwards Seph felt fine.

"Woh thats better, I will go and prepare and then head to the council room. Send a couple of soldiers and three of your finest scientists to meet me there ready for deployment."

The Lotarians did not appear to be a waring people, they appeared weak and are easily bossed around.

Jim hearing no responce, he flew towards what he thought was the wafflex and several large land speeders Jim flew towards them at breakneck speed and opend up with all he had.

The missiles flew towards the Wafflex and energy weapons flew aswell.
Several seconds later they all just impacted wastefully onto the shields and Jim found himself under immence fire.

"God dammit where the hell are Nash and Winters!?" Jim said to himself, he was silent for a while longer while managing to dodge the purple turret blasts coming from the Wafflex.

Jim turned on his radio "Nash, Winters, do you read me!?" there was static again and Jim took one manjor hit the side deflectors. "Oh, deja vu..." Jim muttered to himself as he tried to stop the fighter from crashing in a most uncomfortable fashion.

OOC. Apologies I used to check it all the time but when no missions were happening and stuff I just kinda forgot about it. I think I'll pull out, sorry.

Hanson knew as he was making his way to the council chambers that the Aufstand must not possess the ancient gene, hence them using the ha'tak and not this Alteran cruiser for the attack. If the Aufstand dont have it then the chances were that the Lotarians do not have it either, so it would be up to Hanson to actually fly the ship.

Seph after just a couple of minutes walked found himself at the council, who he was told by a Lotarian had acted efficiently and quickly in giving the go ahead for 'a raid on Aufstand premises to collect equipment vital in repelling the Lotarian attack force.'

A small group of people had massed a few metres away, it was the team who would be accompning Seph on the mission. Walking over to them was a councillor.

"Greetings my fellow Lotarians and the representative from Lotaria's newest ally, Earth. You have been gathered here today because you represent the best and brightest amonst our race and as a result have the chance to become Lotarian legend, 'the saviours'. Your mission is the aid and protect Dr. Hanson in any way possible so he can commandeer the ship. Today, several minutes ago three xr20 Racers left their hangers and made for the position in an attempt to lure the Aufstands defence teams away. They will br at their target in 60 seconds, once the Aufstand have taken the bate you will be beamed in. Good luck and godspeed."

OOC. I was thinking, perhaps since we dont have a ship like the Daedalus we could keep this one? my plan is to find that this was a more early generation of battle cruiser for the Ancients which is why it was left behind on a planet, you know just so it doesnt get too powerful, but still capable of beating ha'taks and interstellar travel.

Nash I have given you days to post and yet you failed, since I am killing you off I will be telling this not from Nash's perspective nor Sephs ,itl just be like a novel format.

-----------------------

Over the skies of Lotaria both sides were sustaining huge casulties. The scene was of pure chaos, with fighters trying to weave around the tall buildings that dominated Lotaria's skyline. Although the Aufstands death gliders were less advanced they had much greater numbers, a fact they were using greatly to their advantage.

On the east side of the city Ryan Nash of Earth was going trigger happy in taking down countless gliders and al'kesh. Currently he was ruggedly flying his Lotarians fighter after an Al'kesh which appeared to be fleeing the battle field, with perspiration covering his tired body Nash started a relentless chase.

A tall building a hundred yards or so away was casting an awesome shadow accross the city, the al'kesh appeared to now of lost control of its systems, it was doing a kamikaze run into the tower. Nash however, was determined not to let that happen.

When noticing what Nash was doing a Lotarian pilot quickly got on the communications.

"Nash dont do that! You wont stop him before you end up into the building."

Ryan ignored him, he believed in his abilities, perhaps too much. He upped the speed of his craft and prepped his weapons but before he could act the al'kesh hit the tower creating a huge fireball in the sky, Nash had become blinded by the light, he could not see to pull his vehicle upwards. Nash hit the tower at 200mph.

Luckily Nash had hit the area of the building already weakened by the al'kesh. There he sat, the cockpit smashed in so he was trapped, barely alive hundreds of feet up a barely standing tower. But then Nash was about to suffer the greatest pain of his live, a fire had been spreading through the building and had now reached his plane, Nash was being burned alive with no escape.

Ok. decided to change the outcome of event, and i'm taking control of COTG's character for a bit.

ON
Jim saw buzzing and zapping all ove the place, but he found the emergency repair button "why the hell didn't I use this the last time?!" Jim yelled to himself over the explosions, he pressed the button and the entire ship shook.

The ship patched up all it's injurys and wounds, Jim spotted Winters on the ground, but Nash was no where in sight, he turned on his Earth radio and said "Winters, this is Colonel Anderson, where the hell is Nash?"

There was static and then "He's....gone...I watched his fighter fly into a building, the building that is now in an inferno of fire, he was chasing down an Al'khesh...I think." Jim continued talking while dodging Wafflex fire.

"Winters, dammit, i'm coming down there to meet you, hold on a moment."
Jim managed to put his fighter nto a nose dive, avoiding all nessesary fire, he managed to pull out of it and landed quite softly next to Winters, the top popped open and Jim yelled "GET IN!"

Winters did as he was ordered and jumped in, he strapped himself in with what looked like seat belts. Jim made sure Winters was ok, suddenly hundreds of a little lights swarmed around Winters and his cuts were beign sealed up.

"What the hell?" Winters said as he light disappeared again. Jim looked in puzzlement and then took off, remembering the battle around him. He turned on the Lotarien radio again "Seph! Seph, Nash is...a casualty of war....I don't know if you can hear this or not, but Winters is with me in a fighter, we're puling out, we can't interefere anymore, we tried and looked what happend, we lost Nash."

Jim was silent for a moment and managed to avoid another blast from an Al'khesh. "We're heading back to the Stargate, maybe this fighter will be enough to redeem ourselves." Jim awaited Sephs anser, he flew out of the city shield and it looked like he was in the green.

OFF Seph, theres not THAT many Death Gliders and Al'khesh ok? And the Aufstand things are now pouring in the barely sustained shields :) And, would COTG PLEASE post?!
Edit:There are in total, 16 Death gliders and four Al'khesh, two were destroyed and the last two were because of the cruiser :) Also, the remaining death gliders *4* Were also destroyed by the Alterran ship.

OOC. Okay sos I wasnt too clear on that.

Hanson's team beamed majestically right next to the facility. The engine roar of the Aufstand defence ships pursuing the diversion was getting ever fainter. Seph took his Elim (changed name for no real reason, just act like it never happened ;)) and set it to stun before firing three sohrt blasts at the huge bolt protecting to enourmous steel door. It soon relented and Seph was inside in minutes.

It was a huge underground facility containing just one object, the most awesome battle cruiser Seph had ever seen, though it was only 30 years or so more advanced than Earth's own ship the Daedalus, it still just gave off some amazing vibes. The ships doors opened as soon as Hanson drew nearer, perhaps working automatically sensing his gene, inside was a maze of futuristic corridors. reckon they'll be any sign posts? Seph thought.

After a few minutes Seph heard something on the radio, very crakley but he identified it as Anderson's voice. nash....casualty. Instantly Hanson began to well up, swallowing back a huge moan, but he knew he had to get this job done, he could morn later.

Trembling Seph made his way to the bridge and sat in the chair. All the ships systems engaged, it was a technical marvel Seph noted, he was simply thinking commands such as engage shields and sure enough the ship was protected. Seph was about to start to fly the ship when a scientest butted in...

"Err Doctor. Do you see a way out large enough to fit this...ship?"

Seph knew the guy was right, the roof must open or something but only an Aufstand could possibly know how to open it. Seph sunk into his chair, already he was having to concentrate 100% to not release some deadly drones or blow the ship up, but it was just too hard, Nash was gone? But how?

"If I may suggest sir...a more agressive tactic." Said a Lotarian gaurd stepping ceremoniously forward.

"Like what?"

"We blast the overhead ceiling and fly out!"

"Wouldnt the ship get damaged?" Asked Hanson.

"By the looks of this ship the shields will easily hold."

"Lets do it." Said Seph before turning back to the controls.

Drones....ceiling....kaboom! Hanson thought to no avail.

"Come on Doctor, really concentrate."

Seph tried a new tactic, he pictured the ceiling being devasted by 5 drones, and sure enough within seconds the ceiling had collopsed and the ship was free.

"So what do you want to call her?" Asked Hanson.

"I do not know Doctor. You decide!"

"Hmmm. How about The Arthurian?"

The Lotarians exchanged worried looks, considering the mental stability of the Doctor.

"Back on Earth King Arthur was a great and nobel warrior, he is the stuff of legends. In addition the people that built this ship are known to have been in contact with Arthur. So, lets give the Arthurian a test drive :D"

Using the same picturing the action technique Seph steadily hoisted the Arthurian into the air before letting loose and launching the Arthurian into great speeds towards the Lotarian skies.

"I'm checking what weapons we've got and we have almost a full tank of drones, energy weapons similar to those found on Asgard ships by the looks of it, oh and we've also got 15 fighters, some kind of fighter ships I think, oh and 5 puddle jumpers in the second hangar. Hell yeah"

Fighting back a small headache and tears in his eyes Seph emerged onto the Lotarian skies like a giant, with a few insect like fighter plane buzzing around harmlessly. The quick fire energy weapons rapidly disposed of many Death Gliders. Seph then caught sight of the Wafflex, he instinctively fired 5 drones towards it resulting in in the sheer devastation of the weapon. Suddenly the ha'tak stopped firing and turned to run, but before it could even swing around Seph had fired a further 5 drones and constant energy weapon fire at the now dwafed ship.

Jims sensors were off the scale "Sir, what the hell?!" Winters said behind Jim, Jim managed to get his sensors to work and register what was around him and suddenly the picture of a very familiar looking ship appeared.

It was Alterran. Jim looked at some more of his readings and turned on his Lotarian-built radio, he began to fly towards the ship and tried to get as close as he could and began to speak.

"This is Cololonel Anderson and I have Major Winters in the back with me, requesting permission to land on the Alterran ship." Jim awaitrd a responce, since the ship had taken out a good portion of the Death gliders and the remaining two Al'khesh and had totally desimated the Wafflex and Ha'tak, Jim assumed the Lotarians were controlling it.

Jim beamed a great smile. "Roger that Seph and, you can call me Jim, none of this "sir" stuff, you ARE a civilian remember?" Jim said as the beta cargo bay opened up.

"Anyway I've been reviewing some of the systems and the drones or not as powerful as the ones we've seen used in Antartica, still strong but not as powerful of the nukes we had on board th Daedalus, though it has to be said Sir there are alot more drones on here than the nukes we had. So more of a quantity thing. Oh and the energy weapons are more for anti fighter and bomber uses, just a tad more effective than rail guns."

"Something we do have going for us is the interstellar travel capabilities. Chances are it can go intergalactic, but I since this is more old school I'm not about to volounteer to test it. I'd say from the date range we've stamped on the ship the Alterrans would have had bigger ships for intergalactic travel. This was probably for milky way uses....anyway my point is its very fast, if we were to set of now itd only take minutes to get back to the alpha site."

He gazed around the room with his eyes wide shut. His arms, his chest, his legs, they soared, the burns would not be soon forgotten. He groaned in pain as he realized that he was not dead.

"What in the name of god happenned..." he murmered, before he realized that he could speak - despite moments ago knowing all to well that he was dead. He could still feel many of the burns, but... what was that? A shining light above him? "Am I dead?"

"Not quite, Ryan Nash."

"This doesn't make sense..."

"But it does all to well. We install failsafe components in all of our fighter ships so that if there is a hull breach its pilot and passenger will be transported to a safer location - the first homing beacon. Currently that is here in the city... in the medical office. Consider yourself lucky to remain living. In a few moments, your arms and legs will feel strength return to them... although the burns will remain for a long time."

"But... I..."

"Do not speak now, hold your breath."

"How bad?"

"You have suffered a great deal." The white light subsided momentarily. "Open your eyes and make a small circle as you walk."

As Ryan openned his eyes, he found himself looking into the eyes of a Lotarian doctor. "You saved my life... thank you."

"If it were not me it would have been any other Lotarian doctor. Now walk so that I may determine how quickly you may yet return to fighting condition."

"Sure..." Ryan began walking, and stumbled straight to the floor.

"It is worse than I expected. Return to the mat and the healing device. I will return shortly." Without another word, she left the room.

"Wait! Ah, nevermind." As Ryan lay back down, questions flashed through his mind. "Return to fighting condition? Do they want me to stay or something? Have I been drafted into their army?"

One last question flew through his head before he succumbed to exhaustion. "Why did I take this job?"

OOC. Ryan I wish you would have PMd me, I was going to say we never found your body....leaving room for a return. I dont buy this homing beacon thing, thats technology even the ancients hadnt made. Yes I suppose I should have PMd you but it took you 5 days to notice you were dead, you hadnt been active for like a week before that and I thought you had basically gone MIA. Anyway, I cant be bothered to change your story, this post was going to contain us trying to beam your body out of the building to bring home, but then we couldnt and itd all be mysterious...but anyway, what are your plans...a long term recovery? To badly to be in army until we find an alien cure thing thatd nurse you back to full health? Please put us in the loop.

Hansons head was trying to absorb alot of information, the headache reminded him of the one he had suffered at the hands of the Aufstand's virus, info overload.

(Just saying that you didn't find the body does not leave room for a return after you horrificly burned me to death. *glare* And as for the homing beacon technology, it's a clever twist and it's amazing that the Ancients didn't invent it. It's not something the Ancients couldn't have built, it's not an entirely high level of technology, it's just something that they never bothered to.
As for my plans... Maybe I'll tell you. Maybe I won't.)

Ryan walked around the room for a bit. The wounds had closed and the damage had been undone, for the most part. He knew that most of him was regenerated by alien technology, for his hands, his arms, his feet and legs, they were far too burned to be repaired.

"You are a new man now. As you suspect, much of you was artificially recreated to match your previous image. However, your burns will remain on your shoulders and chest. We could regenerate new skin onto them, but it would involve removal of the old skin and may take quite some time. Do you have any questions?"

Ryan looked at the Lotarian doctor, unsure of how to ask his question. "Um... my, uh... reproductive organs..."

"You will be able to reproduce."

"Okay... that's a... relief." Ryan was feeling very akward, but still somewhat relieved.

"We will have you fit to lead your squadron soon enough."

"Wait... what? My squadron? I'm not Lotarian." Ryan was confused.

"You displayed exemplary piloting skills and you would have no doubt given your life to save us from the Aufstand, and for this we are grateful. Therefore we are awarding you."

"But... what makes me any better than any of the other people? I'm not that good." Ryan was now certain that something was horribly off.

"Because we intend to make you so." On that eerie note, the Lotarian doctor left the room.

Okay well il be sitting here on the edge of my seat in the mean time  In addition I hope your not making the Lotarians evil, if you do after we've spent the whole point of the mission making an ally I will certainly not be a happy bunny. And yes not finding your body would make for a possible come back, you see it adds mystery and makes us finding you in the future a good storyline too. It makes the storyline better, it adds more twists. (heh, agree to disagree i think on this one :))

IC.Hanson decided to relieve him self temporarily after turning the weapons systems off, for safety reasons. He slumped tired into his chair waiting for Anderson, only to be rudely awaken by a ringing sound filling the bridge. what in the name of all thats holy?. The ringing then temporarily ceased and made way for a female voice.

"Primary weapons depleted. Primary weapons depleted." It said.

"Primary weapons...they would be...." Said Hanson.

"The drones Doctor, the ship has run out of drones. Perhaps they were all used long ago, the ones we used against the wafflex being the very last ones left."

"But...I checked...I was sure...wait. Oh god, I forgot. This is an older cruiser so more likely a more obscure dialect. I thought it said alot of drones, well gthe translated version at least, perhaps it said not alot? I had a bliding headache at the time, well I still do..."

"That would be a suitable explanation doctor."

"Well I guess we're not about to slaughter out enemies with the press of a button...." Hanson said slumping once more into the seat.

"It can still serve as a suitable transportation vessel, and with the energy weapons I believe it can dispose of death gliders and al'kesh."

"Yes I suppose." Hanson replied.

ON
In a brilliant flash of light Jim was on the bridge. The first thing he saw was Seph slumped in a chair. "Well. A fine piece of work you managed to do! Congratulations, I think you've made employee of the month with this..."
Jim said to Seph.

Jim did his usual smile and walked over to the console, suddenly, it was like his entire body kicked into Alterran-mode. He started pressing several buttons, and before long realised a fatal flaw in his plan to fly them out of here.
He couldn't read Alterran.

"Damn...Seph...I'd fly us out of here...but I can't read ancient. we're going to need to do a joint operation in order to fly this thing out of here, i'll handle the bulk of the strain, you just tell me what to think and press."

Jim span around to a very exhausted looking Seph.

OFFShort, but sweet and continues the RP enough...So, In case you guys were wondering, Winters is in the ships hangar...and let's leave him there, so Nash, mind telling us how you plan to get home? Makes it a little difficult on the other RPers...

OK, this is going to kill of Winters, and show this cruiser ain't invincible aswell....
ON

Jim was standing on the bridge, the doctor looked almost unconsious.
"Seph, SEPH!?" Suddenly the entire ship shook.
Winters felt the explosion, the interial dampeners compensated quickly, but he knew the ship must have been under fire, and a heavy blow aswell.

The Lotarians looked all ,around and started to panic, they all headed up towards the bridge. Jim looked around himself, flustered, Seph looked like he couldn't move. The ship shook again, Jim turned on his Lotarian radio wich he had taken with him from the fighter.

"All lotarians, prepare to evacuate, we're under attack and...I don't know if I can fly this thing..." Jim realised he had said his fears. Ignoring all the move warning lights flashing at him, he started pressing buttons randomly and concentrated in his mind on getting some kind of weapon working.

Winters heard the on-board message, he was standing outside the fighter and looked around, he realised they were still under attack. He thought for a moment and then jumped into the Lotarian fighter, he took off and headed on out fight whatever was attacking the ship off.

Jim managed to turn the scanners on by accident, he saw a visual of an Al'khesh appear on the screen. "Oh, my, god...." Jim muttered to himself, he then returned to concentrating on weapons, but since he hadn't seen the ship launch anything but the drones, he didn't know what he was trying to think for.

Winters sped around, he almost instantly picked up the Al'Khesh in bombing the Cruiser. "God damn son of a bi..." Winters pulled into directly behind it, despite how much he had despised riding in the fighter, he kew the lives of his team members required him to destroy that Al'khesh.

Jim was madly hitting the buttons, suddenly all the Lotarians flashed ina brilliance of white light, and they were gone. "WHAT THE HELL!?" suddenly, a picture of the Lotarians on the ground was seen, they wre all safely inside the tunnels and looking uite confused, Jim then continued pressing buttons and centrating on some kind of drone weapon.

Winters sped towards the Al'khesh, they were now going head on "Just...one...well...aimed...shot..." Winters had to get the timing perfect.
He targeted the Al'kheshs deck and waited, the bombs had stopped and Al'khesh pulled up, suddenly several shots of gold brilliance sped towards Winters' fighter.

"Now!" Winters said to himself as he let off the rest of the missile ordinance and energy weapons, they hit the mark, but it was to late.
The energy blobs smashed into the cockpit and fileld it with a brilliance of showers of sparks...

Jim turned on his Earth-made Radio and said "Winters, are you there..." After waitign a moment, he tried again. "WINTERS!" Suddenly, a picture the remains of an Al'khesh appeard on the ground, below the cruiser. And then Winters fighters near it.

"No,...NO NO!!! WInters!!! Not you!" Jim actually had a tear running down his cheek.

Winters was dead.

"There's only one thing to do now...." Jim said as he concentrated as hard as he could on the Alpha site. The ship began to rise up into the Atmosphere and it climed higher and higher. Jims face had turned a very dark shade of purple, he wasn't pressing any buttons, but his desire to get away from this god-forsaken planet was stronger than ever.

The cruiser broke atmosphere. The ship had sustained heavy damage, it's weapon systems were down, as were their shields, but luckly the engines and hyperdrive were still allright. "Now...." Jim said as a hyperspace window opend up, and the Cruiser entered it.

Charles stepped through the Gate with his P90 up, and ready for an enemy. As the blur of going through the gate wore off he started to look around, and saw no one in the general area. Jim stepped through the gate, his rifle ready as his eyes scanned the area for possible enemies. He saw the movements of his team as they formed a defensive perimeter. Things seemed to be clear for the moment. "Team Two, you'll be holding the gate area, get dug in as best you can, and make sure you have the radios clear in case we're coming back in a hurry under fire. Captain Marshall, you're in charge of that team, but make sure you keep your heads up."

Turning to Hutchinson who had just emerged from the gate right beside him he said "Larry, listen to Marshall, but when you lay that arsenal of claymores and C4 make sure there's enough of a gap between two rows in case you have to blast them as we're coming back through. I know I don't have to tell you that, but I want to cover our bases."

He turned and saw Captain York keeping his eyes out as the perimeter was set. "Captain York.... as soon as the initial foothold is secured I want to get us moving, we don't know how long things may stay clear. Plus... I want you to know I want to get that d**n snake out of Beale as badly as you do."

Larry came through the gate, emerging almost on top of Col. Anderson. He heard Jim's initial orders as he hefted his p90/zat combo while he surveyed the outer perimeter of the gate area. He looked at Jim in time to hear him say, "Larry, listen to Marshall, but when you lay that arsenal of claymores and C4 make sure there's enough of a gap between two rows in case you have to blast them as we're coming back through. I know I don't have to tell you that, but I want to cover our bases." Larry smiled at his team C.O., the first high ranking officer he'd geniunely respected and considered a friend in a long time, and spoke quietly, "Sir, you know exactly how I'll do it.... 12 yard spacing, all the charges primed to blow outwards in the first row, up and out in the second, and out in the third, with a few extras due to the mass quantity of explosives I have, depending on the terrain. As long as you have a few yards lead on any bad guys chasing you in, I'll blow them to kingdom come.... and then some with all of you none the worse for wear. Good luck and good hunting sir." He moved into position as Jim turned to Captain York to get the strike team organized. Since the initial survey of the area seemed to indicated everything was clear, he started looking for ideal places to plant the claymores and c4 for maximum effect.

This is a desert planet folks, so keep hydrated while we can. Captain Marshall, make sure you get a solid defensive perimeter set up here... terrain wise, it's sand as far as the eye can see, though it's flatter than Abydos was. I'll set the claymores at five and fifteen metres. We'll hold the C4 in reserve; we may need it later. Sarge, establish a perimeter and then take up a patrol. We'll alternate guarding the 'Gate and patrolling. Clear?"

As Dobson moved out with the strike team, he spied good locations for the m60's. 'Not exactly turrets, since we didn't bring any turrets and m60s only come stock with bipods, but those small rock outcroppings will give good cover in case anything does come through the gate, and the positions will give a good crossfire while not exposing either m60 to friendly fire from the other . He set them up, and then moved to assist Marshall with placing the first row of claymores around the gate itself, about 5 meters from it, angled to blow inwards towards the gate and continuting with a second row at the 15 meter mark, again firing inwards.

Satisfied with his work, he spoke to Marshall. "Captain, we still have more than enough explosives to set a three layer outer perimeter as well." ((ooc, go back to the post with Hutchinson and Anderson talking for details on that))

Jim nodded to himself as York took the point and began to scout ahead as the team assembled itself. Nodding to each member, and giving a brief bit of encouragement to each of them individually, he spoke quickly to Marshall before the whole strike team departed. "Marshall, you should have it pretty easy here. Just remember to trust your teammates' skills and don't try to take everything onto yourself. That was one of the toughest things I had to learn, and sometimes I still struggle with it. Just keep the radio frequencies clear in case we need to call for backup. We'll check in with you every two hours."

He quickly moved up to York "You're briefed as much as I have been, so you know which way to head. Stay about 20 yards ahead of us, but don't let us lose sight. It shouldn't be a problem since this area of the desert is mostly flat, but if the wind kicks up, we don't want to get separated."

Turning back to Dobson he spoke again. "Rich, hang back about 15 yards, but I'm gonna tell you the same thing I told York. Don't lose sight of us. If the wind kicks up and visibility drops, I don't want to lose you in this desert."

Moving to Captain Richards and Lieutentant Tollan, "Richards, Tollan, I want you to hang in the middle of the group about 5 yards to either side of me. I'll be keeping an eye on all quadrants, but I want you concentrating on the left flank Jacen. Lt. Tollan, watch the right flank. God, I hate the desert He thought as he kept up the pace all of a sudden out of the corner of his eye he saw a flash. Without even thinking he span to his left and saw two Jaffa.

A patrol He thought. Charles had two options fire, and let everyone know they were here or duck and cover and hope they didn't see him. Realizing that getting captured wasn't going to be fun he took the latter option and jumped behind a small pile of sand off to his right. He then grabbed his radio, and quickly clicked it twice signaling enemy activity.

Charles then pulled himself in as close as he could, and just hoped the jaffa didn't come over to where he was or they would be in alot of trouble.

Jim's eyes kept roving in all directions, confident that his team would be able to handle what lied ahead. 'Too much sand.... I hate deserts, but nothing we can do about it. If the wind doesn't pick up, we're gonna be leaving tracks for any enemies to see, but that'll work both ways. To have Dobson try to cover them would slow us down too much and expose our rear unneccessarily.

After a few more moments, he glanced forward, and saw York duck hurriedly behind a dune. As he was about to query him for the sitrep, he heard York click the radio twice - enemy activity. 'I wasn't expecting enemies this quickly.... so much for easy in, easy out.' Not knowing how close the enemy was to York, he gave the order for everyone to get down and under cover by hand signals, not wanting to risk giving York's position away.

Once the entire team hit the deck, he crawled up to York's position as quickly as he could while maintaining silence, since the dune he hid behind was obscuring the view of the enemy, as well as blocking their view of the strike team.... for now. He whispered to Charles "What's the sitrep, Captain?"

Jim nodded after looking around the dune just enough to verify the enemy count. "Quick, and more importantly, quiet is the way to take them, Captain. Good analysis."

Jim clicked the radio once, then three times to indicate to Lance that he wanted his attention. After the lieutenant made eye contact, he hand signaled that he wanted him to take the jaffa down with his silenced sniper rifle.

Back at the 'Gate, Marshall was just looking out over the sand dunes, trying to find the other team somewhere on the horizon, when his radio crackled to life for just an instant, and then again. It might've been the double-click from the other team to indicate trouble, but at such an extreme radio range there was every chance someone was just saying something mundane and it had been garbled by the distance.

Marshall quickly pressed the 'transmit' button on his radio. "Sierra Gulf Se--" He stopped, remembering that they weren't SG-6 and -7 on this mission. He pressed 'transmit' again.

"Sierra Gulf Alpha, I thought I heard a double-press over the radio. What's your situation? Over."

He continued to look out over the dunes, hoping that the message would get through.

Hearing several more clicks come over the radio, Lance looked up towards Colonel Anderson and Captain York. The colonel signaled him to dispose of the enemy presence. There was no clear shot from his current position so Lance crawled to a nearby sand dune in front of him. Staring through the scope, he spotted the Jaffa and decided to go for the furthest one first. 'If I miss here with a fully automatic sniper rifle then I know I've been spending too much time with the Asgard. Lance started to slowly press down on the trigger and fired, easily taking taking out the enemy patrol with well placed head shots. 'No way those guys are getting up from that. The job done, Lance glanced over towards Colonel Anderson to see whether they would continue immediately or wait to ensure it was only a small patrol in the surrounding region.

"Serria Gulf Beta, we have enemy activity request radio slience," Charles quickly, but clearly sated into his radio at his fellow officers request for information.

Charles silently thanked whatever was working behind the scenes for Tallon's great shots. One obstical avoided, He thought, but then the worst thing in the world happened. He heard voices in Jaffa. He quickly looked up to see another small Jaffa patrol running towards their comrades dead bodies. Great. He thought They know we are here. Charles didn't know what to do by this time the patorls would have informed each other of what was going on. They were in a rock in a hard place, Charles knew fighting would get alot of men killed, but it might be the only way luckily for him he wasn't the man who had to make that choice.

York's voice came in over Marshall's radio, very tiny but still discernable.

"Serria Gulf Beta, we have enemy activity request radio slience,"
Marshall quickly turned to back to the 'Gate and the defensive team.

"Alpha team is reporting enemy contact," he said. "Man the defences, team; if they came by ship then they might think of coming through the 'Gate as well."

And in case they do decide to come here by ship... Marshall jogged over to where all the extra ammo and weapons had been dumped. Amongst the items was what looked like a large briefcase, which Marshall quickly fished out of the heap and opened up. Inside, in static padded positions, was several sections of long tubing, a viewfinder with onboard computer and a shoulder mount. Marshall remembered grabbing the item on an instinctual whim back in the armoury while loading up for the mission. It was an item that would be infinately useful in fending off ship-based attacks.

It was a portable Stinger missile launcher.

Marshall left the Stinger components and went to check on the M60s. They'd been properly set up with overlapping fields of fire that covered the entire Stargate, with ammo belts loaded and ready and the safeties properly secured.

Secure in the knowledge that the defensive team had the equipment and skill to handle any oncoming attackers, Marshall was confident. They were ready.

Lance saw even more Jaffa approaching the patrol that he had just downed. 'Great. Just great.' He knew they really didn't have a choice. The Jaffa had been alerted to their dead troops and would attempt to surround the team. The only thing working in their favor was that the Jaffa wouldn't know their exact position, so, if they could punch a hole in the enemy formation or escape it altogether in the same move... Getting Colonel Anderson's attention, Lance communicated, using hand signals, that he wanted to stay behind to take out the newest enemy patrol and continue to cover the team while they moved off to get to the Tok'ra.

He glanced at the radio again, hating the fact that he was so out of the loop. He was trained to be an observer, used to knowing the enemy’s every move and reporting relevant information, this situation was maddening. Sighing, Richard decided to crawl to a vantage point where he could more easily see the Colonel's response.

Jim peered around the dune.... there were only four Jaffa in this patrol, but more were on the way in the near future most likely. Just running wouldn't work due to the terrain, so the best option would be to have both snipers take them out quickly, then make a run for it, hoping the tok'ra base was still intact. Not wanting to give away the location of the tok'ra base if the Jaffa didn't already know it, he decided to take a heading about 15 degrees to the right of the straight line path to it to avoid marking its location for the Jaffa. About halfway there, they'd make the turn to the proper heading. He let York know his plans for their exit and turned to order the snipers to fire.

Tallon's motion caught his eye as he was about to give his orders. 'He wants to stay behind? Gutsy, but not necessary just yet. Splitting our team is the worst thing we can do right now.' He signalled back to Tallon that he wanted him to take the two Jaffa on the right with his silenced rifle, and then signalled Dobson to take the two on the left, but to allow Tallon to fire first so there'd be one less to respond to the sound of his rifle in case there were any misses.

Turning to York and Richards, he signalled them to have their weapons ready in case the snipers failed to take them out. He'd briefly considered having Richards use the silenced P90/zat combo that Hutchinson had cobbled together at the base, but he knew it wasn't field tested, and while the Jaffa were in easy sniper range, it would be iffy at best for a p90 to score a lethal hit with one shot at their current range so the best course was to let the snipers handle it. He indicated the direction for their withdrawal to the entire team and signalled the snipers to fire at will.

Richard smiled as he read Anderson's signals. 'Bout time I got something to test my accuracy, and letting Talon fire first should give me time to move into a slightly more elevated position.' He thought as he crawled to a small dune, sighting in on one of his targets.

After he confirmed Talon had done his job, he squeezed off two shots. The first, though aimed at the head, caught the target through the neck. The second target was hit in the lower jaw a moment or two after his comrade. 'Gotta watch that drop, must be higher gravity then Alpha.' He signaled that the targets were down before taking a moment to adjust his scope.

After all four Jaffa were dropped, he signalled the strike team to move out rapidly. Seeing Tallon hesitate slightly, he guessed that he was considering staying behind anyway.

Moving next to him he stared into his eyes as he spoke, quietly so only he could hear, but calmly and firmly. "Lieutenant, I can understand why you'd want to stay behind and cover. However, we're a small team, and we can't afford to split up right now. Those unsilenced shots may have given a bearing for any other patrols within earshot, and if that second patrol called in before we saw them, they'll have a position to triangulate on us. You're a damn good shot, but you're not going to be able to do squat if they split up and flank you, which is the first thing any competent squad leader would do if they have reason to suspect sniper activity. I shouldn't have to explain myself as the commanding officer, and I'm going to chalk this up as an instructional opportunity for a potential future team leader rather than insubordination. You'll likely have the chance to plug more Jaffa, now let's move it out, unless you want us all here for the reinforcements"

Dropping both the Vintorez and the clip, Lance went for his M9 Beretta, pulled it out of the leg holster and fired, just as the Jaffa fired at him. Cursing under his breath, Lance knew all he would be doing is slowing the team down with a leg wound. Limping reduced speed and getting helped wasted men. Either choice was unacceptable. Speed was of the essence and in his current condition, Lance crippled that. In all the confusion created by the firefight, he knew he could probably sneak away and cover the team from a new location like he originally intended to do but still something nagged at him even though he wasn't quite certain what it was.

Sliding down the sand dune that he was using as cover before, Lance recovered his balance and raised his M9 into firing position. Glancing back towards the team, he smiled grimly. The dune provided some cover against him being seen by the rest of his team, yet, he couldn't help but feel that this one time his insubordination was going over the limit. Lance had disobeyed orders before; most of his commanders didn't even deserve to be leading men with the tactics they put forth. Colonel Anderson, though, was different even if Lance didn't agree with him. He just hoped his actions would buy the team enough time.

It was only until Lance had started moving away from both the Jaffa and the team that he realized he had forgotten his sniper rifle. 'Bad day... At least I still have my Beretta and grenades...' Finding another sand dune a little closer to the fighting, Lance layed down on his stomach. The sand burned into his wounded and he had to refrain from crying out. The stinging sensation was a powerful one, but, one that he knew he had to deal with.

Lance pulled the pin from one of his frag grenades and tossed it towards a medium sized party of Jaffa. That party was merely a diverson. While Lance was distracted with them another group had managed to close in from the right. They were too close for a grenade that would kill- frag or phosphorus.
He could have used a smoke grenade but that wouldn't do much good and it took several valuable seconds to toss and let the smoke fully form. Time that he could use instead to shoot them with the remaining bullets in the clip.

Reaching for his pistol, an energy blast exploded close to him. Too close. Firing at the closest Jaffa, he saw him fall. Another blast came in at him but Lance managed to roll away and avoid being hit. The roll caused him to come down hard on his wound, though. This time, he couldn't help but cry out in pain. Now the Jaffa were almost on top of him. He fired at the closest one...but missed. Having already used most of the rounds in the clip and with too many Jaffa, Lance knew he was in trouble.

He managed to take a pair of Jaffa but missed with the final two bullets. The team was still engaged in combat, so he couldn't rely on them to help him out of this one. Five Jaffa now surrounded him, demanding his surrender and that he slowly place his weapon on the ground. Lance did so. As he began to lower his pistol to the ground with his right hand, Lance used his left hand to sneak his combat knife and a frag grenade and put them underneath him. Muttering a silent prayer as his M9 touched the ground and came to rest, Lance lashed out at two of the Jaffa with separate drop kicks. They fell, one of their zat guns falling near to his position. As Lance threw the combat knife at one of the other enemy troops, he had already grabbed the zat and fired at yet another which dropped three of the five. Barely managing to roll out of the way from the two blasts, the remaining Jaffa were felled by zat blasts. Before the two Jaffa he drop kicks could rise, they were also zatted.

In the time it took Lance to do this another Jaffa snuck up from behind. Raising his staff weapon into position, he fired...

(( Is this the end of Lance? ;)))

...The blast hit him square in the back, leaving him unable to call out or move from the amount of pain. Then everything went black...

Marshall, clutching his P90 and an optical scope, had been crawling up a particularly large sand dune near the Stargate for the last five minutes - he would've walked, but he had no idea whether or not the enemy could see him.

He reached the top of the dune and peered out over the desert though the optical scope, and quickly found some distant figures; about 10 Jaffa, making their way over a dune with staff weapons at the ready. Marshall grabbed for his radio, ready to warn the Alpha team that enemies were probably closing on their position, when he saw one of the Jaffa stop. He looked to be holding a Goa'uld communication device, which was obviously telling him something important because a few seconds later the Jaffa had his staff weapon loaded and ready.

And then the Jaffa did something that made Marshall very, very nervous.

The Jaffa looked right at him.

Marshall dropped the scope, and was in the process of picking it from the sand when a thought occured to him; the Jaffa knew where the Beta team was. They obviously knew where the Alpha team was and were in the process of neautralising them, so if they knew where the Beta team was...

"Oh no," Marshall said to himself. He picked up his P90 and his scope, hauled himself up from the ground and started running towards the Stargate and the DHD, muttering "Oh no, oh no," continuosly under his breath.

"Dial the Gate!" he yelled at the Beta team once he was sure they'd be able to hear him. "Dial the Gate, anywhere, just do it!"

His pace quickened on the firmer ground around the 'Gate, and he was able to cover the ground between himself and the DHD much faster, but he wasn't quite fast enough. Even as Marshall reached the DHD and was about to push a symbol the 'Gate made the familiar noise of a chevron locking in.

Marshall quickly tried to punch in an address, any address, but before he could finish the dialling sequence the 'Gate activated from offworld with the familiar kawoosh!

"Team!" Marshall yelled. "We've got incom--"

His voice was drowned out by a staff weapon blast flying out from the event horizon. Marshall dived to the left and felt the heat of the blast as it zoomed past him. He quickly gripped his weapon in the firing position and aimed in the general direction of the Stargate as a single Jaffa stepped through, staff weapon open and ready to fire. Marshall grit his teeth and squeezed the P90's trigger, firing a burst at the Jaffa. The hail of bullets didn't kill the Jaffa outright, but it pushed him backwards and into the event horizon where he was dematerialised, permenantly.

Marshall got to his knees and crouched behind the DHD as a second Jaffa emerged from the 'Gate, then a third, then a fourth, and suddenly Marshall couldn't count because he was ducking the hail of staff weapon fire that was filling the air, and all he could think of were several non-PG variations of "Oh darn it".

Wiping the sweat off his brow, Richard noticed that they were massively outnumbered, and from the looks of things, not even at a tactical advantage. He emptied the AK's mag and rammed a fresh one in, firing at anything that was grey-colored and idiotic enough to give him a shot. He managed to keep the doubt out of his mind, exhausting yet another mag and fumbling through his pack for a fresh one. His hands closed around an M24 clip and he went with it, ramming the magazine home and firing at a rate he would normally of considered reckless. He spared a glance at Jim, who was firing madly into the sea of enemies. 'I have a hell of a fine commanding officer, too bad we're all…' he bit back the cynicism and took out another Jaffa. Scanning for another target when he heard a unfamiliar voice.

"Tauri soldiers, you are outnumbered, and your supply lines are cut. Your weapons require reloading, ours do not. You cannot win. Surrender now and your lives may be spared." Richard homed in on the First prime's position and centered the crosshairs. Just as he was about to fire, his radio crackled to life. "Hold your fire." It was Anderson's voice. Richard fumbled for his radio and brought it to his face.

Since the engagement had begun Hutchinson had been keeping an eye on the Jaffa and their deployment, and now enough of them had come through the 'Gate to justify defence number 1.

Without the slightest hesitation Hutchinson pulled out the detonator for the Claymore mines and pressed the first trigger. The Claymores exploded in spectacular fashion, spraying fire and shrapnel out at the advancing Jaffa and cutting down a slew of them.

As the smoke from the Claymore detonations cleared Shovell pressed down on the M60 trigger again and sprayed the high calibre bullets across the Stargate The sweeping motion took down Jaffa in droves and Hutchinson and Marshall, with their P90s and pistols, were easily picking off the ones who remained standing. It was a bloodbath, but at least the Beta team was winning.

Until Marshall realised that South was gone.

"Sarge!" he yelled over the roar of the M60. No response.

"Dammit!" he muttered to himself. He looked around, but saw neither hide nor hair of the Sargeant.

"Hutch!" he yelled again, getting Hutchinson's attention.

"South's gone," he yelled out. "Find out what happened to him. He couldn't have gone far."

Hutchinson, staying low to avoid staff blasts, ran down to the bottom of the nearest dune and dissapeared from Marshall's sight.

Larry turned and looked at Marshall when he heard him yell. 'Hutch? Nobody's called me that since high school....'. He nodded and took off over the dune in the direction where he'd last seen South, trying to maintain as low a profile as possible to avoid the incoming fire, and returning fire as best he could with his p90/zat combo, scoring a few hits in the process.

As he crested the dune, he saw South laying there, apparently incapacitated by a zat. Spotting two jaffa moving towards Philip's prone body, he took advantage of their distraction by crouching and popping them both with headshots, then tossing a couple of grenades at the other group. Sprinting to South's position, he helped him up and shouldered his weight.... "Let's go buddy, before things get any worse here." Phil was obviously groggy, but starting to come out of it, but Larry would have to pretty much drag him along. Tossing one more grenade baseball style at the jaffa, he managed to take a couple out.

Half dragging/half carrying South over the dunes back to the gate area he toggled his comm unit to warn Marshall of the jaffa that were following and informing him that South was hit. As he reached the top of the hill, one jaffa recovered and scored a glancing hit that caught Larry on his right thigh. As his leg gave out from the hit, both men began to tumble down the dune towards the gate, rolling very awkwardly towards the bottom of the dune. He saw Shovell on the m-60 and yelled for him to sweep the top of the dune they'd fallen down. "We've got lots of unwanted guests following us, we need suppressing fire NOW". Toggling his comm unit again, he spoke quickly but clearly "Marshall, South was hit by a zat blast, but he seems to be coming to. My right leg is hit, not too badly, but that fall seems to have wrenched my knee - I'm not gonna be much help moving South to cover anymore. We're going to need some help fast."

Looking over at South, he heard the man groan. "Hang in there, Marshall is on the way." Turning his gaze back to the top of the dune where he'd been standing moments ago, he tossed the last two grenades he'd had on him over it hoping to score a few lucky hits on the pursuing jaffa and buy some time for Marshall to get to South. Hearing the detonation of the grenades, he clenched his teeth and hoped he got a few. Popping a fresh clip into the p90, he raised himself up on his good knee and prepared to shoot any jaffa who crested the hill.

His heart ached for him to do something, but his mind kept him rational, at least for the moment. He looked at Anderson, impatiently waiting for orders. He groaned as he thought of the torture methods that the Jaffa used.

"Hold your fire" he warned Dobson. Jim had no doubt that Richard could take out the first prime with a headshot, but realized that they were outmatched. The only chance for his team to get out alive was to surrender for now, and hope that Marshall, Hutchinson, and the rest of the team holding the gate would be able to get reinforcements. He made eye contact with Jacen, who seemed really tense. 'I know kid... your first away mission, and we're being taken captive. Keep cool, don't do anything rash.' His stare told Jacen to stay calm, and relax.

"Team, hold fire and drop your weapons. We're not gonna be able to fight our way out of this one." Making eye contact with Captain York, he made sure he noticed him surreptitiously toggle his comm unit to continuously send, hoping the Jaffa wouldn't notice it, and that the gate team would be able to get some useful intel for a rescue op.

Standing up and raising his hands, he yelled to the First Prime, forcing the very distasteful words out. 'I hate to do this, but I have to give these men a chance to get back alive' "We're surrendering, but we have wounded." Feeling torn up inside, he gritted his teeth as he awaited the response.

York watched and waited. We're dead if we don't get lucky. He thought as he returned fire. He saw that a few of the men were getting shakey many of thme being new guys to the relam of battle this intense. Then the order for cease fire came in. Charles stopped firing the instant he heard. Surrend was the only way to go on this one getting themselves killed on a rescue mission wouldn't be so good.

As he stood up and dropped his weapon he saw Anderson look at Jacen after telling Dobson to hold his fire. Anderson then turned his gaze to Charles. York knew exactly what Anderson was thinking and was already in the process of it. He carefully flicked a switch that started to transmit everything over the radio to Marshall and his crew. Hope he gets the message. Thought Charles as he looked around.

Richard unconsciously growled as he let loose of the trigger. It was almost painful to lower the scope from it's position, so carefully crafted to graceful alleviate the first prime of his life. But he followed orders, slowly rising from his position and placing his weapons on the ground. He felt the adrenaline rush get the better of him, his heart beginning to race now that survival didn't depend on calmly taking the shot. 'First mission out and I'm surrendering. Way to go Rich.' He pondered sarcastically to himself, still eyeing the jaffa and setting up shots in his mind. 'At least Clayton's safe on base. I guess it wasn't such a bad thing she got left out after all.' He thought fleetingly as he waited for orders, his combat-ready mind using her last name out of habit.

As Ken'ac looked over at the last memebers of the tau'ri he felt gald to have captured many of the remaining of their kind. He would have ordered his men to kill them all, but there were a few more of those pests out there and these would prove usefull in the location. Though he hated the Tau'ri he could not help, but respect their battle tatics. They had fought well, but had dirtied themselves by surrendering.

He walked up to the person in command and looked straight into the man's eye's. All he got back was defience of a man accepting what was coming to him. Ken'ac raised his hand and swung down striking the Tau'ri commander on the side of his head watching as the man feel to the ground. Richard unconsciously flexed his hand as he saw the Jaffa brazenly punch his CO, gritting his teeth to keep the blind fury down. The first prime said something to his men, and one of the larger Jaffa headed toward Rich's position. Richard watched as the other man faltered for a moment, seemingly still shaken by the earlier combat. The fire in his eyes was clouded by the fear that he might still join his fallen comrades. 'Must be his first engagement, guess the ranks of the loyal Jaffa don't exactly allow for choosy Gods these days.'

The Lieutenant kept his gaze leveled into the slightly shorter man's eyes. Nodding at the inevitable gesture to go ahead and stand with his team members. "Can I take that?" He asked, nodding to the rifle. The only answer was a visibly tightened grip on the zat trigger. "Take that as a no." Richard raised his hands by his sides and moved up to the rest of the team, his escort following all the way. When he reached the appointed position he noticed Talon was laying limply in the sand. Never one to think before opening his mouth, he spoke. "If you're not going to let me carry my weapon can I at least take a look at him? He needs medical attention." Richard asked, nodding in Talon's general direction.

Jacen nodded at Anderson as he looked his way. He realized he had been looking a little too jittery. He exhaled, closed his eyes, and slowly breathed in, regaining his calm. He opened his eye, and glared at the First Prime, with cold hard eyes. He was trying to formulate a plan, that would help the team wait. He had to be patient though, something he wasn't good at.

Jim took the blow from the First Prime without flinching. It hurt, but not as badly as he'd expected. What hurt more was knowing that he'd had to surrender to save his team. As he picked himself up slowly, he looked defiantly at the jaffa.

Hearing Richard say, "If you're not going to let me carry my weapon can I at least take a look at him? He needs medical attention.", Jim spoke. "I've got a wounded man, if you have any decency in you, any honor, you'll let us tend to him and stabilize his wounds before you take us wherever you're going to." Seeing the disdain in the first prime's eyes, he decided to push just a bit more. "Besides, from a tactical perspective, you're probably planning to use us as bait to get the rest of our people..." Turning his head very slightly to make sure his open transmitter picked up his words without being obvious, he continued. "Tallon is wounded, but alive. If you let us stabilize his wounds, he won't slow you down much, since we'll be the ones carrying him, not you or one of your eleven underlings. And, more LIVE prisoners does make for more tempting bait, does it not?" He raised an eyebrow slightly as he waited for the reply, hoping that the small bit of tactical information he'd just relayed would help Marshall and Hutchinson form a rescue plan, and helping Tallon would buy a bit more time for them to get on the trail.

His thoughts turned homeward, to a certain woman he had extremely strong feelings for. 'Katie.... I hope I get out of this alive, to come home to you. But if I don't, I hope you know I'll always love you. I'm glad you didn't come on this mission, knowing it was my fault you got captured would be unbearable.' Steeling himself for another blow from the first prime, he hoped that the Jaffa would let them help Tallon before dragging them off to who knows where.

As Larry was kneeling waiting for Marshall to come over and help him move South, another trio of Jaffa crested the hill. Thumbing the firing stud on the zat mounted under the forestock of his combination P-90/zat in rapid succession he stunned the three of them and watched them fall. As he turned to look back at Marshall and try to help South get to some better cover, his radio crackled. Through the static he made out "We're surrendering, but we have wounded.". Despite the less-than-crystal clear connection, he could still make out Jim's voice. "S**t!!! We've gotta help him."

Charged with adrenaline, somehow managing to ignore the pain in his leg, he managed to help South get to the rocks near Marshall, then got on the M-60 mount to help repel the next wave of Jaffa. As he did so, the pain in his leg stabbed through him. "D**n... I'm gonna need to shoot some morphine or cortisone in there for the rescue mission." More static came through the radio. As he caught Marshall's eye and signaled him to check his radio, Jim's voice came through more clearly. "....Tallon is wounded, but alive. If you let us stabilize his wounds, he won't slow you down much, since we'll be the ones carrying him, not you or one of your eleven underlings. And, more LIVE prisoners does make for more tempting bait, does it not?"

Despite the gravity of the situation, Larry had to give a slight smile. "That cunning little.... he's got the radio on continuous transmit and he's trying to feed us as much tactical info as possible." Straining to hear more, an idea seared into his consciousness like a laser. 'Wait a minute.... if we leave a comm unit open here at the gate, we can triangulate on their position..... we'll be able to find them!!!' He yelled over to Marshall. "We can track them.... as soon as you can, get the medkit and shoot me up so we can go help them."

The first prime looked at the humans, sickened by their surrender, but seeing something in the eyes of them made him realize that maybe it wasn't because they were as pathetic as he'd first thought. Their CO didn't grovel after he hit him, instead responding with "If you let us stabilize his wounds, he won't slow you down much, since we'll be the ones carrying him, not you or one of your eleven underlings. And, more LIVE prisoners does make for more tempting bait, does it not?" The first prime raised an eyebrow. This leader, pathetic as he may be for surrendering, obviously cared about the welfare of his team. 'There's something beneath the surface here... but what? Was this why the Tau'ri were such fierce fighters when they engaged in battle? ' He'd have to ponder this more, after the prisoners were secure in the prison back at their base. Ke'nac nodded to his underlings, indicating his permission to let the humans tend to their wounded.

"I'm only doing this because you make a logical point, not out of compassion. You'd do well to remember that, human."

Anderson nodded, and moved over to look at Tallon. It looked bad, but after further examination, it was treatable, and he wasn't going to die from it as long as the Jaffa allowed them to periodically check the dressings and give him analgesics for the pain. He looked over to Fuller and York. "It looks like his combat vest took the worst of it. Seems like Dr. Lee got something right back at the SGC." Tilting his head ever so slightly so his open transmitter could pick it up a bit better, he continued. "Both of you are better with the medkit than I am, but it seems like a 2nd degree burn from the staff weapon hit. Take a look in case I missed anything, and treat it."

He turned to Lance, who seemed to be slowly regaining consciousness. 'He looks bad, but he's going to get through this. Funny.... he kind of looks like Larry when he hasn't had his coffee' He half smiled at the thought of the camaraderie they'd forged on the base, despite the tension with... with Katie. 'If anyone can pick up on the signal and help us out of this, it's Larry and Marshall. They complement each other well, and Larry's just crazy enough to figure something out.'

Moving so York and Fuller could treat the wounds, he took Tallon's hand and spoke as calmly as he could. "Looks like you picked a bad time to play catch the staff blast, but you're going to be all right. Don't worry, we're going to make it out of this."

Jim stared intently at Tallon as the others tended to his burn. Apparently their treatment was doing some good, as Lance's eyes fluttered open while he spoke a single word... "Sarah". Jim locked his stare into Lance's eyes when he looked up at him, willing him to fight, to pull through, to heal himself. Then he squeezed his hand as Lance's eyes closed again. 'He's in shock... and will need more treatment than we can give him in the field' He reached down and surreptitiously toggled the switch on Tallon's radio, setting it to transmit continuously like his own, and to act as a locator for the gate team to find him.

Jim stood, still angry at the situation, frustrated that they'd had to surrender, and became even more disheartened as another two platoons of jaffa approached, weapons at the ready. 'S**t! No way the gate team will be able to spring us now. Speaking so that it could be picked up by his own radio, but not heard by Ken'ac, who was speaking with the Jaffa leading the new arrivals, Jim reported "Now there are close to 100 jaffa with us. Op-sit for rescue in my opinion not feasible, cut and run. Get your butts back to the Alpha Site. Our locators are on, you may be able to get reinforcements to pull the rescue, but no way you can do it yourselves, you'll just give them a bigger haul."

Ken'ac strode over to Anderson, hitting him again and knocking him to the ground next to the wounded Tallon. He then glared at the wounded man, as York and Fuller reflexively moved to keep themselves between Lance and the first prime. "He's too wounded to move, and not worth the effort to take him to our base and waste our resources. Leave him." When the Terrans hesitated with angry looks in their eyes, he reiterated his demand, this time punctuating it with a blast from the staff beam just over their heads.

Jim looked at the others, winking to them to indicated he'd toggled Tallon's radio in case backup came, then spoke loudly again. "Men, we've got no choice. 100 jaffa aren't going to negotiate. I don't want to leave Lance here any more than you do, but getting ourselves killed won't solve anything." The three healthy men stood, leaving the medkits by Tallon, hoping against hope that the gate team would be back with reinforcements to pick him up and rescue them. Jim nodded after receiving acknowledgement that Tallons wounds had been stabilized as much as they could. Again speaking so the radio could pick it up. "Tallon's staying behind, but his wounds are stabilized, so he may have a chance to hang on."

A less than gentle nudge from staff weapons forced the three SG team members into a swift march pace, surrounded by the Jaffa force, heading off to the what Jim assumed would be the Jaffa stronghold. A tear formed in Jim's eye as his thoughts drifted... 'Katie... I'm sorry I won't be coming back anytime soon. But I WILL get out of this somehow....

The brigade of jaffa and their prisoners cleared the dunes, and Tallon was left alone, his transmitter still sending out a locator signal....

Larry kept looking across the horizon, traversing the M-60 to shoot any jaffa who crested the hill. Several minutes passed with no activity, and Marshall came over to tend to Larry's wound. A cortisone shot and a splint later, he was able to move around with about 75 percent mobility. Not the greatest, but better than he'd thought. South also seemed to be in decent shape.

Then the radio clicked. They heard Jim's voice through the static. "Now there are close to 100 jaffa with us. Op-sit for rescue in my opinion not feasible, cut and run. Get your butts back to the Alpha Site. Our locators are on, you may be able to get reinforcements to pull the rescue, but no way you can do it yourselves, you'll just give them a bigger haul." Larry grimaced, sick to his stomach. This wasn't going to be good. He looked at Marshall. We need to get help. NOW. Even though Marshall was team leader, they were the same rank, and Larry didn't wait for any confirmation before dialing the gate. The seventh symbol didn't lock, no kawoosh, no contact with Gaia. He dialed again, more slowly this time, in case his anger and frustration had caused him to misdial. No kawoosh. "D**mit! What else can go wrong?"

The radio clicked again as Jim's voice continued... "Tallon's staying behind, but his wounds are stabilized, so he may have a chance to hang on." Larry looked at Marshall. "We can get him. If we leave him, he dies. Those jaffa won't be coming here.... if they were, Jim would have found a way to warn us. Leave South here to hold the gate, he'd slow us down even more than I will." He grabbed a radio, after leaving one on at the gun turret. "Look.... the others are out of range, there's only one signal we can triangulate on. We need to get him."

Without waiting for confirmation, he grabbed his p-90/zat combo and a collapsible field stretcher from the medkit and headed towards the signal. Marshall followed, scanning the sides for any signs of an ambush. About twenty minutes later, they found Tallon, unconscious, but alive. They checked his wounds. It seemed like York and Fuller had done a skilled job of patching him up with what they had available. Moving quickly, they got Tallon onto the stretcher and got him back to the gate site.

South reported that he'd had no luck connecting to the alpha site after repeated dials. Marshall looked at Larry and raised an eyebrow. Larry shrugged. "No time to wait, Tallon needs help. They'll have better facilities at the beta site." Marshall nodded wearily and told him to proceed.

Larry dialed the beta site with a sense of urgency and trepidation. The trepidation was relieved when he saw and heard the familiar 'kawoosh'. Toggling the radio, he spoke. "This is Captain Larry Hutchinson of SG-7. We have four requesting permission to come through, 3 of us are wounded. The Alpha Site gate is not responding, no connection, no kawoosh, no nothing. Please respond."

The radio crackled. "Sg-7, we are aware of the alpha-site gate.... problem. Come on through, med teams are standing by."

The weary men looked back across the dunes, worried about the men who'd been captured, but powerless to help at the moment. A tear welled up in Larry's left eye and flowed down his cheek. "Jim... I'm sorry. If there's any way to find and rescue you, I'll do it, or die trying." They stepped forward, through the event horizon and emerged at the beta site gateroom.

Jacen sighed as he continued on what seemed like an endless march. Probably to our deaths, he thought.

His hands were crudely chained infront of him, keeping him from trying to attempt an escape. "Not like I could get too far," he muttered as he looked at all of the Jaffa.

Jacen looked to Anderson for any confirmation that he had a plan to get them out and back to base. As he waited for that 'look' he looked up ahead at the terrain infront of the captives and kept walking.

York hated the march. It was so humliating. He was a US marine and now look at him he was a POW. He probably wouldn't be able to see. He stopped. Earth was already gone. He didn't have much their and he didn't have much back on gaia. All he had was what? Nothing he had his will to live. As he pondered about that he found the march to his death less depressing. Which scared him even more than the march of death. He looked over at the others with him. Some probably had something back on Gaia and he didn't. What should he do wallow in his own depression? Or do something for them.

Jim caught Jacen's glance as they trudged along their march to... to wherever these cursed jaffa were taking them. 'He's wondering if I have a plan to get us out of here... I wish I did. Still, we've got some open comms that a rescue team will be able to home in on barring unforseen circumstances. IF they come. The gate team was good men, they'll have picked up the intel we gave them, and hopefully they were able to get Tallon out of there to medical help. If anyone would be able to get help to them, it'd be Marshall and Hutchinson. He caught Jacen's eye again, and ever so slightly inclined his head towards his radio, hoping he'd get the hint. Then his eyes turned toward Dobson, his team's sniper. Another young soldier he'd failed, but if he could get his hands on a weapon he could do some serious damage.

Then he turned to York. He hadn't worked with the captain much in the past, but from what he'd heard he was very capable, if a bit acerbic at times. So far on this mission he'd been a d**n good man, together they might come up with something to get them out of this mess. They had been marching for a long time, and Charles was getting tired. He didn't want to go much farther. However, he noticed that the Jaffa seemed to be marching them around in circles and on weird paths. They must be trying to keep them from knowing where they were, and for the most part it was working. Charles didn't have a clue. He tired to leave a trail, but he ran out of things to use to mark it and with the Jaffa watching them closely it was hard.

He noticed that the Jaffa were getting tired. Just like they were, and they were also getting sloppy. Charles looked around. He caught Anderson's eye and at that moment he could tell that the Colonel was thinking the same thing he was. They didn't have to wait long. The Jaffa just in front of Charles stumble and Charles made sure he caught his foot on the Jaffa's and sent them both to the ground. While falling Charles moved his hand so that it would hit the Jaffa in just the right spot and knock him out. It was hard with his hands binded, but he managed.

He put his arms down near the Jaffa to help himself up just as a bunch of arms grabbed at him. His hands landed on what he needed, and he jerked himself forward sending the Jaffa who was pulling him up into a flip. He then turned and fired his ZAT at the nearest Jaffa, and started to fire as he heard the others also fight back.

As soon as York 'helped' his jaffa escort to the ground, Jim almost simultaneously threw a hard elbow into the solar plexus of the jaffa next to him, and when he doubled over, raised his knee to meet the jaffa's chin while bringing his bound hands down to the back of the jaffa's neck in a double axe-handle blow. Upon hearing the loud 'pop' of the spinal column bending well past design tolerances, he grabbed the knife out of the jaffa's belt and managed to cut his bonds. Also grabbing the zat from the jaffa's belt, he started rapid firing at the nearby jaffa while moving next to York to remove his bonds. That task completed, he turned to locate Fuller. Hearing a 'behind you' from one of his teammates, Jim spun and hurled the knife as hard as he could, catching the jaffa trying to sneak up on him right in the symbiote pouch.

"York, as soon as you guys can make a break for the gate, do so. Hopefully the gate team got the hell out like I told them to, but you might get lucky and find some hardware there to cover yourselves while you dial out. Hopefully they also picked up Shovell"

Still firing rapidly, Jim headed over to Fuller, and helped him up, handing him a second zat he'd grabbed from the jaffa who'd caught the knife. Hearing Dobson yell "Tell them to stop fighting!" he turned and noticed Richard had obtained a rather useful meatshield. He moved along side of Dobson, and spoke softly. He then grabbed the first prime that Dobson had shoved and held him up as a meat shield between himself and the jaffa, conviently also between his now fleeing team. He silently prayed for their safe return. Knowing his radio was still open, and that York's was as well, unless the switch got toggled in the fracas, he spoke softly "If anyone is at the gate area, you've got three friendlies incoming from the Northeast, no pursuit right now, but that may change. I'll hold it off as long as I can. Do NOT, repeat do NOT come back for me without sufficient troops and firepower - there are still over 80 jaffa here, and they're starting to reorganize. Good luck York, get them home safely. It was an honor serving with you. Dobson, Richards, if you make it back, try to keep Larry out of trouble.... and tell Katie I love her."

Tightening his grip on the first prime, he gradually backpedalled towards the gate, keeping the first prime between himself and the other jaffa. "All right," he yelled. "Stay put, no fast moves. If I see any of you trying to flank me or go after my men, you've seen how fast my trigger finger is - your first prime WILL die." He said to the first prime. "If you get them to stand down, you have my word you'll live". The first prime responded with what was pretty obviously a rather emphatic stream of epithets. He surveyed the scene again. He started to gain speed again, but he siliently swore to himself that he would be on the team that came back to save Anderson, no matter what. He panted into his still transmitting radio, "Sir, the honor was all mine."

Charles saw the gate there were men there with their guns pointed at him. What a sight.[ He thought as he wavied his arms signaling a friendly. He watched as they ran over to dial the gate and get everything ready. Charles took that moment to steal a look back and saw Dobson and Richards following closely behind.

He closed up on the gate and slowed the seventh cheveron locked and the gate engaged sending a woosh out towards him. He took this oppertunity to talk to the man in charge of this recon. "I'm Captain York," Charles said and the younger Liuetenant threw him a salute which Charles returned.

"Sir, I'm Liuetenant Green from the beta site were going there not Gaia," He said and quickly added after seeing the stunned look on Charles face. "Gaia is having some problems. You're team was evacuated there." Charles nodded and wanted to talk more, but some staff and zat blast hit the gate and he decided it would be best to go through the gate. He ran for the gate as the Beta site team gave covering fire as he entered the event horizon he felt a wave of relief wash over him.

Jim breathed a sigh of relief when he heard his radio crackle.

"Sir, the honor was all mine."

'Good. They made it back. If there's any way to rescue me, I know Hutchinson and York will find me. Katie... If there's any way for me to make it back, I will. Hearing the kawoosh of the gate activating over the radio, he smiled, knowing his sacrifice wasn't in vain. 'Might as well try to get some intelligence in case they manage to bust me out of here.' He spoke to the first prime, "My men are safe, you have me... I surrender." He then handed the zat to the first prime.

The first prime, Ke'nac, responded by smacking Anderson hard with his right hand, flooring him. He then glared at Jim, bitter hatred in his eyes, but it was tinged with respect for how he had sacrificed himself for his men. "You Tau'ri are weak and pathetic, but I sense honor in you. A shame we'll have to imprison you. Under different circumstances you would have been a useful ally." Cuffing him again, the First Prime rounded up the jaffa and took Jim into their stronghold after a forced march of a few more miles.

Richard kept the pace and crested the final dune just in time to see the 'gate engage. He saw who he only assumed to be Charles stop for a moment, then continue through the gate, and planned to simply go through the gate. However when he saw who was on the recon team he stopped in his tracks.

"Green? Why would they send..." He got a sudden feeling of dread and thoughts of Clayton running through his head. "Did something happen to the Alpha site?" "Richard, we don't know, we haven't been able to dial in for..." Richard went to run a hand through his hair but remembered his earlier injury and thought better of it. Green grimaced as he noticed the injury. "That hand looks pretty bad, you'd best get doc..."

"Forget the ______ hand! I escape from a ____load of Jaffa only to find out that the woman I love could be dead!?!?!?!?" Green stiffened his features. "We didn't exactly send a bomb through SIR. Many of us are just as worried as you are, despite not having a girl on every base. SIR." That almost threw Richard over the edge, but the pain now welling up in his hand combined with some rather painful memories seemed to have a sobering effect. "Just... if they put me under, let me know the second you find out anything." Green softened a bit. 'Dobson backing down from a fight? I must of really struck a nerve.'
"Yes sir. I'll make sure of it." Richard walked toward the gate, steeled himself, and stepped into the event horizon. Shaking like a leaf at the prospect of returning to where his fiance had died, to find out if another woman had fallen to the same fate.

Jacen held his head high as he headed towards the Stargate. He looked back towards the route where most of the team had escaped, and to where Anderson was. He looked back at the sand dunes before he entered the Stargate muttering to himself, "Colonel we'll be back for you, even if we have to go through hell to do so."

He checked the remains of his gear and then stepped through the Stargate, not knowing what awaited them at the Beta Site. Wonder what has happened to Gaia, he thought.
